There is plenty to see and do in Mullaghmore from cliff walks to charming Castles.
Beautiful location. Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was small but very clean. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and the food was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay.

Really enjoyed my stay at the pier Hotel and will definitely go there again.its in a beautiful area staff were lovely. Would have no problem recommending it
The hotel is in a beautiful setting, with breakfast overlooking the sea. There are lovely coastal walks nearby. The hotel was clean, rooms fine, excellent for a short break
Enjoyed. Thanks to lydl for lovely prize. Hotel lovely. Location brilliant.
We enjoyed our 2 night stay very much. Room requests that we made were all honoured and we were pleased with our room - lovely view of the harbour. Breakfast on both days was great. We ate in the restaurant both nights of our stay and the food was lovely. All staff we dealt with were friendly, helpful and polite. Thanks to everyone in the Pier Head Hotel.
Hotel room was quite small and very hot. Okay for a 1 night stay but wouldn't stay 2.
V clean hotel lots of staff all very pleasant and helpfull beautiful location i will b back again
A fine hotel with great staff. The breakfast was really nice with a good choice. We didn't eat in restaurant so can't comment on that. Hotel location is also a major plus .
This was our 4th stay at The Pier Head Hotel in Mullaghmore. It is a family ran hotel with warm, friendly and accommodating staff. There is always a wonderful welcome here. A tasty breakfast and a clean room with fragrant, fluffy towels. The kids love the pool and the hotels close proximity to the beach. See you guys again soon!
The staff overall in the hotel were pleasant respectful and above all very good at their job. The Receptionist were very welcoming as you would expect in the west of Ireland . The food at breakfast and dinner was excellent.

I had a lovely 2 night break at the hotel. Can't fault it and the staff were wonderful. Its lovely to see a hotel like this in such a scenic community
Location was incredible. Room was great. Bed comfortable and breakfast was very tasty. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend
Very clean and well presented to guests. Staff were excellent and very polite and helpful.
Fab location staff were so friendly and helpful. Beautiful location. Loved it
Had a lovely stay very relaxing weekend .definitely go back.had a lovely room with a view .lovely breakfast each morning and staff were lovely .Martina co wicklow
Got a call on evening of check in to make sure we were enroute. Specifically asked for a room with a view of the Atlantic Ocean. Allocated a room with a view of a carpark on arrival. Paid the extra charge to relocate. Tv s mounted on wall that cannot be seen from the bed. Shower gel bottle did not have tab removed and couldn't be used. In need of a revamp/re decoration...dated. Basic room but enjoyed our stay.
We enjoyed our visit to hotel .Staff was very helpful. We stayed there before and we will stay in the pier hotel again.Lovely hotel. And a lovely area. Thanks to all the staff.
Very friendly staff. Delicious food
VERY RELAXING BREAK . GOOD BREAKFAST LOVELY VIEW FROM OUR ROOM,, WOULD RETURN AGAIN.
Great staff and atmosphere... we were treated extremely well. Lovely Restaurant and fine food and drink. Bar area very homely. Loved the quiet area of the 'library'... great for a chat and catch up. Special mention to the Recptionist for sorting out an 'issue' that arose. 10/10
Excellent hotel with very friendly and helpful staff rooms were spotless and food was delicious I would highly recommend and will definitely return.*****
Nice hotel.Well maintained.Clearly significant money invested.Nice staff Good quality breakfast.
Staff very friendly. Close to beach
My husband and myself really enjoyed are stay at the pier hotel Mullaghmore. From the moment we arrived we found the staff members were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel is right on the water’s edge and the view is amazing.there is a spa and a swimming pool which is pristine and we spent some very relaxing time there. The staff and management are totally dedicated to helping guests .Through the receptionist we discovered local walks ,boat trips , and places of interest .We stayed two nights bed and breakfast the room was spotless as was the hotel.Breakfast was hearty and well prepared. We decided to eat dinner at the hotel restaurant each evening (book before 4pm each day )to avoid disappointment as it is a very popular. We hope to return again plus B & B cost won’t break the Bank and it was a truly enjoyable and relaxing experience thanks to a well spent time ????
