Everything was great! The room was lovely. Thoroughly enjoyed the food. The pool was fantastic, our two small ones had a great time. Parking was very handy. Easy access to local attractions. We were very well looked after and will consider returning there when we visit the area again. Thank you!

Had a good time but was disappointed to see tables left with dirty dish's for long periods

Vicky scored 4 / 5 on 31/07/2017

Lovely hotel very basic rooms but comfy beds. We used the leisure facilities and it was lovely and bright. Old fashioned but does the job. 4km outside of the city. But only €10 in a taxi of your not driving yourself. We only had breakfast in the hotel which was very nice. Would definatley ise thai hotel again

Enjoyed our stay at Woodlands Hotel from arrival to departure. The Hotel is very conveniently located with comfortable rooms and a large free Car park. The Manager and all staff in Reception were welcoming and friendly and most helpful. Food was delicious. Room was excellent well maintained and clean. Leisure center is superb. This was our Second time staying at the Hotel and we will definitely return.

Robert scored 3 / 5 on 22/07/2017

overall a decent stay-staff were very helpful apart from lady who checked us in-lacking a little welcoming skills-also the pool times a little disappointing with a 9am start and 7pm finish as our lads love being down early to get the swim in before breakfast and evening time was always a rush to get back for 6 to get the last hour in the pool-i do appreciate you do have to look after members of the leisure club but 7pm is quite early for summer time-the food and service were spot on and the bar man was a great all rounded chat for sport and local attractions

Had enjoyable evening, food excellent but hotel on other hand could do with renovation. Stains on carpets, cracks on wall tiles, stains on chairs, ceiling in bathroom in bad way.

We will never go back here again! The room was only ok for a family of 4 however we were situated very near the function room which meant we heard everything that was going on. We heard tracks from oggie, oggie, oggie followed by the Foggy Dew! We had to complain twice as we had children with us aged 10 & 8. The music finally stopped at 12.30, my kids were pretty cranky the next day! I asked them why we were situated so close to the noise but got no answer. The only good thing about this hotel was the food. The changing rooms in the leisure centre were dirty and a fair bit run down. The bar was very noisy with a small group of people who seemed to think that they owned the place so we had to go to the lobby with our drinks. When I was checking out there was a record of our complaint and as a result we got €20.00 off our food bill!!! The receptionist apologised and asked if i wanted to speak with a manager but at that stage I just wanted to get out of the place!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.

I read mixed reviews for this hotel but was pleasantly suprised. The family room we had was a generous size and the leisure centre and pool were a good standard and the water was very warm which was great. The hotel is situated in a very handy place a 15/20 minute drive to Dunmore East it was great fro a short break for us. There was a wedding and we did not hear a thing!!! The breakfast was excellent and the staff were fine . We would definitely go back. It was great value as well For a three star hotel at that standard, in this really handy location and this price we would have to give **** it could have been a bit cleaner that would be my only criticism otherwise i would give 5 stars

James scored 4 / 5 on 27/04/2017

Absolutely no complaints, We found the food and all facilities very good, the staff were very friendly and courteous. We would have no trouble recommending it to friends and we will certainly go again.

Bonnie scored 4 / 5 on 26/04/2017

Comfortable hotel, large family room and good beds. Has a Spa with pool and loads of free parking. You do need a car if you want to get around but was perfect for us. We didnt try the TV which was old and couldn't Chomecast so kids relied on the wifi and netflix. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with a lot of variety and the scones were especially good!

Not happy with stay here. Be aware of fine print on booking, we were charged an extra €10 per night for breakfast for the kids even though we brought our own breakfast down for them and told them that on leaving, was told nothing if this charge when we checked in or on the mornings we went for the breakfast. The rooms were too warm and stuffy and their was load music blaring from the reception at 7am on 2/3 mornings that was so load it woke the kids. Not a good location either for local attractions. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Kbrophy scored 1 / 5 on 15/08/2016

Location good, rooms good, food good. However there was a wedding on both nights the 12th and 13th of Aug 2016 so we were kept awake until about 3am each night, even though we were on the second floor. Hotel did ring us 3 days earlier to warn us about weddings, surely they knew about the weddings months in advance. We had hotel booked since April......

