An ideal base for exploring this famous region and is a destination in its own right, whether you are looking for a family or weekend break in Wexford or you are just passing by.
Nice clean hotel and friendly staff.
Fantastic hotel food was superb and hotel staff and receptionist were very helpful
Happy with hotel service
Stayed here for the weekend. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Hotel was immaculate and our room was very nice and warm, the balcony was a nice surprise as we did not request it. Pool and gym were good too. The only feedback I would give is to introduce some entertainment for guests especially on weekends. Would stay here again!
Fabulous hotel, efficiently ran, with pleasant staff..
Good food, friendly, helpful, good standards all round A+++
Lovely comfortable room. Good choice of delicious food. Enjoyed the Saturday night entertainment. Will definitely return to the Maldron, Wexford
Really injoyed the food in the hotel only fault we had there was no remote control for the TV all weekend bit disappointed with that.
Found staff very attentive nothing to big or to small if you required it .Food quite good room large and spacious
The hotel was fine, clean rooms, descent services, and friendly staff. The hotel is mostly for those who come for the weekend to socialise in Wexford town, so the atmosphere is aligned with relatively loud socialising. I would regard it as a sleeping hotel, as there are no function rooms and no other parties involved. It served it's purpose for what we wanted. I never tried the leisure centre, swimming pool, etc, but I'm sure it's good.
Yes the hotel is situated conveniently and is very nice.
Got there at 1pm had checked in online was told room wasn’t ready but they would prioritise it. Was told they would phone me. Checked with receptionist at 3pm after watching lots of people check in, still not ready. Checked at 4pm & room ready but no call. Disappointing. Also no room service available? Had to go to the bar to collect our food. But room was clean & spacious, food delicious, staff friendly.

Really pleasant check in and room was ready early. Nice spacious clean room. Swimming pool was great fun for the kids. Dinner and music in the bar was super. Breakfast was delicious everything was fresh, the kids loved the pancakes! All staff were so friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back.
Spotless hotel. The staff were excellent obviously well trained They all engaged in a very friendly manner and we commented on it
It was my husbands birthday the hotel staff but a complimentary birthday plate and box of chocolates in our room. Staff was very friendly would stay again!
Very good value for money. Lovely big room and food excellent
The staff were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and warm. The only thing that didn’t impress me was the Lunch and dinner menu. I felt there wasn’t much of a choice it was quite restricted. But I would definitely stay again and recommend it.
Beautiful hotel very friendly staff and food was delicious I will be booking again
Great value. Food fabulous. Very relaxing and enjoyable. Staff very friendly

My wife and I enjoyed this hotel. The fine roomy bed rooms , and comfy beds ,the lovely breakfast ,all you can eat.The wonderful welcoming and ever helpfull staff, made our stay so enjoyable It is out of town, yet so close to all the attractions of the area.We will be back, soon.
Nice rooms at a perfect temperature. Food was good and staff were very friendly and helpful. Pool was warm and Steamroom/Jacuzzi/Sauna all worked. Changing rooms could do with some updating but was fine. Would have liked a more comfortable bar/lounge area (very Cafe-ish) but that’s a personal view. Would definitely go back. 2 playgrounds, outdoor checkers, football area and nice garden too. Very good for families.
I would highly recommend this hotel staff were very friendly especially young lad Liam o reilly went above and beyond for us in the bar restaurant rooms were spotless clean food was beautifull. hotel receptionist was very helpful along with the hotel manager denis who went above and beyond for us as well.i will book the maldron hotel when I travel to Wexford again Fred and Vivienne kavanagh Co.meath

Great atmosphere from start to finish in all parts of the hotel so friendly, definitely stay there again
Lovely location staff Lovely hotel spotless
I would definitely recommend the Maldron Hotel Wexford the staff were very friendly from when we arrived to when we were leaving. They couldn't have been more helpful. The food was excellent and I will certainly be back to stay
Staff nice and helpful. Rooms cleaned daily. Plenty parking. Breakfast very good with great selection. Leisure centre adequate. Restaurant food not great. Thin walls between rooms. People outside in courtyard late at night can be heard even with windows and trickle filters shut. Overall though, good value.
Lovely hotel, very spacious rooms. Beds very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent
Beautiful hotel. Room was spacious and spotless. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Perfect for a quiet weekend away. Definitely will return
Room excellent Service and stall great
Great price friendly staff and great quality for the price paid .used the leisure centre which was great .
Nice big room had a lovely stay
Room spotless but did have a bad smell. Probably as much to do with hot weather and previous clients. Staff very helpful and pleasant.
Very enjoyable stay at this hotel ,rooms lovely ,beds comfortable, staff very friendly. Overall a very enjoyable stay would recommend to anybody. Very family orientated will go back
excellent hotel, takes a bit to get used to their internet system but it does work
Gorgeous hotel very clean spacious room with a balcony friendly staff very family friendly kiddies park crazy golf and garden area to sit out we didn't use the pool so can't comment on that. Are in the bar food was gorgeous and plentiful served by tia who was chatty and friendly will definitely stay again

Beautiful hotel staff very friendly we stayed in a fabulous large double room with a balcony will highly recommend
This hotel is absolutely wonderful, room with a balcony, fantastic friendly and helpful staff and food was great. Will definitely return.
Nice hotel for touring Wexford.
Lovely relaxing stay comfortable room, great leisure centre and a big choice of breakfast menu not walking distance to town for most people only negative
Lovely hotel very nice staff nice food, nice room, would go back in the future.
Staff were lovely and helpful but the hotel is badly in need of refurbishment. The carpets on the stairs and in the hallways is dirty and threadbare. The food for breakfast was OK but food in the bar is of a very poor standard. The tea pots in the breakfast room were filthy inside.
hotel was nice we had room 433 on 4th floor with a balconey.Only problem room was freezing ,we arrived at 3.30pm on Sunday no heating on went into Wexford town came back still no heating rang down at 5pm and 8pm to see why.Somebody toke us up a small hand blow heater?Explained i had sat with my coat on for most of time in room.Wanted to get shower and get ready for dinner in the end so cold just changed again went to reception to ask said they would send someone uo again.it was a wet and miserable day in Wexford when we stayed.Food was nice and reasonable priced.Bar was busy with no back round music just sky news on in backround on tv.No atmosphere.
The staff were very nice and the accommodation was good value for money
Just outside wexford, there is a local bus service passing which is a handy way to town. Food and the bar are a bit limited but still fine,
I was pleasure to stay in this hotel twin room was lovely looking out 2front view staff very helpful and we asked for gluten free breakfast after we arrived and it was all there for us in morning very happy customer will use this hotel again
Great hotel. Lovely big rooms.. Staff are so friendly and polite and willing to help in any way they can...food was good.. Garden and outdoor area lovely.. Have mini playground and golf for the children.
We were very pleaded with our stay. Nice food & comfortable room with nice view . Hotel in very good location.
The Maldron staff are very efficient and pleasant , Room nice modern and airy Very good location Food very nice and good value
Absolutely fantastic hotel. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Excellent taxi from hotel very funny man. Beautiful breakfast. Room Excellent.
Very nice hotel ,good value, very friendly staff,We will be back in the future.Regards David and Martina
Great hotel ...super friendly staff..so helpful ..very clean and only 4 Kms from Wexford town so great location ..
Very enjoyable break. Staff lovely. We'll organised under the circumstances at current time
Had lovely stay in maldron hotel would go back again .food was lovely staff were nice .got bus from outside hotel into wexford town instead of driving was very handy .
Lovely basic hotel, lovely breakfast. Room clean with tea&coffee facilities. Lovely bath in bathroom. Iron etc also in room
Enjoyed our stay Felt v safe with regard to adhering to restrictions Breakfast was very nice Staff v friendly Thank you
Lovely clean and spacious rooms. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Would like more choice on the menu but in saying that our food was tasty
One thing which I would strongly suggest is the hotel install net curtains to all windows,as the bedrooms are overlooked, otherwise you have to pull the heavy curtains across for privacy which means you need to switch on the lighting as the room becomes dark even during the day,the hotel would save on electricity big time, the breakfast was acceptable
Good value Lovely staff Clean and comfortable Nice breakfast
Had a lovely stay, all staff very nice and helpful especially Ciara on reception. Breakfast and dinner all delicious, great variety for breakfast. I have to say again all staff were lovely, I am sure I will be back for another great stay.
