Information

The Deer Park hotel is situated in the grounds of historic Howth Castle and surrounded on all sides by parkland golf courses except to the south, where the spectacular Rhododendron gardens cascade down the rocky hillside, offering a breathtaking view. The hotel and golf courses which first opened in 1973 was built and ran for many years by Christopher Gaisford St.Lawrence who lives at Howth Castle with his family.

Travel Description From Sutton Cross please follow the directions listed belowTurn left at Sutton Cross. Keep to the main road, which turns but doesnt have any major forks. Watch out for the sign for the Deerpak hotel and the entrance which is on your right as you approach Howth. If you reach Howth train station or Howth Harbour you have gone too far, turn around and come back the way you came keeping a sharp eye out for the turn off into Deerpak hotel.. When you find the entrance, drive through the impressive stone gateway.  Pass Howth castle and follow the signs pointing to Deer Park hotel and the Rhododendron gardens. Excercise caution on the first part of the road to the hotel - it is quite narrow!

Area Description The location is ideal. The centre of Dublin, Ireland's capital, is only 9 miles and the DART station (the local rail system) a short walk from the front gates.  Dublin airport is 20 minutes by car or taxi making the hotel highly accessible for golfing breaks or holidays, an excellent point of call entering or leaving the country and the perfect base for those who want to visit the city but stay in a rural environment.