Food really good, served in a great dining room with an amazing view. Bed Room generally very satisfactory. Would have preferred a firmer bed Location of hotel is excellent. Hotel doesn’t provide Wi-fi. Didn’t use swimming pool. We are repeat customers of this hotel.
Rooms a bit small . Great views Staff nice
Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. Stayed in Pier View room which was immaculate and lovely view. Staff very nice. Food great!!
Lovely room with a sea view
We have stayed here a few times and it has been great we cant say anything bad about the place. I forgot to ask if they had changed chefs as the food while good wasnt as good as last year where the food was out of this world. Every member of staff we met was very nice and couldnt do enough for us and the views were beautiful even on a wet day so try this place out you wont be disappointed
Quiet break turned into a surprise party for a 'roundy birthday' and Hotel coped excellently!!! Great Weekend... deffinitely Recommend it :)
Great hotel in an excellent position, the only problem we had was we couldn’t get a bar snack after 5pm, luckily the hotel across the road did serve until 8pm so we ate there, other than that nice hotel with clean rooms and pleasant staff.
Lovely hotel, great staff would highly recommend the Pier Hotel
Fabulous hotel, staff and a location to die fo.A hidden gem will definitely be back.
We had a lively relaxing stay, lovely hotel and the staff were so helpful.
I had a lovely stay. Everyone was really nice. So peaceful. The hotel was basic but clean. The staff were very nice especially Sarah at reception. It is reasonably priced. I will be booking here again.
We had a leak in bathroom receptionist was very helpful. Overall staff was very helpful and food was excellent. There was not a great selection on menu
nice hotel beautiful view from our room. food was lovely Bar man was very pleasent witch was nice to be greeted with a big smile . will return in the future had a lovely relaxing time. The only thing i would comment on and its not a majour deal is there were 3 garden plastic seats to sit on in the steam room witch was slightly odd..
Really injoyed this hotel beautiful place an Great staff mead feel very at home will be definitely coming back
Absolutely marvellous! SIituated in abeautiful location. Breakfast lovely and restaurent food of a high standard and reasonably priced
Nice clean hotel
Comfortable, warm, clean and staffed by helpful, friendly kind staff. Beautiful location.
Nice hotel, its basic but clean. Great location. Rooms could do with an update.
We had a lovely weekend away in Mullaghmore staying at the Pier Head, fantastic views, lovely facilities and great staff acknowledgement and help if needed. Will definitely be booking to stay here again.
The room was quite dusty with a few cobwebs on the walls/ceiling and the mattress badly needs upgrading. However, it was lovely and warm as was everywhere throughout the hotel. The food in the restaurant was very good. Breakfast was piping hot and very tasty. Fabulous view overlooking the harbour. Couldn’t fault the staff…. Very friendly, chatty, pleasant and knowledgeable of the area and places to go. We would stay here again.
Thank you
Had a lovely 1 night stay good breakfast cooked fresh in the morning. Excellent value for money.
We really enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable room. Friendly staff. Good food and loved the swimming pool. Beside the beach with beautiful scenery and walks.
Very satisfied. Comfortable room. Satisfied with dining, but would have liked some changes to the menu, rather than the same every evening. No Wi-Fi in bedroom. Very attractive location. Staff very friendly.
Lovely place and lovely walks great views food was lovely so were all the staff
hi Had a really enjoyable stay for the night of the 19th August Yes there a few maintanence issues, handles on windows, cracked window frames but the service was excellent, bedroom clean and comfortable , food was excellent and the staff were polite and friendly. I got a great bargain and will be back.
The hotel is lovely, the staff was great. It is a disappointing fact that you have to go out of the hotel to enter to the swimming pool. I found the step into the bathroom a bit tricky too. The food was tasty, the view was just wonderful. I would gladly return.
Location right on the ocean fantastic views
Lovely staff , lovely breakfast , lovely meal , lovely hotel in a lovely harbour setting ...... bar is hit and miss though ......poor seating and no atmosphere .......could do with the Brennan brothers touch .