Always great service
Great hotel modern with a leisure club, fully booked but understandably because of covid, the breakfast was delicious, highly recommend, lea and coffee in bedroom, stylish room, all in all very nice hotel, would recommend.
All the staff are fantastic. We had dinner in the hotel which was fabulous. Great value for money. Very strict covid rules so felt very safe.
Practically all fine, very helpful staff, enjoyed rooms, mealtimes and swims with the kids. It was two double beds in each of the two family rooms, perhaps we might have specified otherwise. The sound of the musican below was very audible in one room on one night but perhaps that's to be expected. Overall a very enjoyable stay.
Pros: Happy in terms of facilities. Cons: The room still has a smell of cigarettes. Perhaps, since the time when smoking was allowed, nothing has been changed. Breakfast could be better - quite dry and tasteless.
I would not recommend this hotel as we had a terrible time staying here. Firstly had to wait over an hr for our room at check in which was meant to be 3pm and was quarter to 5 when we got our room. Secondly the heating never came on during the night as a result had to take our 9 month old to doctor yesterday and on antibiotic. Then was kept awake for about 3 hours during the night due to a hen party below us. I've been onto the hotel management and they apologized for the problems and hopefully they will start to improve the hotel now.
Pool lovely and room fine but bar food absolutly awful..had to return a pizza which was basically a frozen pizza that had a bit of pineapple on top and bar manager didnt even apologise...
Really good location. On arrival check in was quick and easy, with Robin explaining where everything was located. Room was really nice. Two double beds, spotlessly clean, really nice bathroom. Plenty of wardrobe space. The fitness club facilities are excellent. Staff there are very welcoming. Pool, steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi are all very well maintained and clean. Only slight gripe was when dining in the bar. We had to order a drink twice and barman tried to then charge us twice for the same drink. We just put it down to miscommunication and was resolved very quickly.
Very pleasant stay, staff were friendly, great atmosphere, nice clean hotel, breakfast very good choice. I would certainly recommend this hotel. Very good value and good location with many attractions to see or just chill in the hotel pool/ spa. 5 stars
excellent only booked for one night on spur of the moment trip with my partner and two kids. the hotel had all the kids wanted swimming pool crazy golf because the weather was not that great. It was only a short distance to Wexford town and beaches. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful i wish i had arranged another night or two and will be in the future. We had our evening meal in the bar because the restaurant was booked out with some party but it was perfectly comfortably and the kids loved it because they were treated with genuine warmth from the lovely staff. the family room was great every thing we needed and loads of room. 10 out of 10
Overall we had a good experience at the Maldron in Wexford however I have some feedback around the management and communication where there is room for improvement. On the day that we arrived the pool was closed for the day due to unforeseen circumstances. We were not offered an alternative and our two boys (5 & 6) were very disappointed as we were only staying for one night. When I went back down to see what our options were the staff at the leisure centre said we might be able to use the leisure pool at their sister hotel - Whites. They took my mobile number which I confirmed was correct and said they would contact me with an update. We left the hotel to go for a drive. On my way out I asked to speak to the manager. He told me there was no way the other hotel would be insured to take the hotel guests from the Maldron and offered me complimentary crazy golf. The weather was bad so I declined. That night when I was picking the kids up from the kids club I met one of the staff from the leisure centre I had been dealing with earlier. He maintained he had tried to ring me 3 times as 5 families from the hotel went over to Whites to use their leisure facilities. I found this very frustrating and when I checked my mobile I had no missed calls. When I pointed out to the staff member that the manager had assured me there was no way the guests would be able to use the facilities in Whites, he said "we weren't in communication with management". The Kids club was great, the breakfast and leisure facilities were also very good. We would definitely return to the Maldron in Wexford but would recommend that there is room for improvement around staff communication and customer service. I feel that an alternative option should have been offered to us immediately without us having to chase it and I'm frustrated that we did not get to use the other hotels facilities because of very poor communication.
Lovely family friendly hotel. Have been here a few times over the last few years and the hotel never disappoints. There's a really lovely relaxed atmosphere. Plenty for the kids to do, our son loves the swimming pool and the outdoor playground and they even have board games in the bar to help keep kids entertained. Bar and Restaurant food is always fabulous Only a five minute drive to Wexford town Leisure max bowling, Mcdonalds and Omniplex cinema only a five minute drive also Plenty to see and do around Wexford Staff always willing to help Will definately be back to stay again
had to change room because of trouble with toilet.breakfast cold and everything was stale, had to wait ten minutes for fried egg and another ten minutes for some jam. Very poor staff.would not rate any star
we enjoyed our overnight stay at the maldron..VERY HELPFUL STAFF..Would stay again..Michael Kilkenny.
Where to begin, it started off with no ham or coleslaw available at lunchtime on Monday and all the high chairs filthy with crumbs and spills. Then when our room was ready, we went up to see workmen drilling and sawing outside the room fixing a door frame, how our baby was going to nap through that I don't know but there was a saving grace they had given us a key to someone else's room full of their belongings, thank god no one was in the room when we bust in. We went straight back down to receptionist who just brushed it off as “you can tell its Monday". The next room had its faults ; the window's on the ground floor opened fully which is a security and Health & Safety issue ; presses in the room were all chipped but we wanted to settle in and start our break. It then took them 3 hrs. to get a cot to the room which turned out to be completely banjaxed and unfit for animal to sleep. Baby had to nap in his pram. The pool area and playground were fine; it would be handy to have cubicles in the changing rooms so kids don't wonder when you’re getting changed. The evening meal in the restaurant was a disaster. My partner has food allergies, we informed the Hotel on three separate occasions before we sat down for the meal, they told us they would be able to accommodate us. During the meal one of her allergens was found amongst their dinner. This lead to a lot distress for us, we had to sit in our room just to make sure there was no reaction which meant the kids were confined to the room for a few hours before bedtime. After speaking to the Duty Manger/maintenance man/waiter/receptionist, he agreed to refund our stay and not charge for the meal but we had to do this all at reception as there were inadequate staff levels. We decided we would leave the next morning and stay in another Hotel, but the nearest hotel available was 20 km away. The next morning there was a smell of vomit all over reception and the breakfast room and three of the four toilets in the gents were blocked and no toilet roll in any cubicle. The breakfast was fine otherwise. We meet the General Manger at checkout, who listened to our complaints and apologised for their fall down in communication between the kitchen and the staff. She offered to pay for our accommodation in our next Hotel and free pass to a family park. Overall disregarding those two major issues ( wrong room & meal), the Hotel is very grubby, the floors are well worn and need replacing and the overall cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired ; the beds were uncomfortable and the presses in the room were all chipped and need replacing too.
Nice hotel. No luxuries around but does the job for a quick holiday.
The hotel was lovely , it was spotless & the food was delicious. We have no small kids but there was plenty facilities for them in this hotel. The staff were kind & very helpfull. There was only one small thing, management should consider putting a net curtain on the windows as we were on thr 1st floor facing the car park & everyone ine could see into our room. Otherwise than that we enjoyed our stay & would stay there again.
Great Stay, will be back
kids had a ball with the crazy golf , pool & playground also good value for money on the kids buffet breakfast @ €5ea. also the live music in the bar sat ngt was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel for family weekend breaks away. rgds, the costelloe family limerick.
Stayed May 4th 2016. Overall an excellent experience. value for money 9 out of ten Room 9.5 out of ten. Shower in room not great....drainage and water pressure need attention. Also sloppy repair sealing bath tub surround. 4 out of ten. Breakfast 10 out of ten. 12 noon check out 11 out of ten. Staff 9 out of ten. Bar food excellent 9 out of ten Bar service needs extra hands on deck.( 8pm 4th May ) BAR STAFF WERE FLAT OUT !!!!! Note to management ....please train your bar staff to note nearly empty or empty glasses etc., and respond with a request ...."would you like another?."etc. ( increase in sales guaranteed.) Also please remove empties when a new drink is served. Even getting a junior member of staff to clear and clean the tables thus allowing serving staff to serve more efficiently .......more sales......happier customer......win win Perhaps a member of house keeping could be co opted to the bar clear and clean function during busy periods. I have great respect for housekeeping staff as they prepare the product. If this is not done then all other functions in the hotel are pointless. Well done house keeping. NOTICED CIGARETTE VENDING BUT NONE FOR LITTLE LATE NIGHT NIBBLES MAYBE A VENDING MACHINE SELLING OVERNIGHT NEEDS SUCH AS ADAPTORS FOR CHARGING MOBILE PHONES ETC. BATHROOM REQUIREMENTS, SUCH AS TOOTH BRUSH, TOOTHPASTE, SHAMPOOS,SEWING KITS, ETC . SHOULD BE PROVIDED ALONG WITH HEALTHY SNACKS AND DRINKS (GLUTEN AND SUGAR FREE). RATHER THAN PROMOTING CIGARETTES. O.K THANKS FOR READING MY REVIEW. WOULD I COME BACK AGAIN...........YES. WILL I RECOMMEND THE MALDRON TO MY ASSOCIATES...ALREADY AM. martin@eastvendors.ie :)
Excellent hotel and staff. Would recommend. Kids had a fantastic time. Swimming pool is lovely.
stayed one nite hotel was lovely evening meal was lovely and breakfast.pool was good too.service could be a little better.would stay again
room could be cleaner. Bedding on the old side. Pool very good, grandaughters enjoyed it very much. Kids club was good fun for the kids.
