Lovely hotel staff very helpful and the food in the restaurant was just fantastic keep the chef
Fabulous hotel, great pool, great staff, ideal break after the Xmas madness, even with the storm had a lovely few days. Free parking and being coeliac I was delighted the staff are all well informed and lots to choose from. Will definitely be goin back soon.
We had an overnight stay November 2017. The service was exellent and so was the breakfast. Perfectly situated near Galway centre but also on sea front for lovely evening walk on promenade. Would stay here again if visiting Galway in future.
This hotel is excellent. Spotlessly clean, food excellent and staff so helpful
Absolutely superb. Great value for the price from Lidl breaks. Lovely hotel, friendly staff, delicious food, real holiday atmpsphere in ideal location. Best value we have had for a long time.
great hotel friendly staff good value for money
We stayed at theSalthill Hotel for 3 nights, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great with a good variety laid on.We had a great view across the Bay . Our room was excellent and the bed very comfy. The hotel is located well We would recommend the hotel to our friends Patrick&Esther
We had the most wonderful stay at the Salthill Hotel - the location was great, right next to the sea - staff were lovely and the room was nice - did the job. We got great use out of the hotel's facilities. We hope to be back again soon.
Yea, Salthill Hotel is fantastic. You get what is on the tin really. Courteous staff, great food, spoil of choice for breakfast. Cosy rooms and location is right near the beach. Swimming pool and the gym facilities are added plus. Highly recommended. Definitely go back.
Excellent hotel .great location, near bus stop. Very good leisure centre. Big room
everything was excellent
Very enjoyable stay at the Salthill Hotel. Exellent leisure facilities. Very helpful and friendly staff. Food and waiting staff top class. Would have no hesitation recommending a stay here while visiting the west of Ireland
We had a very enjoyable stay at the Salthill Hotel. The service and food was excellent. The bedroom and leisure facilities were top rate.Staff were very helpful and courteous from reception too leisure, dinning. If we are traveling to west of Ireland in the future this hotel will be high on list .
Fantastic hotel, food was delicious and staff were very friendly. Looking forward to returning again some day.
Excellent hotel with a fantastic leisure centre, full 25 metres. Staff are brilliant. I mentioned to receptionist when checking in that I had a hospital appointment at 9:30 in the morning for which I needed to fast and we wouldn't be back until about 10:30. She said breakfast finished at 10 but she would arrange for a full breakfast to be kept for us - and she did exactly that! Only slight downside for us was that there was a food fair on and the hotel was very busy but that's a personal preference thing, we prefer a bit of quiet, others prefer a busy place!
Stayed here for one night recently. Hotel was comfortable and well maintained. The dinner at night was excellent and the breakfast was good. Our only concern was that the staffing at breakfast seemed to be far short of the numbers required and they seemed to be under great pressure
Excellent location, across the road from the beach and diving boards. I cannot fault the dinners & breakfast The pool facilities are great. Bar/Lounge very comfortable and relaxing. However when there was no live music, the in-house stereo was loud, making conversation difficult.
Lovely hotel and excellent staff especially at reception.
Lovely hotel, staff are great. Food was first class. Five of us stayed and had a great short break. We will definitely be back again
Loved our break in The Salthill Hotel. The bed was very comfortable, and cosy. The leisure center was also lovely and the breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice.
Great hotel and lovely room for the price we paid. The lesiure facilities are excellent as well. The dinner that we also got with the deal was well above the usual standard that you would get in hotel bundled deals. Thanks!
Great location just outside the city. The Atlantic at your back. Rooms were good, a bit small but had all we needed. The staff were very good. The breakfast is very good(Buffet). Music in the bar at night.
Superb as usual
fab hotel in a nice location.great pool.entertainment in the bar both nights of our stay but wasnt my type of music.would stay there again.
Hi We had a lovely time . Everything was excellent food , room etc Thank u 4 star
Lovely hotel however some very rude bar and waiting staff.receptionist was lovely customer service should be across the board.Hotel is such a fine hotel be a shame to have rudeness let them down. Facilties fab bar food wasn't great but we did enjoy our stay.
Great deal we had a suite room looking onto to the bay. Dinner that was included in deal was fab and they were so good with our little girl. Had the bar food on our first night which was brill. Will def be returning
Excellent Music great
Enjoyed another short break in the Salthill Hotel. All staff we encountered were lovely and enjoyed the bar food.
Stayed in this hotel from 28/03/16,until 31/03/16 on a 3 night package with LIDLBreaks,at booking I requested an upgrade to a Seaview Room if possible and I would pay the difference when settling my bill at the Hotel,A phone call to the hotel a week later confirmed my booking was good and when asked about my request for the Seaview room this was also confirmed, much to my delight,as I had stayed in the hotel before and knew how superb the view across Galway Bay is from these rooms, We arrived at about 3-20 pm on the day and were greeted by to very friendly and welcoming Receptionists, who told us that our room was ready and that we had the same room we had previously stayed in,this delighted my wife and myself, the registration at arrival was easy and we were quickly on our way to our room and a bit of a rest and freshen up after such a long journey from County Antrim, the rest of our stay there was very good, and house keeping and room service were excellent, there was bottled water and chocolates provided as a welcome, showing a great start to out stay,in all our stay was very good and will certainly repeat this wonderful break in the near future,I have no Hesitation in recommending this Hotel and it,s staff to anyone looking for a good Galway location for a short or long break,,Car Parking is excellent at this hotel, with good Blue Badge spaces, both at ground level and in the under ground carpark........I will return.......
