Warm welcomie by friendly receptionists. Bar, restaraunt and breakfast staff very friendly and helpfull. Food was lovely and plentyfull. Lovely decor through-out the hotel. Room was very comfortable and clean but was way too warm. I would come back again.
I cannot fault this hotel in anyway. Reasonable price and room very clean and comfortable. Used the swimming pool and sauna/steam room all fantastic. The staff from the minute myself and my sister arrived from receptionists, bar, cleaning, breakfast and dinner staff, everyone could not do enough for us, with genuine smiles and all had such a calm feeling about them all busy but did not looked stressed in their work or towards us as guests only wanted to help in anyway. So 100% to all. Happy staff means happy guests. So thank you all.
Really enjoyed our 1 nite stay with friends at the hotel. The food was luvly in the restaurant.kids club great value 15euro for 4hrs dinner was included kids had a ball. The pool was warm.bedroom was grand, would go back as we got dinner b&b for 2adults 110euros kids stayed free just paid for kids club. i loved this hotel great standards very helpfull and friendly staff great location and plenty of facilities and places to visit enjoyed my stay
If ever there was a case of a hotel being defined by which person one dealt with, this was it. We had a wonderful reception on arrival, which was duly spoiled by a 2nd person at the front desk. The spa experience was a nightmare, only redeemed by intervention from a Manager. Rooms were lovely & spacious, clean & perfect for our needs. All meals were served by friendly helpful staff and the standard to food was excellent. We didn't realise the hotel was so far from town centre, but that fault was ours for not researching in more detail.
window in room broken replaced with ill fitting chipboard requested another window also broken noisy air extraction unit outside, dinner ok but finger prints over dish, breakfast chaotic chair had big hole in it there seems to be a big variation in hotel star ratings stayed in better three star!
Staff were very pleasant and accomodating in reception, bar and restaurant. We had a lovely stay which was fantastic value for money. We had a triple room, which was a good size, with a good bathroom. Used the pool, which was good size and not too cold. Also had beauty treatments in the spa- staff were lovely there, and we purchased one of their special offers which included lunch. Again staff were lovely. Only complaint was the room was too warm at night, but we switched on the fan - it won't deter us coming back, which we intend doing. would recoomend this hotel.
Lovely friendly and helpful staff and clean facilities. Good food and service. Excellent value. As a smoker, I would have enjoyed a designated seated smoking area outside.
Definitely no where near a 'Luxury" hotel. While the room and bathroom were spacious, decor was tired and the room due a refurbishment. The bathroom had an open walk in shower and we found it impossible to contain the water - it splashed well outside the shower area. Like other guests I found the room noisy - voices on the corridor were easily heard. The view from our room was far from what I expected - it overlooked private houses' back gardens and the back / side of the shopping centre. In addition there was no privacy e.g. net curtains so curtains had to remain closed while dressing. The flat screen TV on the wall was far too small for the size of the room. Leisure centre has no relaxation area / seating / loungers for non swimmers. The pool and jacuzzi were warm. Reception staff were excellent, bar food was very acceptable but breakfast was disappointing. Location was not an issue for use - it is easily accessible from the motorway but is not easily accessible to the town centre. It is unlikely that we would stay here again.
BEWARE DO NOT BOOK FOR THE FOOD AND DO NOT BE SURPRISED IF YOU ARE DOUBLE BILLED FOR THE ROOM. Aside from that rooms are ok and leisure facilities are good. Very pleasant staff. location a ten euro tariff each way to town so factor that in as well
went here on an overnight stay with my sister . I would highly recommend this hotel .The staff were so friendly, food was fab ,rooms and hallways were so spacious and the pool and leisure centre were excellent. We will return,we would give this hotel a 5 star.
Very nice hotel and leisure centre. The service and the cleanliness were very good and the breakfast was good. The evening meals in the bar / restaurant were mixed. There were some very good items but a poor curry and poor children's meals.
lovely staff, spacious family rooms, fab bathrooms, really enjoyed our stay.. the leisure centre was warm, kids loved it.. bar food really tasty, only bad thing was breakfast.. not enough varieties, and cutlery, dishes dirty with stains.. but overall would definitely go back..
Very nice hotel with really lovely friendly staff. The meal included in our deal was very good with plenty of choice. Our room especially the bathroom was most comfortable. Breakfast was standard buffet but no menu for more variety. We didn"t have a chance to look at leisure centre but I looked at spa price list and thought prices were very competitive which is not always the case in hotels. We felt we got excellent value for what we paid and I certainly would book a 3plus break again. Sarah O'Callaghan
We had a very pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel to others. One bedroom was very warm and even with the heating off and a fan provided - our room was overpoweringly warm. Our children's room was a normal temperature. Not sure what the problem was as the rooms were beside each other.
First class hotel could not fault in any way staff excellent will go back again
Excellent Hotel, very friendly and welcoming staff especially the receptionists, lovely food, beautiful rooms could not be nicer
Great service, nice and tidy rooms, great food. But very noisy. You can hear while people talking in front of your room door. Thats one minus.
Very nice hotel . Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, would recommend it .
Very friendly staff. Great to have the Leisure Centre. Food delicious. Only complaint: slowness of service - waited 80 minutes for main course, acknowledged by hotel as price of meal was deducted from bill at checkout.