We had a really nice, relaxing two day mid week break with our two boys, we've stayed in the Maldron many times and always have a great time. The staff are very friendly and the hotel facilities are fab. I would highly recommend the Maldron for a family break.
Had a lovely weekend staff so friendly and helpful food excellent we were offered umbrella when we were going shopping.what more would you want from such a lovely hotel.
We stayed for 3 nights & it was very enjoyable, when we arrived on the Monday afternoon is was approx 2.45 our room wasn't ready & we were told it wouldn't be long more, we ended up waiting over an hour & 15 mins for our room but other than that it was a very enjoyable break.
The hotel was lovely,we used the restaurant and bar ,the food was lovely as was the breakfast the next morning, the room was clean and warm ,maybe a little too warm, the only fault was the receptionist at check in, she wasn't pleasant at all, small girl wearing glasses, thankyou.
The hotel is a bit out of Wexford town but the room we had was very comfortable. The restaurant lighting could be brighter as it is very hard to read the menu in a dimly lit restaurant. Dinner was excellent however breakfast was a little cold and waiting staff could do with a bit more training.
Lovely hotel and lovely staff! Room and grounds of d hotel are very nice along with a lovely breakfast!! I would recommend the Maldron to others
every thing perfect going back soon
Staff very helpful. Rooms comfortable. Plenty parking. Good location. Short drive into Wexford (40 minute walk). Also short drive to Curracloe beach. Good value for money. All in all a good experience. Would have no hesitation in staying there again.
Good location rooms clean but need updating
Great hotel, good location. Staff were really nice. Our room was fab and we really enjoyed our stay.
the hotel is nice, slept very well as the beds were comfortable, the food was ok. there was an unfortunate shortage of staff in the lounge and dining area, tables were left un cleaned for long periods to the point where we usually cleaned them ourselves, took a long time to get a member of staff to take an order as there were so few of them and they were so busy, on one evening we waited 45 minutes to order food and 20 minutes to order some drinks. the public toilets were never clean. it was a pity really, a lot of the staff were young and over-run with work, a lot of customers were very frustrated with the situation, regards Angie
Good location, friendly & efficient Staff, leisure club lovely.. bar food needs to improve!
Lovely hotel bedroom was spacious and airy. Bathroom very modern. Breakfast was excellent plenty of selection would definitely stay here again also leisure centre was excellent
For a 3 star. this was above and beyond...Large modern room , nice gym and pool , arcade room and kids facilities such as crazy golf ,kids club and playground.Close to town. VERY CLEAN...Nice food and polite and efficient staff...Could not fault and will return .
fantastic hotel well laid out plenty parking friendly and very helpful staff great breakfast would recommend highly
Very pleasant stay in Maldron Hotel Wexford excellent value and convenient location.
On arrival very appealing - lovely reception area and bar area.Kept clean and modern. Rooms are very basic. Could have done with more pillows and blanket. Restaurant area for breakfast wasnt very appealing. self service breakfast wasnt really up to scratch.room could do with a lick of paint and good clean. Food could have been alot better. Room really needs updating and good cleaning.Food was average
Lovely family friendly hotel, stayed on Good Friday when they had a family disco with Olaf and Elsa and the guys doing the entertainment were great. We had food in the restaurant and it was lovely couldn't fault it and staff were helpful and friendly. We will be back again
Stayed here with my children & partner & family members for mothers weekend (Saturday to Monday). Rooms were average, probably could have done with refurbishing (our room faced the main road which was busy early in the mornings). Staff were nice. Pub food was ok. Took a while for your food to be served & you had to remind the waiter/waitress about your food). Kids were very disappointed as there was no crazy golf on (reason was there was a storm so we couldn't play???). Breakfast was ok
This is one of my favourite hotels. My family and I go down when we can to stay her and we have never had a problem of any kind with the hotel or staff. We have always found the staff to be more than helpful especially when a large crowd of the family and friends go down. I would highly recommend this hotel and I look forward to staying there again in the future.
stayed here on the 14th February. check in was quick and easy. rooms were ok but could do with an upgrade. staff friendly food ok. overall we had a good stay
We really enjoyed our stay, there were 8 of us in our party and everyone felt the same. The food in the restaurant and the bar was excellent, leisure facilities very good, Three of the ladies had our nails done by Agnes and found her to be very pleasant, also Ed the barman and waiter went out of his way to look after us in every way. Would not hesitate to recommend or return to the maldron hotel. Thank you for my 65th birthday weekend, and also a big thank you to lidl Regards Joan.
LOVELY STAY AT THIS HOTEL. BAR FOOD GREAT
Lovely break! Fresh crisp sheets on the bed. Attentive manager on duty. Good family hotel. Although there was 85 children staying on the same night we didn't notice! Would book again.
Had a thoroughly enjoyable break. Staff of hotel extremely helpful and facilities perfect for a family stay. Would recommend The Maldron Hotel to anyone.
Really enjoyed our stay with the Malron Hotel in Wexford. We had three children who really enjoyed the facilities the hotel had to offer, they swam, played mini glof & football. Overall staff were freindly, esp in the bar & breakfast room a special mention to the breakfast manager, who was very cherfull & friendly. would stay in this hotel again.
I stayed recently at the Maldron Hotel and found the staff very friendly. The rooms were lovely. We had dinner which was excellent and our waitor was so nice. It was a lovely place for children with a kids playground and kids pool. I would definitely return again. Ann-Marie
The hotel was fab,I would highly recomend lidl breaks to anyone,So easy to book with lidl,I will be booking my hotels from now on through lidl breaks.
Great hotel.Recently re decorated and refurnished rooms to excellent standard.Professional and friendly staff.Pity the breakfast buffet was cold both mornings
The maldron Wexford is a beautiful hotel - don't understand how it's only rated 3 star. Rooms lovely, clean, food is beautiful, excellent service, staff very friendly. It has great facilities for kids. We would definitely without a doubt return. Its a great location for touring. Definitely recommend.
I stayed in the Maldron Hotel Wexford on the 30/5/14 & 1/6/14 while the room was clean & the staff were polite ( except for a female behind the bar ) the bar area & lounge area left a lot to be desired, the tables were not been cleaned properly ,We had something to eat in the bar/lounge area & the cutlery could have been cleaner, when i went to the bar to get our first drink i had to give back the 2 drinks as they had lipstick marks around the top of the glasses, when i pointed this out to the barman he said sorry,, the lady behind the bar said that the lipstick that the women were wearing was very hard to get off the glasses i informed her that this was not acceptable, we had a meal in the restaurant on the Sunday evening the meal was lovely & the young man that served was very nice
We checked in at the hotel June bank holiday weekend. The room was in serious need of decoration, which we could cope with. There was a terrible smell not sure if it was the carpet or somebody trying to disguise the smell of smoke. The curtain had some sort of spillage running from the centre down. The lamp also had a matching red stain and one on the carpet this room was filthy. I asked to be moved and was first told they had no other family rooms so I said we would take a double and put our daughter in our bed as I could not stay in that room. I was then offered another family room. When we arrived in this room it was cleaner still very old fashioned but still a smell. When we used the toilet it would not flush. We called to reception and the duty manager arrived. He spent some time trying to correct this. He then told us it would flush if my husband pumped the handle up and down for a while. I did not see the point in moving again as I don't think they had anything better. This room was beside the door to the elevator and ever time someone came through, the door banged which kept us awake all night as it was really busy. Payment had been taken on arrival. Child stayed free and an extra 20 euro for breakfast and dinner. Restaurant was also very run down and the food really poor. My daughter was given 2 slices of frozen pizza and frozen chips. We also received a letter under the door Monday to say there was no hot water in the rooms. I checked out with the same lady who had organised the room change and was not asked had I enjoyed my stay or was the second room ok. I wonder why. I have never written a review before but this was the worst hotel I have stayed in Ireland and I have stayed in four in the last month alone. Vanessa
Very pleasant stay , staff very friendly and helpful. Good value for money
we were very impressed with both the hotel and the package. Staff were fabulous. Everywhere was clean. our meals were tastey and the menu flexibility in the restuarant was very helpful and accommodating. There was plenty to do on site and easya ccess to weford and surrounding sites, staf agin were well informed and friendly. Advice rather than criticism: it was a little confusing finding our way around to access pool, playground, golf; guest information booklet could be more specific, scones/danish for breakfast is always a welcome treat
Excellent staff, helpfully and careing ,food excellent ,cannot fault this hotel and it's our 6th stay here ,that answers everything ,highly recommended.thank you ...