Hotel location is fantastic, lovely staff, room spotless and food excellent. Would stay again.
Very friendly staff, good food. Wil stay again
We had a really enjoyable stay. Rooms, food and staff were top class. Location next the promenade made for enjoyable walks.
A relaxing hotel, nice staff (apart from one lady). Pool facilities were absolutely excellent. Very comfortable beds. Disappointed with buffet, food wasn't very hot. Room was as expected, clean and spacious for a four star.
Lovely break in the Salthill hotel. Great location on the prom and a short drive into Galway city. Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. We'll definitely be back !!!
Very enjoyable stay, staff very friendly, breakfast & dinner excellent music in the bar on the second night very enjoyable
Wonderful stay, All staff that we met were great, We could not fault this hotel
Booked 3 rooms for one night dinner bed and breakfast. Everybody enjoyed their stay. Delighted with our rooms, menu choices in the prom restaurant, service excellent and breakfast selection was great. All staff we encountered were lovely. The only complaint we had was that we were being charged for the tea's and coffees after our meal which were included in the price. We will definitely be booking this hotel again as we have been there many times.
Excellent value for money with the Lidl break.Fab hotel, comfy bed and friendly staff. Will def return.
Had a 2 night family stay with our son. Will definitely be back. Hotel is lovely right on the seafront/salthill promenade. Staff were very friendly and efficient and nothing to much bother especially when our son got sick and needed a doctor. Food was good as was breakfast. Our room was a tad small for a family room and the only downside was there was no bath in the bathroom just a walk in shower. Some rooms apparently have baths some have showers. Overall we had a great stay and will definitely be back. We didn't get to use the pool or leisure center as our son was sick but will do next time we are staying.
We had a great stay in The Salthill Hotel. The staff were so friendly & welcoming, our room overlooked the promenade & the view of Galway bay was fantastic. The food in the restaurant & bar food was top quality as was breakfast pancakes & poached eggs to order all yummy! We didn't get a chance to use the leisure facilities. We would highly recommend this hotel for a lovely relaxing break we will definitely be back.
lovely clean hotel. food good. staff very friendly . would stay here again.
This hotel delivers every time and we will keep going back. Extremely helpful staff, great facilities and fantastic location
Stayed in hotel for 2ngts with my husband and two kids. Had a lovely stay as always. Food was great. Kids had a great time in pool. Look forward to coming back again.
Lovely hotel. Staff excellent. Great views, bar, food. Highly recommend. Will definitely return.
Really enjoyed our stay here. Room was lovely , cleaned daily and breakfast service was fantastic. No complaints.
Good rooms and comfortable beds, the bar with night entertainment is fantastic, great breakfast. The 25 m. pool is also great for a swim and to finish off an excellent stay, a walk on the sea side. Hard to beat.
Hotel exelent, rooms like new and very confortable, bar staff specially guy from Romania super pro.Reception staff needs a litle bit smile in there faces when greeting costumers.
Love this hotel have stayed here five or six times. Bar is great and food is excellent, staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Location is perfect with the prom so close for a bracing walk and bus stop close to go into Eyre Square all in all great for a relaxing break.
Very Good Hotel. friendly staff, nice bar and resturant, food very good. leisure facilities excellent. would difinitely stay again.
we stayed a Friday night in November and were blessed with glorious weather. its our 3rd time to stay at the Salthill hotel. Our room which looked onto a central courtyard was clean and comfortable. Our dinner in the Prom restaurant was lovely, good choices and well presented. There was music in the bar later, enjoyed by a good crowd. Breakfast was the full Irish with the usual extras. we used the pool and sauna facilities which are all 4 star. Its a lovely walk via the promenade into Galway (40mins) and a regular bus service will take you back.
We would highly recommend this hotel as we had a lovely break here. It was spotlessly clean and the food was delicious (dinner was included in our package). Salthill is a great place to stay and we would go back to this hotel in a flash. Next time we're bringing our swimsuits as the pool looked lovely!
Have stayed here before a few times and always return. Room very clean and spacious and clean with tea & coffee making facilities. Dinner in the bar was fabulous and waiter was so nice. Breakfast was great. I would have given 5 Stars but I do need to complain about the receptionist who checked me in. She had no personality and I believe it was a real effort to check me in!
very enjoyable stay will book again
I arrived to a Wedding Reception @ the staff at the reception couldn't be more helpful & accommodating as their was a lot of people around! The rooms were fabulous & the view from the window was the Galway Prom! My Aunt & Uncle celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary & the reception was just like the wedding earlier! Prefect all the way! Food & service was excellent! Slept like a baby with comfort! Breakfast was gorgeous even though slightly delicate! No rush to b out of room & no cleaners on an early mission! Loved every minute wished I could stay another night! Will definitely be back love Salthill & love the Salthill Hotel
Hotel is in great location. Rooms very comfortable and modern. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay. No complaints!