Athlone Springs Hotel was very convenient for us - just off the M6. We stayed in The Athlone Springs before so were disappointed to see that it wasn't as clean as before. The pool , jacuzzi and pool area was very grubby and not cared for at all. The milk in the room was sour . Breakfast was nice and staff friendly.
Stayed 2 night's mon to wed found the hotel to be cold bar food was not to our taste 10 euro into Athlon by taxi overall would not stay in this hotel again to far from town
A lovely hotel with really pleasant and friendly staff.
Visited the Athlone Springs on the 16th January with another couple. Room was excellent, have to commend all staff we met with from receptionist to bar staff, they were all very friendly and accomodating giving us helpful advice on things to do in Athlone. Its a short taxi ride from the centre of town, but taxis were plentiful and reasonably priced. We didnt eat in the bar or restaurant for dinner as we had other plans but seemed to be busy yet plenty of staff on hand to cope. Breakfast was great- self service with lots of options. We'd definitely visit again as we had a great time here. :)
I must say me and my family enjoyed our stay very much. The staff were very helpful, the breakfast and dinner were excellent. A very healthy options for breakfast were offered also. A very clean hotel. Leisure facilities were excellent also with friendly and courteous staff through out hotel .would highly recommend for family and couples. 5 star rating
Lovely hotel food v nice but wouldn't say its a 4 star bar tiny and not much seating in lobby ok for one night
We had an amazing stay in this hotel, couldn't have asked for a better experience. I've never came across such helpful, accommodating staff in my life. The hotel itself is fabulous, and the food is fantastic! I'd give 6 stars if I could. We will definitely be returning!
Hotel is very nice, meal is nice but breakfast is all self service we had to wait ages for tea cause very little people working in the morning.. The hotel is ages from the town about a ten min drive so taxi is a must if you want to delve into athlone night life. All and all the rooms are gorgeous, staff are friendly, check in and check out was fast.. So no major complaints just the driving is a bit much!!
Absolutely brilliant Hotel. Staff were excellent. Food was great. excellent value for money. Definitely would stay there again and already have recommend to friends for a weekend stay. 5 star service
My wife and I had a great stay here, and will come back again .
We had a great time at the Athlone springs.the good is fab and the staff are so nice and helpful.love this hotel
Had a lovely two night stay here, staff friendly and helpful, good food, perfect location for a break.
Lovely break and really comfy bed. Food lovely. Great entertainment and staff very friendly and efficient.
NICE HOTEL BUT KIDS CLUB NOT ON ON SUNDAY OF MAY LONG WEEKEND..ALSO BAND WAS DUE TO PLAY ON SUNDAY EVE IN BAR AND NEVER SHOWED......WILL NOT RETURN.....
I was extreamely disappointed with my stay in the Athlone springs. I had booked to stay to get away for a relaxing night . During the night I woke up to the sound of a noise coming from the windows and balcony door. I originally thought it was cars racing outside but when I got up to investigate it became apparent that there was a drought of air coming in because the windows and door was not properly sealed . It meant I had an interrupted sleep when the wind picked up! In the morning I told the receptionist who thanked me and told me she would make sure It would be fixed for the next person. She did not acknowledge me in any way by apologising or offering any compensation for the unpleasant and uncomfortable stay. Extremely disappointed and I would never return .
Four of us spent a night away in the Athlone Springs hotel, we got inter-connecting rooms as requested and we had a pleasant and relaxing stay. The staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient. Although we were on a D/B/B package we had to dine in the bar as the restaurant was closed as it was quiet during mid-week. As a result we had to choose from the bar food menu which had a very limited choice and served no vegetables/potatoes with main dishes which was very disappointing! We requested the restaurant menu but it was not available. We brought this to the attention of the receptionist on the following morning who contacted the manager. He was very apologetic and said that the restaurant menu should have been offered to us on the previous evening. As a goodwill gesture he gave us dinner vouchers to return sometime in the future. Otherwise our stay was enjoyable, it is a nice hotel, nice decor and very spacious and well equipped rooms. We will definitely return.
Lovely hotel, good food, good service and friendly staff. Only negative was kids breakfast was charged as extra, have never come across this before on a Lidl break as usually it's only the evening meal that has a charge. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.
We recently stayed in Athlone Springs which was a very pleasant experience. The staff were efficient and friendly, rooms were nicely decorated and we were given inter-connecting rooms as requested, the only fault we found was a broken shower head and a bulb needing replacement which we reported on our departure. The food for dinner was v good, nicely presented and had adequate portions but breakfast was disappointing as I had to ask for a bowl of muesli even though it was listed on the menu and there was no fresh fruits to add to cereal ie prunes, bananas etc. Overall we enjoyed our visit, would return but would appreciate a fuller buffet next time for breakfast!
I was pleased the hotel read my booking information as we were allocated a disabled bathroom - very helpful. The single beds for a 'twin' booking I felt were small but I think were to allow wheelchair access (which we didn't need) Restaurant was very pleasant & all staff very helpful & accommodating. Spa & pool very nice as well. Very very busy with families. I reported hairdryer not working and this was not acted upon but a small criticism of what was a pleasant stay.
Had a lovely two night stay here, staff friendly and helpful, good food, perfect location for a break with the kids.