Very reasonable price dinner and breakfast included and food was lovely had a huge family room so great entertainment for the child and pool was nice
crazy golf needs a good clean up as we saw broken delf left in one part of the course, withered flowers in a vase at breakfast. it would have been better to have fresh flowers or none at all. overall good value for money and we enjoyed our stay. we will be back.
Lovely hotel good quality at a great price. Really surprised at the quality of the food on offer, did not realise how good fresh seafood chowder tasted. Bringing the kids next time, an excuse to hang around the pool. Great hotel.
I do not wish to have my name published on the website. Thank you
Very nice hotel, rooms were very spacious and really good facilities. Staff were friendly and it was good value.
I booked 3 Twin Rooms and availed of the Bed, Breakfast & 2 Course Meal option. Excellent value. All of my party enjoyed the food on offer. Each room had 2 single beds and 1 double bed. Stayed in this hotel for one night with 5 friends service was excellant food lovely and staff very friendly will visit again soon. Mary
Stayed two nights. Took 3 hours to get towels and pillows for third person in party. Rooms nice and spacious. Food nice, couldn’t understand how a hotel would only have 1 ice bucket. Both nights were woken by loud revellers in hall. Crazy golf was out of action because of storms, but small clean up could have made some of the holes playable. Looked for taxi with car seat but reception tried one company and got a no. My wife googled Wexford taxis and had a taxi in 5 minutes. Pool was nice, but should have stayed open later for kids. Breakfast starting at 8 on Saturday and Sunday seemed a bit late. In general, staff nice and friendly but did not go out of their way to help. Won’t be back
I stayed here last weekend. It was very nice hotel with good facilities. The room was big and clean. Our dinner was very tasty and for the price of €49pp b&B1d it was excellent value. Close to all amenities and a shuttle service available to the Town
STAYED ONE NIGHT CELEBRATING A 50TH BIRTHDAY.B&B PLUS ONE EVENING MEAL.EVENING MEAL WAS LOVELY PLUS BREAKFAST NEXT MORNING PLENTY OF VARIETY.USED THE POOL IN THE EVENING POOL AND CHANGING AREA WELL KEPT.TEN MIN DRIVE TO THE TOWN CENTER FROM THIS HOTEL.ROOMS WERE CLEAN.OVERALL A PLEASENT STAY.WOULD BOOK THIS HOTEL AGAIN IF VISITING WEXFORD.
Great hotel, nice rooms amazing staff. We had a great time here especially enjoyed the leisure center. Would have given 5 stars if swimming pool was open later than 5pm on a saturday.Great value for money. We will definitely stay here again.
We had a nice stay !
Friendly Staff. Food reasonable. Rooms clean, warm and decent size. Entertainment was good. Overall good value for money>
The room was pleasant enough, the food excellent. The staff were very helpful and friendly. But the hotel lacked an atmosphere.
stayed for one night 18/01/2014 had a great stay could not fault this hotel the singer in the bar was excellent great value for the money clea good food great service would recommend the maldron for any family with kids aged up to 14
I stayed here last Friday. I found the hotel to be nice and clean and the staff to be very friendly apart from the lady at breakfast who was quiet grumpy. The food however was dreadful. I got pasta and garlic bread, the pasta was very oily and covered in cheese and the garlic bread was soaked with oil. My husband had pork, potatoes and veg and it tasted like it was leftover from that afternoon's carvery. The breakfast was not much better. I will not be back however if they improved their food greatly, I would consider it.
We stayed for one night and next time would stay longer! The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms spacious and clean. The only thing was the bed was a bit hard could be bit more comfy. The food was yummy. I enjoyed every bit as did the other people we were with. Great kids menu not just the usual chicken nuggets or sausages and also had a teenager menu which I thought was an excellent idea. The pool, suana, steam room and jacuzzi were very clean and big and great kids pool. Changing rooms were well equipped too. Free Wi-fi and sky tv in bar area. Children's play area and crazy golf though we didn't use as too cold but they looked great.
great value for the price. no complaints at all. just stayed one night but would go back again.
CLEAN ROOM LOADS SPACE PLENTY OF ROOM. ASKED TO HAVE OUR ROOM CHANGED AS THE KIDS IN THE ROOM ABOVE WERE NOISY AND NO PROBLEMS LOVELY QUIET ROOM. BREAKFAST IN THE RESTURANT IS TOTALLY SELF SERVICE ALTHOUGH PLENTY OF FOOD AND STAFF ON HAND TO HELP OUT. JUICES AT BREAKFAST WERE MORE WATER THAN JUICE ASIDE FROM THAT GOOD VALUE
We stayed in the Maldron hotel for one night including dinner, bed and breakfast in November. We opted for inter connecting rooms which were clean and spacious. All staff were friendly and willing to help with anything we needed. We checked out the following morning after a lovely breakfast and went shopping in Wexford, which is only 5 minutes drive away. After shopping all day we were too tired to drive all the way home to Dublin so I phoned the Maldron and was given a very good deal for two triple rooms for a second night. A lovely way to spend a weekend for 6 women, very relaxing. Great value for money.
I recently stayed in the Maldron Hotel, Wexford with two friends. We originally booked for four people but one of our friends had to drop out through ill health. We were offered a famiily room for the three of us, so that we did not incur extra charges. The room was clean and comfortable. The evening meal we had as part of the offer was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would definately recommend this hotel, and hope to stay there again at a future date. Kay
Location is fine, good at times to stay away from the city Customer service very good, lady at reception very friendly. Waitress at breakfast bar very helpful and attentive Breakfast - there were much to choose from, however, choices were not robust enough. No yoghurts etc, but they had soya milk for those with lactose problems Room was very spacious. Beds fairly comfortable but a bit tatty. Bathroom and shower facility very good. Leisure facility excellent - the pools were very good and clean. Steam room and sauna very good and clean. Staff at leisure area very helpful Nice and spacious parking area Total cost a bit high at close to €100 for just one night. Paid €10 for breakfast for my two children, but they only ate just two small sausages and a small bowl of cereal all for a tenner, that is a marketing gaffe! We visit Wexford twice a year, we will stay there again if breakfast is free for kids Score - out of 5 - 3.7 points
The hotel itself was clean the reception staff were friendly but the bedrooms smelled musty and they were damp the beds felt damp also. The bar and restaurant staff had not got a clue how to carry out orders our food was cold, orders were wrong and even after complaining to the hotel manager she still didn't listen and told staff wrong what I had complained about will never stay at this hotel again
I thought this hotel was good value for money. It was clean and comfortable, had lovely food and easy to find. I would recommend it.
Great break. Lovely big family room with balcony, spotless clean. Nice food and friendly staff.
I stayed in the Maldron on the 12th of October, we were a group of 6, in 3 separate rooms. All 3 rooms were large, spacious, immaculate and airy. There was plenty of tv stations available, and the reception was great. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant (i haven't had roast beef as tender or tasty in long time!), the service was quick and efficient, and the staff were very chatty and welcoming. We had some drinks in the bar, there was entertainment that night, more suited to the oldeer generation but it was better than nothing at all! We had a lovely cooked breakfast the following morning, there was a long queue for the toaster, which should be looked at..but we resorted to the brown bread in the end. I would definitely recommend this to friends, and will be returning with my partner and son, because it is very family friendly with playground etc for kids.