Hotel was lovely and very clean however the breakfast was very disappointing we did eat in the restaurant twice and it was very nice but the breakfast would maybe put me off returning
Rooms a bit small . First room was near extractor fan from kitchen and got moved. Food was limited in restaurant. Staff were all very friendly and view from restaurant or balcony above was 10/10. Lovely little spot.
Hotel was very good ,just had to pay €10 extra for a room with sea view but room was very nice and fresh.
Very enjoyable stay. Lived the swimming pool. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will be back again
Hotel was very good ,just had to pay €10 extra for a room with sea view but room was very nice and fresh.
Lovely location staff wonderful very helpful room clean and fresh very comfortable bed lovely breakfast ????
The food in this hotel was top notch and staff were very helpful
Lovely hotel and staff..food was beautiful in the restaurant ..we'll be back again..thank you all at the pier head hotel
Beautiful location .Food excellent.Friendly staff very helpful, Will book again
My room was tiny-not enough storage; my clothes remained in my suitcase. There is no servicing of rooms at present. If you want fresh towels etc, you must ask. Due to Covid they say. Saving money more like. Menu tiny and unvaried. Bar food not served after 5pm. No Wifi. No system of charging to the room. Lots of negatives. Staff, however, are lovely.
Really enjoyed our stay lovely room friendly staff good food really nice location
Restaurant just top class with the most wonderful food and staff were also fantastic. Hold on to that chef !!!
Excellent value for money, pleasant staff and great service . Beautiful scenic area and views from the hotel will be back. Thanks lidl Breaks.
Great site, great food, great beer, great views, great room, warm room, big balcony with great view of ocean, good pool and sauna , steam room not working, no internet access.very helpful and friendly staff. Overall a great place to stay and I will return. Billy.
Restaurant could do with a more interesting menu. Bar snacks are no longer available in the evenings.....only restaurant meals. Otherwise good accommodation with friendly staff in a beautiful /quiet location. I will certainly return!!
Have stayed here a few times because of the location . Hotel is in desperate need of a good clean and paint job. New restaurant instead of bar food with very few choices and a 2 hour opening . Views only good thing am sorry to report
Beautiful hotel. The roof terrace had amazing sea view. A pod of Dolphins put on a magical show before sunset. So lucky to get to see this amazing spectacle. Our room was bright and airy and breakfast was delicious. We hope to return again soon.
Very comfortable bed. Slept well. Pleasant and attentive staff. Great restaurant with fabulous views.
Location very good excellent food
Enjoyed our stay but was disappointed with the lack of people using face masks and keeping social distancing
Great area Friendly staff
Lovely hotel on beach, food fab, rooms a bit small.
Great location. Amazing sea views from our room. Loved the outdoor terrace we could access from our room.
In spite of the COVID restrictions we had a nice time. Food was good in the hotel and I would recommend their burger, it was a good one. The hotel is very basic but the views are terrific. We had a great view from our room.
Enjoyed short break at Pier Head Hotel. The hotel is perfectly situated beside the lovely stone harbour and sea. Most rooms have Sea views. Staff were friendly and courteous and the leisure facilities a bonus. The surrounding area is beautiful for gentle walks. Highly recommend the hotel and its location
Room a little small. Breakfast Saturday am very slow as chef could not keep up with demand . Staff lovely friendly. Really enjoyed
Excellent service. Nice rooms With fabulous view. Good food.
Worst hotel i havebeen in my life. Dirty windows. Paint going off the walls. Hols in the walls. Restaurant menu is just 8 items . Expensive and unworhy
Had a very nice weekend break here on the 9/9. Excellent location for walking, scenery is stunning. Hotel is really good although our room was a bit run down however everything else in the hotel made up for that. The facilities, Leisure club, staff and especially the food in the bar were all way above excellent. I would recommend this hotel even just for the view when having breakfast it is spectacular. Already making plans to go back again.