Hotel very nice and food was good. Our room had a locked window which could not be opened. We were offered 2 fans one of which was dangerous because it had no grille. This room was not fit for use during summer time. We were given a mere €20 discount by hotel. Staff were all very nice and helpful, but surely this room was in breach or fire regs and H & S?
The staff are always very nice here. Its a busy hotel yet quality is not sacrificed
I cannot praise this hotel and its staff enough. Where to start...... On arrival when checking in the reception staff where so helpful and friendly, explaining the layout of the hotel, restaurant times and kids club times. When finished I knew very well that I could return with any queries to a very helpful, friendly and accommodating staff. The décor of the hotel stands out straight away as bright, vibrant and very modern. The rooms are laid out brilliantly and very bright and airy. I had requested a cot when booking and sure enough there was one ready and waiting (assembled with linen). The kids were anxious to use the kids club so we went to sign them up. There were 2 very friendly young ladies there to explain to us about the kids club and our 2 boys were extremely happy. They used this club every day and loved it. I cannot recommend nor praise the young people who run this club enough (it made our kids holidays). The pool is lovely, perfect temperature and kept very well and clean. We had booked a family deal which included a 2 course evening meal on one evening. The first night we ate in the bar and the food was amazing, very well presented and waiting staff very friendly and accommodating. My husband ordered the chicken and was informed that with it being cooked fresh it could take about 15 mins which we were fine with and was definitely worth the wait. The second night we used our voucher in the restaurant and it was again a fabulous meal. The staff just couldn't do enough. The breakfast was brilliant on each morning of our stay. It was always very fresh and plenty available. The General Manager was around at all times ensuring everyone was being looked after and he done an amazing job. I cannot recommend this hotel enough for families. On reading some reviews I was a bit doubtful but I will definitely be returning. Thank you Michael Hanley and Staff - We will see you soon xxxxxxxx Just on another note - If travelling with young children Gleender Pet Farm is about 10 minutes away by car and is well worth a visit.
Thank you for the opportunity to rate my recent stay with Athlone Springs Hotel. It is a fine hotel and the staff were very pleasant. Whilst my sister and I went for our evening meal we were reminded which package we were on which was grand, but unfortunately they were not aware that we are both on a Gluten Free Diet which to us was vital information. This was specified when booking our stay. Hence, the bread that arrived was not gluten free, although they did rectify this. Also the menu didn't state which options were gluten free which is the norm in many places now. Having said that the waitress did return to inform us of our options. At breakfast, we had to ask for the gluten free choice as there was nothing left out so we could help ourselves without highlighting our request. This was sorted when we asked. The bedroom was spacious and clean though I would have loved to have had a bath which is one of the luxuries when staying away. The shower curtain didn't quite reach the shower tray and so the water went everywhere on the floor which could have been a safety hazard. We also used the swimming pool facilities and enjoyed it. A ringer for the swimming gear would have helped though there were plastic bags there, but we couldn't hang them over the bath to dry as there was none. Whilst these are just comments / observations, we did enjoy our stay.
Stayed at this hotel recently was ok but wouldn't be rushing back it's a modern hotel but feel in parts of the hotel especially along the corridors need a bit of attention the corridors are very dark and the walls and skirting need a lick of paint . We stayed in a family room 2adults & 3 children which was very small but clean the weather was very humid at the time and heat in room was unbearable because no airconditioning had to get a fan from reception which helped . The staff were very pleasant and the breakfast was ok .
Nice hotel, very friendly staff, breakfast very good. Not a particularly nice location but handy for the motorway. Some of the hallways were very dark. Room bright and clean and spacious, pool and dressing rooms clean. Would stay again.
Handy if you need to be in that part of the country Reception staff were warm and friendly and lovely to deal with nice welcome from the ladies at reception. Rooms lovely and clean, but a little dated needs a good lick of paint like the rest of the public areas in this hotel. Bar quiet small and the seats need a good cleaning both in bar and in the dining room Swimming pool needed a good cleaning, walls were a bit slimey, also towels a bit dated. Staff lovely if not very well informed if asked if fish was cod by a guest in a big group from Japan i believe, the waitress asked another waitress and she was told" its either cod or pollock i dont know, just tell them its cod everyone likes cod" wasnt nice to overhear that, needless to say i didnt order the "fish" Booked 2 night with an evening meal on both evenings......was expecting to be dining in the hotel dining room both nights but was told on 2nd evening that the General manager closed the Dining room as only 30 people were booked in that evening and they could use the bar food if they wanted food......well i wanted to eat in the restaurant/dining room and to eat from that menu but was told no can do and was handed the bar food menu and shown to a table with dirty paper napkins and the tables on both sides of me filty dirty......This let this otherwise nice hotel down in my books Nice and cheap not a 4star as i expected, i wont be returning again sadly.
Stayed in this hotel last Friday night and had a wonderful time. The staff were lovely and so friendly. I hope to pop back down during the summer with the kids great value. 5 star
I enjoyed my stay at the Athlone Springs Hotel, however was disappointed to find out on arrival that the restaurant was closed as I had paid in advance, as part of a deal, to avail of the restaurant. Also I was disappointed with the shower facility in the hotel (i.e. continued to over flow while being used).