Food was fantastic......staff extremely helpful.....generally enjoyable....no major complaints.....
lovely hotel staff very nice
The room was clean, the facilities adequate and the staff were friendly. Overall good value for money.
I would like to express how disappointed our stay with the Maldron hotel was on the 18th -22nd Aug, I had made a booking months previous as I wanted to be assured there would be a wheelchair accessible room I telephoned the hotel on two separate occasions and both times was guaranteed there was.... this was not the case on our arrival, to say your hotel is wheelchair friendly is not the case as a wheelchair does not have the space to fit between the beds! shower facilities was a nightmare as i am unsure if you are aware that most people in a wheelchair cannot access a shower via overstepping into a bath! open shower facility is required here.. the 1st room we had for the 1st night my husband could not even access the bathroom this is totally unacceptable in my opinion. The phone line did not work and had to be replaced, I asked for extra pillows and a member of your staff came along with the required amount but didn't have the time to put pillow cases on them. I also made inquiries as to the kids club which i was told was running the days we were booked and again this was not the case it did not start until the Tuesday we were there from Sunday! We had two very disappointed kids.. when i had left them on the Tuesday I was not made aware that they had to be collected at a different location from where they had been dropped off which resulted in me looking around for 10 mins for my children. I would like to express how friendly and helpful the gentleman dealing with overall situation on arrival was for this I thank him sincerely. Overall it was not a pleasant or comfortable stay for all No facilities for wheelchair down to the leisure complex or games room to balcony areas these all need careful attention for future people with special needs. Stayed with the wife and 3 kids for 4 nights and it was the.perfect base to explore the south east . Hotel is perfect for families mostly .. Might not suit couples due . Loads of kids around . Food was very good , with a good choice , leisure centre and pool was grand . Staff were very nice and helpful when approached Rooms are ok , beds have seen a good few years though !!we got a family room with a double bed and 3singles .. Which was great !!The maldron is very good value hotel ,you want more luxury ? Go to a 4 /5 star !! overall would stay again booked through the Lidl breaks website .baz and family in galway
Good family venue. Good value nice rooms and lots for the kids to do
We stayed here for a short family break. There was a kids club, but at 5 Euro an hour, was far too expensive, also there had to be at least five kids enrolled for the activities to go ahead. The room was clean enough, but there was a lot of traffic noise, so we didn't sleep too well. I would say that the beds were old, and not that comfortable. On one day when it was raining, I asked the receptionist if there was any place worth visiting, or a shopping centre to go to,she replied "not really".The only two good things were the waiting staff in the dining room, and the food.
We booked a family room in the Maldron for 2 nights last week. It was our first time there & most certainly our last. The room was lovely & spacious & clean. The 1st morning of breakfast they ran out of bread at 9.30am. The sausages were raw. The guy serving breakfast had to keep running in & out of the kitchen to restock his hot plates. It took 20 minutes to try order our dinner that evening, Our burgers were all dried out & the children got 2 chicken gougons & chips with their dinner. We also got dinner with no cutlery. Next day we went for a swim & the chlorine was so strong we had to get out of the pool. When I suggested the chlorine was too strong I was told it was the air conditioning that caused the sore eyes????? On leaving the hotel on the Wednesday morning & was asked if everything was ok? I said no so the lady told me to fill out a comment sheet at the side of the reception & put it in the box. When I went to fill out a comment sheet there was no pen!!!!!!! At that point I took the sheet & left the hotel to never ever return again.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for just the one night and I have to say we thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The room was very spacious and extremely clean. The shuttle bus from the hotel to the town is very well organised and exceptionally good value at just 3 euro per person each way. We will certainly be making a return visit. Well done to all the staff at the Maldron
I loved our stay in the Maldron hotel... The staff were great. Swimming pool etc and good entertainment for young children. The breakfast was delicious too. We had a good sized family room with a balcony. The hotel is a 5 minute drive into Wexford town. I would recommend this hotel.
We had a very very relaxing stay, this is a very family friendly hotel, the staff were so welcoming, & friendly. They cover all areas for both adults and kids in they have a play area for the kids so the adults can relax and enjoy a coffee /beer. The food was fab, WE have suggested this Hotel to friends with kids, we will be returning to stay again , well done to all at the Maldron & thank you again for everything. Carmel & George Doyle
Stayed for 2 nites. Kids had a great time . Staff were very friendly and swimming pool Great for the kids. Had an enjoyable break
We really enjoyed our stay here its clean staff food and facilities were great would definitely go back
Happy with hotel, the staff were pleasant and accommodating and the food was nice. We would go again.
Had a very enjoyable stay in the Maldron. Staff extremely nice and friendly. Food good. Only complaint i have was our room was located overlooking the ring road which was quiet noisy with traffic. Unfortunetly there was no air conditioning in the room either, normally for Ireland we dont need it but we stayed on a particular hot night and the room was stiffling hot and if you left the window open you could hear the noise from the road. Leisure centre very good.
Totally enjoyed our stay here,Brian and Les the 2 managers were fantastic they couldn't have done more to look after us.Thank you so much and our Lidl break was such good value.THANKS SO MUCH :)
Our second time to stay at the maldron. Nice family orientated hotel, plenty for the children to do, pool, crazy golf and small play area, staff are lovely and very helpful, the only downfall we would have would be the food, breafast was overcooked and quite greasy, other than that we enjoyed our stay. We will be back!
staff very friendly, family room very spacious, room very clean and staff very plesant and helpful
Excellent value, helpful staff, rooms were large clean , restaurant food was very good - hard to find fault for the price. Will be back. It is prob 10 drive to town.
This was a lovely hotel. The bedrooms were spacious, and plenty of room for the 4 of us. Very clean and done out to a high standard. We tried out the pool, the kids loved it!! The food was also very nice. Overall we were very impressed and would definitely go back to this Hotel.
Me and my boyfriend spent the weekend in the maldron and we did enjoy our stay, the rooms were lovely, bed was very comfy, staff were very friendly and the leisure facilities were lovely! However, I wasn't impressed with the food, I ordered steak but couldn't eat it as it was that tough. I also found the room too warm and the windows didn't open enough to air it out. The one thing thay really annoyed me was, we had the "do not disturb" sign on the door and the cleaning staff walked in. Apart from that it was a lovely stay!
I ENJOYED MY STAY WITH AT THE HOTEL STAFF WERE VERY GOOD VERY HELPFULL FOOD WAS LOVELY ROOMS WERE VERY GOOD I WILL GO BACK AGAIN
Great location for exploring around Wexford. Leisure centre facilities were excellent. Staff friendly. Would recommend it particularly for families with small children.
Booked a family suite, one double and two single beds with lots of room. Would only recommend this hotel for families with young children. Plenty of facilities to keep children entertained, swimming pool, playgroung, games room and crazy golf. The hotel also issued a time that two family film would be showing in the room. not impressed by food and it doesnt cater too much for families. The children had a great time and are asking when they can return.
We had a great stay the staff were very friendly and could not do enough to help. We had swimming and sauna's included as part of our stay and this was great for the kids. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel tofamily and friends.
Nice and big family rooms and excellent staff and other services (pool area, restaurant etc)
Had a lovely mid week break. Staff very friendly, food fabulous, ( we had breakfast, lunch & dinner) Hotel was busy while there and I feel more staff is needed to cover the bar.. .
Staff on reception and in the bar were so friendly and helpful. Great location. Room was comfortable and spacious. The leisure center was lovely. Would definitely stay again!
Great hotel realy enjoyed our stay. Staff were exelent very friendly. Had bar food one night it was very good. Breakfast on both mornings very good. Hotel very child friendly and lots for then to do. Would stay there again.
I was disappointed at our stay recently at the Maldron Hotel, may I start off by saying the reception staff, breakfast and dinner staff were very friendly and efficient,I was disappointed by the lack of atmosphere in the hotel,I was staying at the Hotel with my two daughters who were looking forward to going to the Spa which was advertised on the website as the Body and Soul Salon but this facility was closed,in short we were happy with the Pool and Gym and the meals were good, and we were well looked after by the staff, but were put off by the lack of atmosphere and the Salon being closed, however it was still good value for money.