Beautiful hotel. We had a family room with 2 kids and the room was very spacious. The pool is beautiful and the kids really enjoyed it. We have stayed here a few times and will be back again.

This was our 2nd time staying at this hotel. The hotel and staff were lovely. The pool was great. Good sized family room. Breakfast is buffet style and plenty of it. Only complaint I'd have is that on the nights we were there there didn't seem to be enough staff working. We had dinner in the bar/bistro and there seemed to be only 2 girls working. One was behind the bar while the other was waiting on the tables and it was busy. Other then that everything was great.

Stayed at Woodlands hotel for a family break and everything was very satistactory apart from the fact that our family room was very near the function room and there was a lot of noise on one night due to loud music being played at a wedding. Stayed at this hotel before several years ago and again everything was fine except for noisy music again from the function room late at night. As regards value for money and friendly staff it was very good.

Audrey scored 4 / 5 on 01/09/2014

It was a family break with small children. Outside of the city but exactly what we wanted. Rooms were fresh and clean. Staff were very friendly, especially the lady on reception during the daytime and the bar/bistro staff in the evening. Bar food was lovely and well presented. Breakfast was also very nice. The leisure centre was lovely and the kids loved the pool. Family change room was great. Only a short drive to Dunmore East and Tramore. This is our second time to stay at hotel and we will be back. Had a lovely relaxing and fun filled couple of days. Thanks.

Nice Hotel although it's not in the city. Room was clean and bright although the view was of the back yard, which could do with a clean up. The swimming pool area is also clean and well maintained. The breafast was excellent as was the bar food with a good selection for both. The Location is ideal if you want to visit Dunmore east or Passage east and Jack meades Pub is very nearby. All said we would definitely stay there again.

Roche scored 4 / 5 on 28/07/2014

Lovely Hotel. Staff were friendly and the girl on reception was very helpful. The leisure centre was lovely and the kids loved the pool. Near enough to the city. Only about 10-15 mins drive to Dumore East to the left and 10-15 mins drive to the right to Tramore beach. Had a brilliant couple of days. Thanks.

Nice hotel and nice food however, one thing was the room we were in there was a dreadful noise outside it (something to do with the pool) we were told. they could not move us so we had to stay there. so to be honest would not be going back there as you go to a hotel to get a break and a rest not for noise like that. but other than that was a nice place

The day we booked in i said we have a table book for tonight they said oh the resturant does not open on fridays we were really dissapointed as we were really looking forward to haveing a nice meal on valantines night. We ended up going out of the hotel For some thing to eat when we got back we went to bed only to be greated with thump thump thump the noise of the band in the function room Which went on till early hours of the morning my husband went down to receptionand made a complant, the next morning the girl on reception Took are phone number and said the manager would ring us we never heard any thing moore. We were very dissapointed that our complant was was not taken seriously. We wont be going back.

Hi yes we enjoyed our break ,with the exception of a few hiccups!!! Wifi didnt exist, !! we did ask at reception and we were given a booster but alas it didnt work either ! The rooms were immaculate ,i couldnt fault them. The food was top class and everyone enjoyed it, even though when we went to eat we were told we would have to wait a half hour to be served due to a wedding being served at the same time, not what tired weary travellers want to hear especially when they are hungry! The staff were very friendly and helpful, mind you when i went to pay the bill they had lost track of the fact that id booked it on the lidl break website and were going to charge me accordingly!! Over all we did enjoy the break as we had a recent bereavement and needed a break away ! , we did overlook all of the above as we have used the lidl breaks before and they were great, but i wouldnt be impressed that because a wedding was taking place that other guests would be left waiting to be served, it might have been ok if we were informed when we checked in ,but that didnt happen either! Id give the woodlands a two star rating ! Caroline

We had a two-night dinner bed and breakfast stay at this hotel on 26/27 April 2013. We had a lovely room at the corner of the second floor giving us two windows, one with a balcony and lots of light. I suggest that you ask for this when you are booking. Our room was very comfortable and spacious. We enjoyed all our meals and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall we had a wonderful break and would recommend this hotel as a very good 3 Star hotel indeed.