Unfortunately, my review is not favourable! I have two complaints. Our main course was over done and not enjoyable - Lamb Shank , which was a pity. Also , we were unable to get to sleep until after 1 am due to the noise - screaming and shouting coming from an event ( Graduation ) that was been held in the hotel that night which we should have been informed about. Also we requested a quiet room in quiet location but were on second floor at front of hotel near noise from graduation. Lastly, the finish in rooms and bathroom was not to 4 star standard, would rate as 3 star. We were disappointed.
Nice break nice hotel very helpfull manager. Just very stirict on. Dining times cdont be late lik us other than that recomend
This is a very nice hotel, beautiful reception, bar & restaurant & the food was fab. Entertainment was excellent in the bar & we had a great night & fantastic breakfast the next morning. However, this was a birthday treat for my mum & I specifically requested the nicest room available. The room was extremely out-dated, old fashioned, very dark with only lamps to light it & in serious need of updating. The bathroom was beautiful & modern though & the only place we had enough light to get ourselves ready to go out. I did try to upgrade but there was no upgrade available that night. I would stay again as we had a great time, but only if I could be guaranteed a nicer room, especially when it was requested in advance. The staff were all excellent in the hotel, couldn't have been nicer. All in all very good value for what we paid.
We enjoyed stay, pool good, breakfast fine , had lunch one day-nice, all positive 4 star
Staff were great, very helpful, and attentive. food and drinks great. entertainment on sunday night was great. Room was clean, but curtains had drink stains and cig burns on them. Hairdryer not working, shower leaking all over floor, grout missing between tiles in shower room. not a good look. when we stayed there was 3 hen partys - a bit noisy at times. the carpets and woodwork throughout hotel needs to be cleaned, the seats in the bar and restaurant are stained and need to be recovered or cleaned . overall impression is they are too busy to pay attention to detail. which is a pity as the staff are great.
hotel was ok but room was very warm and no way to turn it down .had to sleep with window open all night very poor lighting both in room and hallway .but food was very good
hotel was ok but room was very hot and no way to turn the heat down in room had to sleep with window open. very poor lighting both in room and in hall. shower also leaked in bathroom. food was very good and staff were very welcoming a bit of trip into town taught it was closer was told it would take between 45/50 to mins to walk
Four of my friends and myself stayed Friday 25th for one night. We found the staff very helpful. We had a double and a triple room which sited our needs very well. Breakfast was good and the pool area was refreshing. would and will stay again. Very good value using the Lidl breaks
We stayed in the Athlone Springs Hotel this Easter - me, my husband and small daughter. We weren't too impressed by the hotel surroundings - it's right beside a main road in sort of industrial estate, you couldn't say it was exactly picturesque location. The hotel inside was nice though, nice spacious room, bathroom, lobby and bar, all looked nice - except we thought there were lots of stains on everything - bed spread in our room was dirty and chairs in the lobby and restaurant were also full of stains. I guess it was the material they were made from, not exactly easy to wash, but it was off putting to be completely honest. Dinner in the restaurant was nice, and breakfast was good also. It would be a good idea to have some sort of children play area on the premises as lots of kids were just running on the road in front of the hotel and we didn't find anything for our 2.5 year old to do except swimming. It would be good to have something else. Staff were extremely nice, helpful and friendly - I was very impressed by that and it was really lovely. To summarize, the hotel was good value for what we paid I thought, the only let downs were the location itself and the dirt on the chairs and our bed spread, that was really off putting and it ruined the overall hotel impression for me personally.
http://www.tripadvisor.ie/ShowUserReviews-g212091-d668984-r199428694-Athlone_Springs_Hotel-Athlone_County_Westmeat.html OK I don't want to be negative, But I have to say The Athlone springs needs a lot to be desired. The staff ware friendly enough, The lobby was nice, The building is a relatively new one, So Why the negativity? The Room was nice, The same old room that You get in every hotel, Just not as clean, Not dirty, Just not up to scratch. Cigarette burns on the curtains looked old. The bathroom was old, Floor not clean from the previous occupant, leaky glass on the stand up shower meant that water went trough to the floor, The lack of a shower curtain meant that the towels got socked. The room lighting was dim, No option to turn on a main light. gave a dim look to the room. The pool area was not nice at all, the staff member throwing a bucket of what I can only assume was Chlorine in the opposite end, was off putting, The steam room was Cold, If it was out of order a sign to say so would have been nice. The sauna had benches that ware a few years overdue for basic maintenance. ( Looking at splinters when You are in swimming shorts is very worrying ) The food in the restaurant , while quite nice, was served up very late, with the added "Ill bring the Veg in a moment" that never came, I assume my order was lost as I had to order desert twice, and was left an extra 20 mins just to get that. And when I went to pay, The bill bore no reflection on what it should have been,The Meal was included in My stay, But I was firstly told the bill was €50, a lot for Two beers, But it was sorted before I left. I didn't complain to anyone in the hotel because if the staff cant already see the problems in the hotel, Its not My job to tell them. This should be a better Hotel, You have the staff, The the location. You just have to put a little effort into it. It Just felt Tired, Not Old but Tired. Stayed March 2014, travelled as a couple
I had booked a twin room in advance. when I arrived at the hotel I was directly across the hall from a hen party. I rang down to reception and they kindly moved us to another room. The room was very spacious and very clean. The service in the bar was poor as there seemed to be several waiters walking around with nothing to do and didn't seem interested in taking any order for drinks. The bar food was really nice but some work needs to be done on making cocktails from scratch and not from a mixer bottle. Over all the stay was really nice and Mark in reception was exceptional. I would recommend this hotel to a friend for a short weekend stay.
we really enjoyed our stay so much we hated coming home. we stayed the second night booking through the hotel. lidl didnt have the deal for saturday nigth but everything was lovely about the hotel sfaff food etc.