Booked a 2 Night Stay in Maldron Wexford. Left at end of first day. I thought the Rooms were poor, very small uncomfortable beds, not exactly ideal for a getaway for a couple, more suited to a Family probably. I thought the food was average and overpriced for what it was, and I thought the standard of service, with the honourable exception of one of the lounge staff, was also poor. It shouldn't be that difficult for staff to talk to customers and explain they are waiting or in a queue or that they will be with them in a minute rather than leaving them standing there just waiting like lemons. I wouldn't stay here again, in fact I wouldn't actually stay in a Maldron again.
I stayed with my 2 children aged 4 and 11 and I must say we had a great weekend. We have stayed in this hotel a few times before and would definitely stay here again. Ciara and Laura in the kids club were brilliant at keeping both my children entertained so that I could enjoy some me time! The only thing I would have to complain about was that our room was situated on the 3rd floor above the bar and when they had music in the bar I could hear it clearly in my room. I mentioned this to the girl in reception on Saturday morning and she did try her best to move us but the hotel was so busy it was not possible. Luckily my children go to bed early and are heavy sleepers so the music only kept me awake. Next time I would request a room in the other side of the hotel. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and look forward to going back!
I was very disappointed with the hotel. We had to change rooms the bed was broke , The staff in the restaurant were run of their feet, no one asked was the food ok, My friend got a piece of plastic in their dessert. They ran out of breakfast the next morning, we where nearly an hour waiting on it, on another note the hotel was clean and the staff were nice and friendly .
had a great time in the hotel had no problems at all food lovely and staff very nice
We all had a very good experience. The hotel was in a good location on the outskirts of the town. The staff were both friendly and efficient. The rooms were clean and tidy and the food was top notch every time. The leisure centre was also fantastic. Overall, I couldnt fault the place.
Stayed at the Maldron Hotel Wexford last Saturday. It was perfect for our short stopover and close to town. Staff were extremely courteous, pleasant and very helpful. Room was lovely, clean and myself and my husband had a choice of three beds in which to sleep! Breakfast was very good and chef cooked our poached eggs to order. Staff in the dining room again were really helpful. It was very good value at €59 per room and B&B. We'd stay again. Catherine
Lovely hotel, food very good.Leisure centre excellent.I found the room cold, heating came on for short time at night. The room was at the end of the corridor ,looking out onto a roundabout for Roslare.Traffic nonstop very noisy.
Reception staff and catering staff 5 star. Food was excellent, really positive break. Bar staff could be quicker and more engaging with customers. Overall strongly recommend.
Hi Just stayed there at the weekend for 2 nights really enjoyed it only thing I could fault is the location its too far from the town its an hours walk apart from that the staff are very friendly and polite and the food was lovely Tracy Dublin
We had a lovely weekend here. Staff very helpful and friendly. Had dinner both nights delicious.
Lovely hotel, very spacious rooms . Staff very friendly and helpfull. Meals good and reasonably priced. We stayed on a Saturday night and there was a good athmosphere and sing song in bar . Would most defenitly stay again.
Excellent facilities. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very family friendly and the food in the restaurant is delicious and very reasonably priced. I would recomend this hotel to any family for a weekend break. If I had one minor gripe it is that the hotel doesn't provide shower caps. My wife requested one and I was surprised that none was available as I've always seen these available in any hotel where I've stayed. This is just minor and I wouldn't let anyone be put off staying here on that account.
Nice hotel with great service , if it could be transported into the heart of Wexford town it would be Ideal :-) Staff are very professional and very pleasant to deal with , food was great and the kids entertainment was excellent Mark
My husband, two children and I have stayed in this hotel on numerous occasions as it is very family friendly, with playground, crazy golf, swimming pool, games room and kids club facilities. The rooms have decent beds for everyone, are warm, clean and not cramped. The buffet breakfast is fine and extra cost for kids breakfast is minimal so overall stay is excellent value. Wexford town is a short drive away and has plenty of attractions. The only downside to our trip was that there was no kids club running even though it was a bank holiday weekend and I had booked places for my kids before our trip with the hotel receptionist.
while i love this hotel and spent the weekend there i was disappointed there was no kids club on for the weekend, considering there were loads of children staying
Fantasic service, I would stay at the Maldron Hotel again and recommend this hotel.
The hotel was very hard to find as its so remote. Arrival i was pleasently suprised, nice outside and receptionist was nice. When we entered the hotel room (333) i wasnt very pleased at all. The table has ketchup hardened on the side of it, wall in bathroom had orange soap on it clear as day, breakfast table was broken, one wafer pillow on the bed, the plaster around and over the window was cracking peeling and falling down everywhere!!!! Bathroom, disgusting!! Tiles broken, green mould all over tiles in shower. Breakfast was served in our rokm which we paid for, order was always wrong which was really disappointing. Dinner in the bar wasnt great but in restaurant was much better except i ordered the steak said well done but whole center was raw and bleeding and for someone who coildnt bare to eat that i left it on the plate clesr to see and was still charged the supplement which wss really disappointed. Didnt want to fuss and send it back. Bottom line, spend a little more and stay somewhere better if for more than 1 night.
I stayed in the Maldron Last weekend with my Partener John food great staff very helpfull rrooms very clean will be back Regards Geraldine
Had a great stay at the Maldron Hotel Wexford, did have a small issue with regards to heating but this was soon resolved by the managers: Brian and Tom, both very helpful. The stay was well worth the money and the breakfast was excellent value, plenty of food and tea/coffee. The room was large and spotless as was the bathroom and the beds were made up each day along with the room being cleaned and coffee/tea/milk/soaps being replenished. Also loved the swimming pool and other facilities, would definitely book again and recommend to others. Had dinner there on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon; really enjoyable.
found staff on reception very pleasent and helpful hotel facilities excellent myself partner and our 18month old boy enjoyed ourselves in pool and playground the dinner was excellent and on our first night tried bar food it two was great value would definitley reccomend hotel to anybody looking for kid friendly hotel facilities in room were also a good standard the whole hotel staff wer very attentive and would find it hard get that stantard in 5 star hotel ten minute drive and were in wexford town wer plenty of trawlers and sites to see and shopping
Positive experience, good family room with Double & 2 singles, Leisure centre had adult and childrens pool. Outside small playground and a crasy golf course which is good fun. Had some food in lounge and no complaints, Breakfast self service. Good overall family experience.
Had a great stay in the maldron.Staff were very friendly, food was good and of course the offer we got from your web site was great value will look into you again for a bargain so thank you.
Great price for a gigantic room. Could've brought a couple more kids with us! Despite the hotel only having a booking for 2 adults (the original booking was 2 adults plus 2 kids) there was no issue in changing it at reception. Both receptionists we encountered were absolutely lovely. The room itself had 1 double and 3 (yes, 3!) single beds. Quite a surprise as we were expecting a double, a single and a fold out sofa. But a lovely surprise nonetheless. Our only issue with the room was that it only had one window that could open a little bit. The room was very warm and stuffy. The little playground was nicely cordoned off so we could relax knowing our little one couldn't disappear while we were distracted with our older 3 year old. The lesiure centre was nice too. The travel cot in the centre of the changing room was very handy to have while I got myself dressed and organised. I didn't use the shower room in the changing rooms as I felt it was so hot and stuffy I was risking passing out! (I'm 7 months pregnant and not usually so sensitive to heat!) No problem there though, I was able to relax a bit better in our room while my husband looked after the kids. We ate in the bar during the evening. We're sorry we didn't go elsewhere. It was ok but not worth the money in our opinion. The waiter did seem a bit stressed although there wasn't many other tables being served. We would stay here again as it's a good budget hotel. I will have to check this website again though as the hotels website quotes a higher price for the same room.
Very enjoyable stay. Friendly accommodating staff. Clean rooms .Only down side was our room over the bar and at weekends the band plays and its pretty loud, not ideal when you have an infant in the room.
The hotel was very basic and of a lower standard than that of the Maldron Hotel in Galway. The hotel bar food was overpriced (€15.95 for a chicken stir fry?!)and the hotel seemed to be understaffed as we waited for at least twenty minutes for someone to take our food order on several occasions and it was not busy. The children's menu was poor, again in comprison to the Galway Maldron. Most things were deep fried and with chips. No pasta on offer on any menus. Breakfast was basic too. In the other Maldron Hotel there were croissants and scones on offer as well as yoghurts. We were given vouchers for breakfast and were left short two for my daughter. Apparently children over 5 have to pay for breaksfast? I was not aware of this and saw nothing in the t&cs about it! Wasn't too happy that we had to request a travel cot again, ask for soap for the bathroom and ask for the curtains to be put up in the room. The room was clean, staff were friendly and the pool was great but wouldn't recommend it otherwise.