Emma scored 2 / 5 on 30/04/2013

arrived in this hotel for a one night stay during the weekend.hotel was clean on arrival and staff very nice.food really good in the restaurant and service very good. However, as the night went on the attention from staff towards their facilities became very poor and i had to complain about the ladies toilets at one stage. They were in a state with childrens nappies etc overflowing from the bins (this is also the fault of parents who have the option of a child changing unit but obviously chose not to use it). Immediate attention given to same by night staff who appeared to be running everything on his own. The overall stay was ok but will not be rebooking this hotel.

We are a family of five, two adults and three children ranging from 15 to 10 years of age. We stayed at the Woodlands Hotel for two nights and had a wonderful time. The hotel staff are very friendly and efficient. The leisure centre is fantastic and very easy to access. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the bar food was superb for all of us. The beautician Brid was fantastic with excellent offers, book early as she's very busy! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as a family and would back again.

We stayed at this hotel for only one night. We found the staff very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and well looked after. We had a very pleasant breakfast and the bar is one of the best that I have seen in hotels. The only critism is that it is a bit too far out from Waterford, we had to get a taxi into town which was pricy.

Tina scored 4 / 5 on 23/02/2013

I don't really know what to say, it met our expectations and exceeded them in so many respects. I don't know if it's just a Waterford, thing, but the staff are so friendly, they bend over backwards to help in any way they can. I would definitely recommend the hotel. While it's a bit out of the city you wouldn't mind that (providing you drive). We made great use of the leisure centre. Buffet breakfast was lovely. when we arrived late the first evening, the hotel permitted us to order in a take away.

We stayed for two nights with two children under 2 years old . We found the Hotel very suitable for our needs with friendly and very helpful staff . It was a very relaxing stay for all . Breakfast was very very nice and we also ate Dinner/Lunch in the Pub . We made great use of the swimming pool and Leisure Facilities . We also found the hotel ideally located for heading out to Places like Dunmore East etc . All in all we really enjoyed our stay , We tend to stay in Hotels a bit when we head away for a break and to be honest I would have no problem in recommending the Woodlands Hotel in Waterford to anyone heading away for a break . Nice Hotel, however confusion on booking in as to whether they had availablity for 2 nights even though booked through Lidl-Breaks.ie prior to arrival. Breakfast good with good choice. Bedroom was clean but too warm/hot with no air conditiioning. On check out bill was calculated incorrectly and Receptionist did correct this after been queried. Location a little bit outside city so would need your own transport. Overall pleasant stay.

I have to say this is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in, in a long time. The rooms are big and spacious and the staff are very friendly and nice. The hotel is a bit out of the city but if your looking for somewhere nice and quiet for a romantic few nights or just to unwind this is the place. The food is lovely and the hotel is very clean. We didnt get to use the leisure facilities during our stay but we did have a look at the pool area and it looked very nice. So if our looking for a hotel in waterford try this one.

I booked one night for a get away for my parents who are both in their late 50's. I had called earlier in the week to pay so that they did not have to put their hands in their pocket. The total amount was debited from my credit card. On arrival that weekend my dad was asked to pay upfront before setting foot in the room. he was charged and then contacted me as he knew it was a gift. My parents tried to explain that i had paid but the receptionist was not listening to them and persuaded them that i booked through booking.ie and not lidlbreaks. After about 20mins the receptionist realised that she was after mixing up the bookings. she refunded them their money. my parents then went out for the evening. when arriving back to the hotel shortly after 12 that night their card keys would not work. They went back to reception where nobody was working. The bar was busy so they proceeded into the bar to ask the waiter. It took the waiter approx 30mins to fix the problem and had to bring them back to reception to issue new cards. It was after 1am when my parents could access their room. They were extremely disappointed with the level of service in this hotel, as was i embarrassed for booking it. i would not recommend this hotel.