We had a fabulous couple of days stay at the Athlone Springs Hotel, great Breakfasts & dinners with plenty of choices & the home made brown bread was lovely, the pool was great it was nice and warm,we actually used it twice daily during our stay, very friendly helpful staff,an all round beautiful experience at the hotel ,would definitely recommend a stay there. Narry
Hotel staff were very friendly and were able to assist me with an early check-in as requested. I was staying there on a Saturday and was woken early Sunday morning (Baring in mind I had been at a wedding the night before) with the staff power hosing the hotel. Not a great way to be woken and it was that loud that it was impossible to get back to sleep.
This was the best experience I have had in an Irish hotel. The staff could not do enough for us. We had a very enjoyable meal in the restaurant the food was excellent. Go for the Steak it was really good. The bar had a very welcoming atmosphere and the lads behind the bar are a massive asset to the hotel. Even when we were leaving the next morning the cleaning staff checked if everything was ok and made a point of thanking us for staying. Thanks to all of the staff keep up the good work.
My 3 boys and husband stayed here 2 days in early December, Fabulous stay, gorgeous large bedroom very comfortable bed and bathroom was heaven Jacuzzi was great, I would definitely come back
Location on the outskirts of the town may not be ideal but was fine for our purposes. Busy but efficient hotel, plenty of staff. There was a mix-up with the pricing on our booking but it was dealt with courteously by the desk staff. Good musicians in the bar on the Saturday night. The only quibble would be with the lighting in the bedrooms and bathrooms, it's really not sufficient for applying make-up.
Good Food, comfortable beds, very helpful staff. Only complaint would be the pool, it was quite cool and the showers and changing area was cold.
Good location, friendly, helpful staff. Kids Club was a bit poor but overall we had an enjoyable stay.
Hotel was lovely, but a bit far out of town and not much else to do around it's location. Hotel rooms very spacious and bright. Food was lovely but menu which applied to our deal was very repetitive. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this hotel if you are looking for somewhere quite, but if you like to be within walking distance of the town this hotel is not for you.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed stay. Enjoyed pool also. Food very good and tasty. Only one small problem, the motors outside rooms 203 & 201 very noisy at night. Extra glazing unit that could be slid closed at night would help the problem. Other than that we really enjoyed our relaxing stay in the hotel. BB
Stayed for 1 night, hotel was full but you would'nt have thought it was nice and quiet. Room was bright and airy, huge comfy bed, great sleep. Lovely breakfast, staff nice and friendly. Would definitly recommend.
We had athlone springs hotel booked with lidless breaks but hotel was doubled booked with no room available to wich we ended up in the Hudson Bay hotel which was good but disappointed not to get springs hotel
Stayed in the Athlone Springs Hotel recently . Can not fault the hotel. The deal was great value with a meal and breakfast included for 1 night stay . The food could not be faulted, great choice on the menu - my favourite was the Toblerone cheese cake :) Staff were friendly and helpfull. 5 minute drive into the town .
We booked a 3 night Lidle break. It was very good value. Hotel was clean and the staff friendly. Would stay again if going to Athlone.
I found Athlone Springs Hotel to be top class. I was very impressed by every aspect of the service and facilities. The staff are amazing and very friendly and helpful. I can find absolutely no fault with them at all.
I stayed here last Friday night on my own with my 3 children. I was very happy with everything. 2 of my children have autism and it can be difficult eating in restaurants with them. We could order room service from the bar menu at no extra cost which was brilliant. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We visited the pool which was lovely. The only thing was that there was no playgrounds or kids room but as we only stayed 1 night it didn't make any difference- we were breaking a long journey. I would definitely stay again with the children for a night but not really on a holiday basis. But if I was without the children I would definitely have a weekend there.
Hotel was nice, staff were friendly, extremely helpfully, found the room to be a bit dusty, dust on shelves in wardrobe, dust over the bed wooden frame,, maybe 3 star defently not a four, room was not up standard
The hotel was comfortable without being spectacular. Breakfast was good, leisure facilities ok but look a bit dated, they could do with painting and cleaning up a bit. The most frustrating point about my stay was the fact we had to eat dinner in the bar, as the restaurant was closed (I don't know why! ). This was not highlighted when I booked and certainly should be, as i'm sure most people when they book a dinner package, expect to eat in a restaurant!! The staff were very pleasant and helpful, but the eating arrangements and the lack of information about these arrangements needs to be addressed.
Hotel was gorgeous. Food was very good and not overly expensive we only had bar food didn't try the actual restaurant but really enjoyed what we had the breakfast included was top notch aswell. Pool and thermal suite were nice also, Staff were very friendly and great for information on where to visit in the town.
Lovely hotel, good facilities ,Staff could not have been more friendly or helpful ,Food was good, a lovely stay overall Mary
Very nice hotel, very clean spacious rooms. Food was nice and staff friendly. The pool was very good for the kids and the price was very good also.