We had the most relaxing break here in the pier head hotel. It was a very modern and clean hotel. The staff were so nice and helpful . The food was nice the bar was buzzing. They had a great selection of beauty treatments. The pool sauna and steam room were very relaxing. The view of the harbour was fab. The beach was perfect had a really nice walk around. The room was clean and spacious with a lovely sea view . Sligo town wasn't too far away for a bit of shopping . All in all a very enjoyable break away.
Spent a lovely weekend here. Facilities excellent and staff very helpful & friendly. Would certainly recommend it and will return again.
It was our first time staying in the Pier Head Hotel & Spa we really enjoyed our stay there the staff were very friendly and helpful we look forward to returning sometime soon. Mark & Carmen
Lovely location nice hotel room very basic no tea facilties in rooms which is unfortunate.. but apart from that lovelt hoteland nice staff food was beautiful.. would go again in better weather
The hotel staff where very nice and helpful. I stayed with a girlfriend. Beautiful area, wild and scenic. The hotel could be rated about two stars on my experience. They overcharged me by €40, which was deposit on the lidl breaks, I'm still waiting for a refund. I booked with 2 dinners, fatal mistake as the food was incredibly bad. On the second night I had turkey and ham it was laced with salt and dry as a bone, completely inedible, it was left uneaten as was most of the cod on the first night (again too salty). The veg was served on cold plates, although it was nicely done. Very amateur! Funny how staff are used to taking back three quarters of a dinner without a word said! However the staff where great, really friendly, just very bad management. Expect what you pay for and don't eat there, then its fine! I would not stay again.
Nice small hotel in a great position overlooking the harbour and bay. Rooms nice but small. Dinner was good and breakfast was excellent with great views over the sea. The bar at night was busy with a nice atmosphere. There is a nice walk along the coast from the hotel for a couple of miles. Overall a quiet relaxing hotel and we will be back early next year.
The hotel was well used and busy. Light coloured carpets need cleaning/replacing.Staff friendly & helpful. Fabulous location and we had a lovely room overlooking the sea with large shared balcony. Shame the balcony was destroyed with cigarette ends and smokers. I would suggest allocating a small smoking area & free up the remainder of the balcony for people who want to enjoy the view. The dining room was being used for a casino night and we had to eat in the bar. Food selection was poor with a lot of fried food/ not restaurant quality. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. I would stay there again but wouldnt have the dinner.
Nice hotel, good bar food when we arrived in early afternoon. Nice dinner in the evening. Room quite warm, which would'nt be a complaint in winter but comfortable bed and nice shower. We would go back.
Was offered a very small room when we booked in( it really should be a single room) when I complained was then given a slightly larger room. There was no kettle or iron provided in the room and it could have done when a fresh coat of paint. Otherwise the staff were very nice and the breakfast was good
Stayed for 1 night on a dinner ,bed and breakfast basis. Friendly staff and the dinner was amazing...........great food and very well presented. The views are spectacular from the resturant There was music in the bar on the Saturday night and there was a good buzz. Bar prices are good and staff very efficent. Unfortunately the beds in the room were very uncomfortable and needed to be replaced. Outside noise went on until 3 am and there didi not seem to be great insulation in the windows. We had a room to the front but would advise looking for one at the back away from the lift which would be a lot quieter.
Beautiful setting & hotel, food was very good too. Dining room at night time was bit cold & service was little slow, maybe it was a bit short staffed. Staff that was there were very good. Would go back, when the hot tub is fixed!
We were very pleased with the location and food. We were disappointed with the size of the room 123 as the location of the bed in relation to the entry door left little room. The Hot tub not being in working order was a great disappointment as it was out of order from early december when we booked and our stay was over the new year.
Enjoyed our stay in the Pier Head Hotel. Beautiful location. Bedroom a bit on the small side, en suite could do with some tlc, TV - only four stations !! Bar food very good, live music on too late. Leisure centre good but changing rooms awful, too small, not enough space for more than four people to change at once. Staff friendly and courteous, will return despite these small reservations.
stayed at the pier head hotel last week enjoyed my stay hotel needs a bit of t.l.c but over all enjoyed my time there. i will go back again.
