The Connacht Hotel, Galway
I had booked a family room for 2 adults and 2 kids and the room that was given to me was for 2 adults and 1 kid. After speaking to the reception they put a camp bed in the room to accomodate us. I was told that they received the booking for family classic room which is generally for 2 adults and 1 kid. So unhappy with bargain breaks for not clearly mentioning it while booking.

Our room was fabulous over looking the gardens. The bar for food was terrible . My friend got tray of drink thrown round her, our food was not served as ordered, not served at same time then one friend received her food second time round and was still incorrect . Breakfast was better served but toast was not toasted correctly. Wouldn’t be in hurry back for food . Was disappointing.

Rooms were uncomfortable warm ,hotel bar was overcrowded, not enough staff on hand to keep the place tidy or provide efficient service. We went the Aug BH weekend and were so disappointed.

Exceptionaly friendly and welcoming staff. breakfast was excellent and evening meal was superb and catered for a gluten free vegan diet with lots of options available , clean comfortable family run hotel with excellent food and service