The hotel was very nice, the staff very efficient and helpful. Our rooms were clean and spacious with nice modern bathrooms. For the price it was very good value for money. Breakfast was more than adequate with plenty of choice. We ate in the bar - the food was at best average. The spa treatments were nice and well executed but the lack of anywhere to chill afterwards was hugely disappointing - you had your treatment and you were turfed out immediately. The pool area was nice but again nowhere to chill! Not what you expect from a hotel with a spa! The hotel is in an industrial area outside the town but this didn't bother us as we were happy to drive. It was only 5 mins by car into town and easily accessible. I would stay here again, but not for a special spa/girlie weekend.
Just back from a lovely family break at this hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great facilities. Perfect for a family break; children very welcome! Would definitely go back.
Just back after a lovely break in The Athlone Springs . Our room was spaceious warm and very comfortable. The food was fantastic and so were the staff all very friendley and helpfull. Will defently go back.
Nice clean modern hotel Good facilities and friendly staff. One small gripe in that there wasn't enough bacon or fried eggs on the breakfas buffet at peak time and queues formed and had to wait several minutes. Generally a good deal at the 78 euro B&B for two people.
nice hotel, good food and lovely live music during dinner. I really enjoyed my stay and I will come back there.
Stayed in the hotel Sat 15th September. Very impressed - staff extremely helpful. Food was fab and the hotel was very modern and clean. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.
Three of us stayed in the Athlone springs Hotel for the first time aug w/e. The facilities were great the staff were very friendly and helpful. We would recommend to anybody great for a relaxing weekend or a base to travel around.
Great hotel, unbeatable rates and in a quiet location. Room was top class, very spacious, bathroom luxurious with a fantastic shower. Room just a little too warm. Food was excellent, service very good. One poimt of note, if the waiting staff had checked back to our table after serving the main course we would have bought another drink, but not to worry. Simon at reception was most helpful and pleasant. Would stay again and would definitely recommend this hotel.
Lovely hotel and staff! Gorgeous food especially the baileys cheesecake!
Beautiful hotel. Room was of a high standard -clean and spacious. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. Would highly recommend this hotel. A very enjoyable stay. :)
Very good place to stay so close to the motorway. I would have to say that the staff were all excel Lent and very helpful. I would highly recommend The Athlone Springs Hotel + they have a great leisure centre
Stayed in Athlone Springs for one night on sat 9th June, with my four sisters for a 60th birthday. It is a lovely hotel, staff very friendly, food great and the music in the bar high reel ensured that we had a great night. would recommend this hotel very highly to anyone.
A very comfortable Hotel with friendly helpful Staff. The restaurant served great food and we really enjoyed our break there.
Had fab stay in the athlone springs this weekend. Everything about this hotel is amazing. The hotel itself has everything you need and more. The hotel is spotlessly clean and facilities were great. I loved the swimming pool which was v spacious and again spotless. The staff were so pleasant and helpful from the reception staff to the bar staff to the restaurant staff and also the cleaning. what more do you need? Thank you all.
stayed at athlone springs for 2 nights on june holiday weekend, and have to say it was great value for price that i paid, great servis, and exellant food menu, can order food up to 10pm..,entertainment each night we stayed, very relaxing break.if i was to say anything negitive,it would be the location, still had to drive some miles to the nearest town, but appart from that great value...
other than its miles from the city center its an excellent all round hotel
The staff are very nice and welcoming the food is great but unfortunately the level of the accommodation leaves alot to be desired. I took a shower and as you do take off your clothes and leave them on the floor. To my horror the shower tray was blocked and water had overflowed all over the bathroom floor soaking my clothes and the only 2 towels in the room. There is no mirror where the hair dryer is, the sockets under the TV did not work, the lamp had a lose wire and each time I moved or tipped off it the lamp would go off. The overall lighting of the room needs to be improved. I did receive a voucher for 2 nights for the price of one but why would I want to go back.
Very enjoyable. Rooms excellent except for now compulsory duvee (you either sweat of freeze) and the usual noisy guests in the middle of the night. Staff and meals excellent. Very easy to get into town centre. Would certainly return with our own blankets.
Really nice people, very helpful and everything was perfect. The room was the manhattan suite which was perfect also.
An excellent modern hotel with large rooms. The food was very good quality with ample helpings.
Really great two nights. Room was spotless, bed really comfortable and the staff are the friendliest and most helpful I've come across.
Excellent Hotel - Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Food is gorgeous and service excellent! Leisure centre is well maintained and staff there are also very helpful and friendly. Myself and my family thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - we have been 4 times and will be back again!! Siobhan xx
Hello, We loved our stay in the Athlone Springs Hotel. We were very happy with the size of the room and the wifi made a big difference to our enjoyment also. We would recommend a break there for anyone !! The restaurant was excellent as was the food and staff. The only problem we had was that unforunately many children were running around unsupervised in the Room Corridoors, Bar/Lobby late at night which was very annoying I'm afraid. The children were not allowed in the bar area after 9 pm which was fine but all the lobby area was then taken up and it was impossible to get a seat and sit down and relax with a drink. We understand that children will be children but it was late at night which should be more for adults. Thanks again Regards, Noel Murphy Kildare
i enjoyed the break away for one nite, our meal was good. the hotel and staff were very profssional and helpful.