Generally a positive experience and would revisit though the rooms next to the main road to Rosslare are quite noisy.
was a totally enjoyable weekend.. leisure centre was excellent, rooms were clean and spacious and beds comfortable. staff also were very friendly.. the food in the restaurant was of good quality and large portions.. would definitely return again. any faults i had with the hotel were small in that the bar was not inviting, it was more for eating, just too near the lobby. loved the grounds and the location of the hotel
5 star everything was lovely couldnt ask for better
Food was great, staff very helpfull,a little bit noisy at night but had a great stay.
We stayed at The Maldron Wexford for a 3 night mid week break and although the hotel was clean and comfortable there are a lot of improvements that could be made. We had lunch in the bar on arrival and I was disgusted to find a very long hair in my salad. When I brought it to the attention of the waitress she just said 'Oh!' took the plate away and never offered an apology or enquired to see would I like something else to eat. Some time later when my husband and daughter had finished their lunch and we were leaving she arrived back at our table with the same dish I had given back. I explained to the waitress that if I had been asked I would have liked something different from the menu, that I could not eat another salad after finding a hair running through my last one. The waitress replied OK and walked off!! This to me was very poor service and needless to say we did not eat in the bar after that. Breakfast was very hit and miss, a lot of items on the hot buffet ran out each morning and there was a long delay before they were replaced. The hand wash dispenser in the bathrooms beside the restaurant were always empty even though, it had been noted on a list behind the door that the toilets had been checked. There seemed to be a serious staff shortage which I think is the reason that we found the staff abrupt and at times unhelpful. On checking out we were not even asked how our stay was but we did give our views on the comment card. Sadly I can honestly say that I would not recommend this hotel to family or friends and would definitely not stay there again. This is a great pity because the hotel itself is ideal in every other way.
We thought this was an excellent hotel. Very clean, nice rooms and bathroom. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely food and the bar food was particularly nice and very reasonably priced. However, there were only two staff working in the lounge area and they were under pressure when a number of guests ordered food. The staff on duty coped very well but there was a delay in getting orders. The hotel could do with more staff in this area at busy times. The swimming pool area was very good standard and we had great fun playing the crazy golf with the grandchildren. The children also liked the playground. We would definitely stay again at this hotel.
Stayed here with my wife and four year old daughter. Couldn't be happier with our short break. Playground on the grounds. Comfortable sized room, clean and fresh. Swimming pool with clean changing rooms. There was a babies swimming class going on and we were allowed to join in the middle of the session with no hassle. All staff were very nice and accomadating, especially to my daughter, its always nice to see staff telling your little girl she's lovely!! Spent some time in Kilmore Quay, Secret Valley Farm both within comfortable driving distance. Hit Pirates Cove in Courtown on the way back to Drogheda. Food was very nice and the kitchen was flexible regarding changes. I didn't like the "new style" bar, but I'm only happy in an old smelly wooden bar!.Great break, nice hotel, lovely staff.
Short but very comfortable stay. Thanks hope to return again soon.
The Maldon Wexford is an fine road house hotel with spaceious rooms good food & all nite bar service. Curtains are a must in the rooms as the road traffic is in near view. We were over charged on our CC by 180 euro but were reassured that full payment would be reimbursed. Good hotel- ok decor- good location- good value for families. Sorry, did not get to visit the pool june 2012
Really enjoyed our short stay here. We only stayed for one night, but the staff were fantastic and so friendly. The leisure club was lovely. One slight fault was that the buffet breakfast was slightly cold and the fried eggs quiet rubbery. Had dinner included in our package and it was superb. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay here and will be back. The rooms were very comfortable and modern. Would love to have seen a swing in the playground but other than that, great hotel.
Had most enjoyable & relaxing stay Fri/ Sat night at Maldron Wexford. Would be difficult to find such value anywhere. The hotel met all our requirments. Would have to commend Staff friendliness- especially the girls in Stir Restaurant they were so nice, food was excellent & very reasonable, room was perfectly clean & spacious. Also to be commended was the shuttle service the hotel provided on demand at a very low cost, into Wexford town. I think they should emphasise the service a bit more as we didnt hear about it before we arrived. Wexford is a lovely destination plenty of fabulous drives to take, although we only came from Carlow. Maldron Wexford will definitely get our recommendation to anyone who asks. We were lucky too that after a very wet start on Friday, the sun shone Sat & Sun- the 'Sunny Southeast' eh? Must recommend Lidlbreaks for superb value. Thank You. Regards Maureen O'Brien
We went end of April 2012 stayed Fri- Sun had a lovely weekend away with our 3 year old daughter. staff were friendly, food in bar was excellent, leisure centre was great, we ejoyed our stay at the Maldron. Thanks Lidl for such a good offer great value for the price we paid.
I recently took a 3-night break in the Maldron Wexford with my wife and 2 year old son. We have a lovely time and found the hotel very nice. We had a family room which had 4 beds and lots of space. The room was bright, modern and very comfortable. They even supplied a mini-fridge so that we could keep a continuous supply of milk for my son. The staff were all very nice, friendly and helpful. The food was very good, both breakfast and dinner. The hotel was great for us as a family. There's a dedicated play area for kids, a crazy golf course and a great swimming pool with a seperate kiddies pool. All in all, a great stay at a great hotel.
Just to say there was 11 women from the age of 18 to 49 and we had a wonderfull time here........... the hotel was very full and buzzing with happy people because everything including all the staff was wonderfull.... The food was top class ......I. would have to say i have stayed in hundred,s of hotels and this has to one of the better one and just had a wonderfull time all around. Cant wait to go back.:)
I had a nice weekend and i will back, this is for sure. Nice and relaxing, good value and good quality of service. Well done
. My wife and I have just returned from a 3 night break in the Maldron Hotel Wexford and i must say we really enjoyed our stay. Our room was spotlessly clean decor was bright and cheery. As it was our 3rd stay in this hotel in the past 2years we found all staff that we had dealings with to be more than friendly and helpfull. The bar menu had plenty of choices and food that we ordered was excellent. PJ.
We stayed in the Maldron Hotel in a family room for 2 nights. The first room we were offered was extremely smelly (smelt like public lavatory). We requested a change of room and the staff were very accommodating and helpful. The second room we were offered was much better. Plently of space, beds very comfortable, balcony and windows that opened to give plenty of fresh air. Only comment I would make is that my son found a used lipstick on the floor in the bathroom which indicates that the housekeeping is possibly not as good as it could be. The evening meal in the restaurant was excellent - both the food, ambience and staff. Breakfast was a bit hit and miss. Certain items on the hot buffet ran out on both mornings and there was a lengthy delay before they were replaced. The toaster setting needs to be adjusted as the bread comes out untoasted on the first go and burnt if you put it through for a second go. A selection of potted yoghurts and pastries/croisants would have been a welcome addition to the cold buffet. In relation to the toaster - It also looked like it needed a good decrumbing and clean. Overall we had a pleasant experience and would return. If the hotel management could deal with the issues highlighted it would make the experience even more pleasurable.
Very impressed with our stay at the Maldron in Barntown Wexford. All the staff were very helpful and friendly.I would return again soon a very enjoyable stay.
I stayed in the Maldron in Wexford at the end of March 2012; I went with my mum, auntie, sister and my son. We went down on a Saturday night for 1 night. I have to say, we all had a fabulous time. I had a family room with balcony and it was just lovely with plenty of space. I would definitely recommend a stay here and i will definitely be back for another stay. I couldn’t fault the hotel in anyway, food, staff, beauty and leisure or accommodation, we all had a lovely relax stay and the girls pampered themselves on the Sunday morning with a massage which just added to it all.
myself and my husband stayed here, 13th april and really enjoyed our stay, we will be returning very soon with our 4 year old son and our 3 year old daughter as we also found this hotel to be very family friendly, as we have stayed in other hotels in the past that were ment to be child friendly and were not, also food was lovely and hotel very clean, very happy over all, thanks so much sonia caulfield
We spent the weekend in the Maldron March 12. We had a family weekend, sister, nieces and young 13 year old boy. It was absolutely lovely, the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The pool is most enjoyable and very comfortable and clean. We had a meal on Saturday night that was just gorgeous! Exceptional value for money. We spend Sunday afternoon lazing out back in the sun and playing crazy golf. The staff were so nice. Wexford town is worth a visit too. We will definately be back.