We had relaxing, refreshing stay in Mullaghmore. The staff were all courteous, professional and friendly. The hotel was fresh and modern. A bit of decorating wouldn't go amiss, and some carpets could do with a freshen up, but hey, we're in a recession. All in all, very happy with reasonably priced, comfortable stay in beautiful surroundings. Would happily go again, Two satisfied Pier Head Hotel customers
Room was a bit small, but got a better room with great veiw next day, food was ok, not many beef choices. would go again only if we got sea view rooms, not much places to chill out and relax with a sea veiw. Area very nice and staff as well.
the pier head hotel is right on mullaghmore harbour, with beautifull views of the bay.the pool and facilities are excellent. The bar food was great.try the chowder and the fish dishes.nice walks on the local beach, gary Dublin
Only stayed here for one night and would definately return, nice setting and dinner was first class (which was included in our deal) rooms bit on the small side but still nice and clean, friendly staff, it was a Saturday night and the band in the bar was good, it was quite busy and seemed to attract a mixture of clients, young and old!
Our favourite hotel. We have stayed in the Pier Head many times since we first discovered it. Amazing views! Love the facilities: pool, sauna, hot tub etc. Staff are friendly. The pub is cosy and usually has live music on Saturdays. Unfortunately, the music starts quite late, after 11 pm. Great place for a weekend away!
We did enjoy our stay here. We needed the rest , the peace and the views were spectacular. We found staff to be really friendly and helpful. The food was very tasty and presented well. The facilities were more than sufficient. Good music in the lounge on the Saturday night. However housekeeping could improve. Where the entrance if very presentable, on going to the room, I found that the bathroom walls had stains on them. The curtains in the bedroom were also stained. Also the bed was not comfortable as it was very hard. No give in it. Otherwise it was clean but a bit tacky. The commom area of the stairwell was dirty along with dumping of equipmnet under the stairs. Carpets here needed to cleaned or better still repalced with an alternative. There was a general air of poor housekeeping in the hotel with broken window handles, torn wallpaper, cobwebs around the place, damp in some places, untidiness. This let the hotel down but if this area was worked on it would certainly improve the experience of staying there. Regards
Very nice hotel,beautyful area,good food,friendly staff
found it to be clean and tidy with very helpful staff. Spectacular views . Well done Lidl for getting it on your list of accomadation
The hotel location is fabulous, but we really felt that the hotel was seriously lacking in its attention to small details. Room was very small and the bathroom was similar to those that i have had as an en suite in a hostel. Breakfast was good once you were down early, and we found the bar food to be fine. There can be a lot of noise from the bar after it closes and there didnt appear to be anyone you could contact in relation to this, I feel the hotel should have asked people to keep the noise levels down.
It was so good food was good and we jaut love the Hot Tub
Accomodation satisfactory, good leisure centre, nice bar, friendly staff. Breakfast excellent, dinner a bit disappointing, vegetables- over cooked and poorly presented. Overall verdict *** .
3rd time at this hotel, beautiful setting. This time was our most disappointing stay though. Given very small room, everytime u passed the bed u banged ur legs on the stupid base which sticks out below matteress. Bruised both sides!! Tried the bar for evening meal but extremely expensive not VFM had 2 toasties, 2 teas and 1 chip between us and that cost 16 euro. Please buy a toastie maker and decent ham not spam. Breakfast was very good. Cant understand though why u have to order beans and scrambled eggs which then come after everything else. The Breakfast room is what makes this hotel, the views are fabulous and the music choice is excellent, Our bedroom was also beside a very noisy drinks and food machine in hall which churned all night, neither slept. Room and Bathroom was clean enough except for Massive cobweb we discovered when lamp is switched on on desk! Staff were very helpful ( 3 remotes later we got one that worked). We hope to return but will ask for a room with a view of water not carpark. Dee Co. Tyrone
Hi, We stayed in Pier Head Hotel on 12th Feb and really enjoyed our stay. However we found the hotel bar to be very cold. Our room was warm though but small. It was very good price for a night away. Really enjoyed it and hopefully to return in Summer when the weather is better!! Beautiful Location.
great weekend,staff excellent.i will definitely reuturn,thanks a lot.