We really enjoyed our break. The accommdation, food, staff were all excellent. Would have no hesitation booking this hotel again.
We enjoyed our stay very much especially the swimming pool and the fresh fruit salad for breakfast.
Stayed for three nights at Athlone Springs hotel and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very helpful and accomodating,Our daughter was with us and had a great time in the pool. The break was very good value for money and I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would stay here again.
Stayed 2 nights in February 2012. We got excellent service from the time of our arrival to when we left. All staff were very courteous and friendly and our room was spacious and comfortable. The bar food was excellent and good value.

Lovely rooms but the breakfast wasent great. Also its a couple of kilometers outside Athlone. The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean
Went on a 3 day break and it was great, rooms were lovely and spacious, breakfast and dinner really tasty would recommend
Once again a brilliant choice .There is nothing i could fault about the hotel ,bedrooms spacious and so comfortable, pool great ,staff very polite and friendly .When we arrived they were preparing to welcome a wedding party I thought we would be kept awake buy we never heard a thing Breakfast was lovely as were bar snacks so all in all a good time was had by all Ann and Shea
Nice clean hotel. Swimming pool is a good size and the breakfast was good, the evening dinner was poor to say the least, Well sign posted from athlone town.
Lovely hotel, friendly staff, great food, leisure facility's excellent. We really enjoyed our stay & would recommend to family & friends ... excellent value for money :)
Really enjoyed staying at Athlone Springs, facilities very good, staff friendly and helpful and the room was big and well equiped, only down side it's a big out of town. Would definitely stay again. Highly reccomended
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel, all the staff were very friendly and courteous and made us feel very welcome. We had a bit of a disappointment with our food, very slight but the manager on duty, male, did,nt get his name but dealt with our complaint very efficiently and offered us a bottle of wine on the house. I would definitley recommend this hotel to a friend and will be returning in the future.
Staff were great, leisure centre facilities were excellent. Good food, good bar etc.
Fab time, hotel was just what we needed, lovely room, great shower, breakfast was really nice, we ate in the bar at night food was really good. would recommend to family and friends for sure. Great hotel for families. We'll be back!!!
A very enjoyable stay - really friendly staff and pleasant surroundings. The children loved the swimming pool.
Good location, clean rooms, great leisure facilities, good hotel bar and excellent breakfast - all served up by friendly staff - and at a great value Lidl Breaks price. You could ask for very little more at this price. Michael, Louth.
Excellent, great value one night deal with dinner, food lovely, chose from A La Carte for inclusive menu, just a few supplements on some dishes, great idea. Lovely room, a fridge would be really nice, but can't complain, lovely leisure centre and very good entertainment in the bar on Saturday, enjoyed it a bit too much, nothing a few lengths of the pool wouldn't sort out the next day.
Lovely hotel, friendly staff and excellent facilities
Hi Lidl . We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at the Athlone Springs Hotel. The staff were very friendly and courteous. The room was very comfortable , didnt get a chance to use the pool, maybe next time. Thought it was very good value for money. We would give it a three star rating mainly because of its location. Will be booking again soon. Kind Regards Brenda Kelly
The Athlone Springs is a very nice hotel run to very high standards. I got a beautiful, spacious room. The hotel is kept very clean throughout and this is a great credit to all the staff. The leisure centre is a treat to visit with a lovely pool. The staff are always courteous. They always look up and acknowlege you when you approach at reception or in the restaurant, which is terrific. One point I would like the staff to note is that the grounds outside need some more attention - the winter leaves are still blowing over the paths and there is a fair bit of wind blown litter in the bushes. But this was a small point and I recommend the hotel highly,
I found the hotel excellent, very friendly staff, brilliant facilitiese.g. spa and swimming pool. I would definitely go back. Food was great. I would rate it 5 stars Phil Lennon
The hotel facilites are very good with nice rooms and a good gym and leisure centre. The breakfast was not of a good standard which put us off having dinner there! however, only a short taxi ride into town cente with plenty of nice restaurants in there.
We had a good time, nice room, good dinner and breakfast. Good leisure facilities! would recommend to anyone.
lovely hotel, beautiful airy resturant, georgous meal and friendly, polite and cheery service, would recommend highly to friends and family and have done already..... regards, Luke, kilbeggan, Co Westmeath.
We enjoyed our overnight stay in the Athlone Springs Hotel recently. The Receptionist was cheerful and helpful, the diningroom staff could not have been better and our room was as we would expect in a 5-star hotel. Keep up the standard and we'll certainly be back on a Lidl break!
Stayed here with my boyfriend recently. Hotel was lovely, staff were really friendly and helpful and the room was great. Food in the restaurant was beautiful. The Lidl Breaks deal was excellent value for this great hotel. We'll definitely be back!!
We stayed in the Athlone Springs on the w/end of27/11/2010 Hotel is in my view very good Staff are great and helpfull, rooms are Super food is top class so no problems with hotel only drawback is hotel is a bit out of the town
By Kathleen 29th November 2010 Stayed in hotel for 1 night and really enjoyed it. Beautiful hotel, very comfortable and very clean. Food was also very good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Booded break through Lidl and would definitely go back there. Very good value for money.