Could not have asked for a better service food was excellant room was big and clean staff could not have been more helpful or nicer. My wife and myself will be back a few more times this year
Thank you for great service, the staff are excellent, the food was excellent, we realty enjoyed the relaxed timewespent in pool sauna and jacusi, we will refinement to our family and friends..
The Maldron in Wexford was excellent. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Just one minor quibble, the Shower wasn,t very modern. It was just a shower cutrain around a bath tub. Generally; excellent; location very convenient and we really enjoyed our stay. Best Wishes, Tom Taaffe
Stayed in the maldron Wexford from 2nd March to the 4th. The first night was lovely. Music in the bar was nice and our meal in the bar was lovely. Saturday night not as good. The meal in the restaurant was much the same as what was on offer in the bar. Children were running around out in the foyer. When we went up to bed around 12.30am children were running up and down the corridor and kicking doors and banging on them to get in. Then from 1.30am until 4.45am there was a terrible racket of women shouting and talking. This appeared to be coming from outside our window but when we looked out we could see no one so we reckon it was coming from the room under us. Our room was very nice and there was a camp bed for the third adult, which I slept on. This would have been very comfortable except there was a spring sticking up which was grand when I turned the mattress but then a few of the slats fell out and I had to get out of the bed to fix them. We explained all this to a manager on Sunday morning. He said the night receptionist hadnt told him there was any noise. He did offer us lunch but as one of our party had to be back early we didn't avail of this, but had three lattes. The bar staff, the restaurant staff and the receptionist were all very friendly. I had stayed in this hotel about three years ago and had found it a lovely hotel. As I was taking my sister in law and daughter away I was very disappointed. It is a great hotel for children but I think consideration should be given to those that go away without children and want to stay here.
Very good value, comfortable room and good swimming pool. Great for a short family break Suggest children's meals could serve vegetables... my children had evening meal and breakfast and were not offered one piece of fruit or vegetables! (strawberries and apple pie weren't available). Would return.
Myself an my wife stayed in the Maldron hotel last weekend Jan. 2012 Lovely staff, rooms very spacious and spotless. Delighted with wifi in the bedroom. Meals excellent and efficient Will definitlely stay again Great value for money. John P And Maura Doyle
Stayed at the Madron with my husband and 2 kids. We could not fault the hotel. The staff were excellent, Rooms were spotless and a good size for the 4 of us. The kids really enjoyed the facilities. Breakfast was lovely and food in bar was great. We will definately be returning to the Maldron.
Hi, Myself and my family stayed at the Maldron hotel last weekend 13/01/2012. We found the hotel to be very clean and the staff very friendly. My only faults with the hotel is that it is a bit out of Wexford town and I found that the bar staff was a bit slow on the later part of the evenings. But I would recomend this hotel for a relaxing break away. Regards, G.F. Dublin.
Had a really lovely stay with husband and 2 young kids. Staff couldn't be more friendly, great with kids. Kids pool perfect for our 2 and 3 year old. family rooms located on 4th floor quite large and had balcony (which would be lovely in summer). all in all a great 3 star hotel and great value from lidl-breaks, thanks. Ps, hotel did a kids movie night deal in your room, €10 for DVD with DVD player, popcorn and juices for kids. they also show a free movie at 11pm on a particular channel. Will definitely go back.
AK 5th January 2012 We stayed in the Maldron Hotel for a midweek break during the first week of January. Our family of two adults and two children had a very spacious family room, with a double bed and three single beds. Our children used the kids club (small fee charged), where they cooked delicious cookies (we were delighted that they brought some back for us to try!), got their faces painted and played games so they had a great time. We had dinner in the bar during their absence so was a great chance for us all to relax. Both meals took about 20 minutes to arrive but the bar was very quiet and peaceful, while both dishes were really nice and the waiting staff were very pleasant. We all had a good nights sleep. Breakfast couldn't be faulted. There was a buffet for cereals, fruit, drinks and breads while an order was taken for hot foods which were all well cooked and hot when they arrived. We played pitch and putt (small fee charged) and the children enjoyed the playground, no other children present to compete with! Toilet facilities in the reception area were very clean. An excellent choice for families with small children, one of the best locations in the country - our second time in the Maldron Wexford and we will definitely return again.
rating 3 * excellent for the children...staff very friendly....would highly recommend for family breaks. we hope to return.
Great spot for kids ! Excellent food and a good leisure centre overall a great deal
Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Rooms were a good size and I slept very well.
Modern hotel with good facilities and friendly staff.
The hotel itself was very good.food was great.Staff very helpful. Only one compliant was that I left a shirt behind in the room. When I rang the hotel they said they could not find it.The shirt is not important but the cufflings on the shirt were bought for me for my wedding day by a family member that is now deceased. They were of great sentimental value to me.
We had a great time in this hotel. The meals were really nice and there is a lovely restaurant supervisor which looked after us both evenings. She was a small blonde haired girl. The only suggestion i would make is to have champagne glasses as we ordered a bottle of prosecco and there were none available.
I enjoyed my stay in the Maldron Hotel Wexford. The food was lovely , the staff were very friendly . I'm looking forward to my next stay.
A lovely hotel. Great location about 5 minutes drive from the town. Beautiful bar food. Great service. Will stay again
Staff friendly. We took a mid week break. My wife is a coeliac and despite advanced request the hotel did not have any gluten free cereal for breakfast but did get soya milk. Staff not too clued in to requirements and understanding of what 'gluten free' means but took time to listen and help out as best they could. There were some gluten free options on menu for evening meal both nights BUT 2nd night dish with stuffing was indicated as gluten free but turned out not to be when we queried same. Issue of cross contamination was also an area of ignorance. Rooms clean and comfortable. Breakfast was self service apart from hot food which I find preferable as you could make your own pot of tea when and as often as you liked. Not a great selection of fruit for breakfast if that is your thing but otherwise good. All food served was piping hot and on heated plates.
We had a nice time but bar staff were very slow, packing shelves while people were waiting to be served , we had a meal in bar on the friday night & one of the meals was over cooked
3 nights for €180. excellant value. Kids club , swimming pool, jacuzzi. Lots to keep the little one entertained. The kids Club gave Mam and Dad time on their own. Food very good and reasonably priced. Try the combo platter. Will definetley book another break at a Maldron Hotel with lidl breaks.
Stayed at this hotel last weekend.I found it to be very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful.Bar food was very good. The shuttle bus service into Wexford town @ €3 p.p was excellent. Definitely go back and stay again. Michael Wicklow
We had a very enjoyable weekend in the Maldron Hotel, Wexford. The room was clean and comfortable. The pool, jacuzzi, steam room were excellent we had very relaxing massages in the spa. The staff at reception were friendly and welcoming and we had 2 delicious meals in the bar where the staff were also extremely pleasant.
Great value breaks. Maldron Hotel a small bit outside Wexford town but nice place to stay.
Very friendly and helpful staff, breakfast could have been hotter, eggs especially were dried up and hard. Generous room and comfortable beds.
It was a lovely quiet spacious room and we were very happy with our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful in every way. The food was good and room service excellent. we would certainly stay there again as the price was very reasonable
Food very good. breakfast well cooked no half cooked rashers here. A good varietiey. Dinner good. I couldn't fault it. Staff nice. Bedrooms a bit dated. could do with a face lift. No shower caps provided or no safety deposit boxes in the rooms.
excellent staff and we were well looked after-very good meals and reasonably priced-we were there 23rd to 26th june 2011.would call again-sean and mary meehan, bandon,co.cork
very nice hotel and very friendly staff
had an excellent wkend here, pool was spotless and the room was very clean and spacious.. wexford town is only about a 10 minute drive and has everything u need in it. the food in the bar was gorgeous, just found that the bar staff doesnt really give u alot of time to decide with the menu (laura). But other than that everything was 100%, the breakfast was lovely on both mornings.. would definitly recommend to a friend and would most definitly stay here again. gr8 value for money :)
Great hotel. Nice atmosphere....nice food and some good deals on drinks and stuff. Swimming pool, playground and crazy golf to keep kids happy. All in all....grand spot!

Great value breaks from Lidl. I checked out the same hotel on another site and Lidl was %u20AC120 cheaper. Hotel was clean, staff were friendly and bar food was excellent. If only lidl could supply the weather it would have been the perfect break!! I will definately be checking in again before the end of the summer!!