Excellent location, great value for money the location is beautiful very easy to find yet hidden away as soon as you see the sign for Mullaghmore a whole new world opens up. I found the rooms very clean and neat a bit on the small side but not too sure if that was just our room. Great place for kids also of all ages. There is a pub next door to the hotel which is also owned by the hotel which caters for all ages and the food there is excellent. All in all my family and myself really had a good time.
Hotel was very good. Feel they have the monopoly on food, as it is the only place to eat in Mullaghmore Having said that, portions were generous& tasty. The staff were excellent, cheerful & helpful. Rooms are a bit on the small side & I would have liked somewhwere in the bathroom to put my toileteries other than the floor. I would definitely go back & found the whole stay a great value.
Enjoyed our stay. Staff excellent
rooms on the small side but could not find a fault , very clean plenty of storeage as with the en suite. bar food 2-3 euros more than what one would pay elsewhere but excellent in quality and quanity. never being to a hotel where drink prices are so low e.g. guinness 3.70 ale 3.60 and larger 4.00 and if kids are with you only 2.00 per soft drink , shorths are from 3.70 to 4.00 euros , big glass wine 4.85 breakfast like the bar food excellent and a wide varity . leisure center is a bonus and free of charge to residents , overall we will return to pier head
it is a lovely hotel and very nice to stay in good food
Arrived at the hotel at 2.00pm,Got key for room ,went to room and it had not been cleaned from previous occupants.Went to reception to be told I would have to wait half an hour to get it made up.Stayed Sat & Sun night.Sunday our room wasn't made up until 3.45 pm.Entertainment in bar was brillent with the people getting ready for the Donkey Derby on Sunday.Bar staff very nice.Windows in the hotel need a good clean,The view from the resturant especially.Fantastic views but disappointing windows.Food menu limited in Resturant, better menu in bar.A few candles on the table in the evenings in the resturant wouldn't go a miss.A lot of staff not being managed on the Sunday,it was bussy but young staff talking to each other oblivious to outside tables not being cleared leaving empty glasses not been attended too. Dressing rooms in pool not big enough to cater for more than three people at a time.Sauna was broken and steam room was basic. Beautiful part of Ireland to visit.Hotel is good but needs to fine tune basic needs of the clients.Just general cop on is needed.
Very friendly and the facilities were great for a 3 star hotel. Will be returning again in the future.
Four star value staff very attentive, food good and nice atmosphere
The hotel is set in a beautiful location and the views from our room was spectacular. Food also was very good in the bar and at breakfast. If I had to complain about anything it would be the same as previous review the noise from other bedroom doors they banged very loudly otherwise we loved our stay and hopefully will return again soon.
excellent = staff very helpful
Had a wonderful visit. Especially enjoyed the breakfast. If I had to find fault somewhere it would be the slamming doors in the hallway and adjacent room(s) late at night. If the springs could be adjusted to close them more gently it would be appreciated :)
Nice location and a nice room. A little basic though, no tea/coffee facilities in the room and no extra pillows. Unfortunately our room was just above the bar and was very noisy as there was music for the bank holiday weekend. Breakfast was ok, a little dried out. We left our car on the street outside the hotel and it was damaged during the night. The receptionist was very helpful to us in this matter. It was good value for money, but can be noisy at the weekends and be careful where you park your car.
Lovely hotel, the food was really nice and the staff were really helpful. The view from the rear of this hotel was something else. I would highly recommend this hotel to families and couples
The accommadition was comfortable, the location excellent and the leisure centre was very relaxing. The breakfast menu was restricted to a grill every morning. The resident dinner menu left a lot to be desired. There were very few choices of food, for a 2 course meal. I would suggest that a 2/3 nights BB plus 1 dinner pps would be more popular. Guest would have more choice from other menus. Being near the sea, fish dishes were few , which was disappointing.