Very nice Hotel friendly efficent staff good leisure facilities however I never saw a lifeguard around the pool so you need to be careful. a very enjoyable break would stay again
lovely hotel, friendly staff and food delicious, definitley go again, not very close to the town but for 1 night to relax its worth going.
My self and my sister enjoyed our overnight stay in the hotel. The staff very very friendly, polite and efficient whenever we made a request. The room was clean. The Zen Spa treatment was lovley, again very friendly polite staff. The food was excellent in the resturant. The only downside was that we could hear the band in the bar clearly, however when we contacted reception we were informed that there was a party on and that the music would finish at 1 am which it duely did. Thanks Lidl for an enjoyable breal away! The Monahan Sisters
The lidl breaks were excellent value. The room and the staff were very helpful. The fitness and pool area were great and had everything you wanted. The only disappointment was the main restaurant was closed in the evening so you had to eat in the bar area and the spa was closed on a Monday so no treatments. Otherwise it was a great stay for some rest and relaxtion.
Cannot recommend this hotel enough, hotel was just gorgeous, food and room lovely. Great music in the bar, cant waif to return, great value.
enjoyed a 2 night break with 3 sisters. hotel lovely staff extremely friendly. breakfast excellent. only minus would be that lighting in room wasnt great. exc value for money
hotel was lovely staff were very friendly food was super . the bar area was a little small but great fun 4 stars .2 couples from firhouse thanks
Stayed for 3 nights staff very friendly and effecient; food excellent great value for money. The only cristicism was that the lift was out of serive from Friday morning and still out of order on the Sunday when we were leaving.
Enjoyed our 1 x night stay in the hotel. Food lovely, staff friendly & helpful, bed very comfortable! Lift was broken so though we got help bringing up our bags, we didn't feel right ringing for help to bring them down when vacating. Perhaps it should have been pointed out at registration to be sure & ring for assistance with bags, that it was no trouble? Just unfortunate the lift broke down Halloween weekend. A small negative- carpet on stairs badly needed a hoovering? Everything else good. 3.5 stars.
Excellent hotel , couldn't fault it .Staff were very helpful and friendly . Had a small problem with heating in room that was quickly resolved and because of the heating problem we received a upgrade to a better suite . Entertainment and bar and food were excellent .Lidl breaks were easy to use and great value for money and I will definitely use again!!!!
I dont think it lives up to 4 star luxury hotel - lighting in the bedroom terrible - water came over the shower tray - no toilet brush - doubt if I would go back or recomend it.
The location of the hotel is kinda weird, its like in an industrial estate - don't let it put you off though its a great hotel. The hotel room was nice, the staff were really good. The food in the restaurant is top class, there is a brilliant chef working here. I recommend the Athlone Springs Hotel. We were so impressed we bought vouchers for a friend to come here while we were there.
fantastic night away with the girls beautiful meal 1st night breakfast even better next morning after couple drinks in hotel bar previous nite great buzz in bar no sign of recession will def be back with hubby
Lovely hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff both in hotel and spa. Breakfast Sunday morning a bit manic as everyone seemed to come late - 10.30 - but hotel should have been geared for this. Despite this thoroughly enjoyed stay. Lidl breaks fantastic value for money - maybe no need to put on menu "Hope you are enjoying your Lidl break" - not at this hotel, at Maudlins House - whats the point of that?
had a lovely time at the Athlone Springs, accommodation lovely, food lovely and staff friendly and courteous. Would definitely recommend it
Hotel is very nice, rooms are big a spacious, the staff are really nice and the food was gorgeous what more could you want
Myself and my partner stayed in the hotel on 9th October and we enjoyed it immensely. The hotel and room were lovely. They had good leisure facilites there and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food we ate there was absolutely fabulous for both dinner and breakfast. We would indeed recommend it and we will be going back again; with the kids next time.
I found the Athlone Springs Hotel very nice. The rooms are large and comfortable. The food is delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and will come again and recommend it to friends and family
Myself and my husband stayed in Athlone Springs last weekend. We really enjoyed it the decor was absolutley beautiful staff very genuine helpfull and friendly. It was excellent value for money food faboulus too. We enjoyed it so much that we re booked it when leaving to go back for our anniversary couple weeks time. We ve visited many different hotel s this year alone and by far this was BEST.! Thank YOU. Geraldine Flood.
Lovely hotel, fine rooms, very nice meal, extra course (dessert) only %u20AC5, was charged for coffee tho which is meant to be included, not worth arguing over. Great buzz in the bar the night we were there.
Very enjoyable break, we thought the hotel would be nearer to Athlone town (within walking distance). Irish staff at hotel very friendly and helpful, some non-nationals not so friendly. Kids club was very good, kids well cared for. Hotel food lovely, breakfast scrumptious. Lidl Break excellent value for money for families, hotel surroundings lovely and fitness suite and pool excellent. Many thanks
1st night we stayed fire alarm went off in middle of night in error, waking us up. Neither of us could get back to sleep as we found heat was too much to bear, even with window in room open as far as poss. and heat was turned off in the room. The following night, we got a fan from reception which made it the room cooler the 2nd night. Food was ok, staff were friendly and facilities were ok too,
hote nice, staff friendly and helpful, great value
Great value Lidl break, pool and breakfast were excellent. Michael, Louth.