A lovely couple of days in this hotel. Family room was spacious, staff (lots Irish) most friendly. Dining room evening meal very slow. Would recommend. BV
Lovely hotel situated at the end of Salthill. Leisure centre gives it an extra bit of luxury which is needed in winter time.Music in the bar both nights that we were there which was nice.I would have expected a freshly cooked breakfast as the Hotel is 4* however there was a good choice at the buffet and it was re stocked regularly.Staff were friendly and helpful.Rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay.
excellent loved it.. rooms lovely ..atmosphere geat and food outstanding.. cant wait to stay again to see that beautiful view
We stayed in the Salthill hotel recently, had two rooms and they were really nice and spacious, well furnished with plenty of supplies during our stay. The staff were welcoming and pleasant. The food was delicious for breakfast and dinner, presentation was excellent and we were really impressed with the healthy options at breakfast. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely return again, we have stayed here in the past but the service and food has improved since our last visit. A great place to stay and a lovely location. Would definitely recommend.
Very happy with our stay at the Salthill Hotel. it was good value for money. the room had everything you could want and the breakfast was excellent except for the cheap orange juice. Evening meal was also good.
we stayed there last week for three days, the room we had was a side view room of the promenade, which was fine, and clean, all of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful including reception, the evening meal in the restaurant was well presented and tasty, we were brought to the front of the dining room which overlooks the prom so had a sea view while dinning, the underground car park is also very convenient
Excellent hotel.comfortable, spacious, modern hotel with sea views.great location.
Lovely few days in Salthill Hotel....Staff were very friendly and helpful, hotel was lovely and room was spotless, food was excellent...will be going back
Loved the location, the rooms, the cleaning, bar and restaurant staff. Couldn;t praise them enough. Only issue I had was the attitude of the Reception and Reservation staff. A bunch of my friends and I (all women) stayed there and they had similar experiences with the Reception. Reception were often abrupt and rude . They seemed to have forgotten they are the face of the hotel and made us all uncomfortable to approach them. I travel a lot in Ireland and abroad and this is the first bad experience I've ever had with Reception in any hotel. Not sure I would stay there for that reason. Other than that, great place
We had a lovely stay in the Salthill Hotel. The location is perfect. The staff were lovely. The room, and hotel itself are very nice. The breakfast was very good, served until 11.00 at the weekends, which was great. The leisure centre was lovely. We would definitely stay there again, and would highly recommend it.
Had a fantastic weekend in the salthill hotel - The staff were so nice and polite - One thing we did notice was how nice it was to see so many Irish people working in the hotel. Will definitely be using this hotel for my weekends in salthill. Many thanks mary
Great. Break top class hotel will return again
Very enjoyable. Staff went out of their way to be helpful. Food was excellent and recreation facilities are top class. Can't recommend them highly enough
Very good value break the swimming pool was excellent room comfortable and the dinner was really wonderful
We had a very pleasant stay at the Salthill. We had 2 lovely rooms with sea views, comfortable beds and full facilities. The dinner both evenings was first class. Lovely staff and very nice dining room. The underground parking is a great bonus. It was a lovely break. Will be back and we have been there twice before this stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Salthill Hotel. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The food was excellent. My mam is elderly and I requested a room beside the lift when I booked at our stay. The room they give us was ideally located for my mam. A big thanks to the Salthill Hotel for a very enjoyable stay.
Lovely hotel, great staff, food was fabulous, both in the restaurant and breakfast the next morning. Would definitely stay there again.
We stayed for just one night recently in Salthill Hotel and our only regret was that we could not stay longer. The room, the food and the service were excellent. All of the staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly. The Leisure Centre was one nicest I have seen in any hotel. All in all I would recommend this hotel.
friendly and competent staff, ideal location and excellent food, what more could you ask for.
We booked a reservation with salthill hotel via bargain deals Ireland, the deal was 3 nights b&b with 1 evening meal for 2 adults and children go free. HoHowever, when I emailed the hotel to confirm my booking, there was an extra charge of €20 pp for my son, this was not outlined in the details when I was booking Overall, hotel was lovely, very family orientated. Room was spacious and clean. Food was average. Our evening meal consisted of a set menu which had a poor selection of foo. Staff were nice and catered well to all. It was a nice refreshing break away and we enjoyed our staff stay with salthill hotel Stephanie Westmeath
Stayed here recently and we found our stay very relaxing. The hotel is in an excellent location, the staff were very friendly and accomodating. The room we stayed in was very comfortable and the food and drink was excellent. We will definitely be staying here again in the near future.Would highly recommend it.
lovely hotel in every way
Good location and excellent value.
i stayed in the hotel on sunday night after the match and i must say it was fantastic the hotel itself the staff and the food were spot on i would love to stay in that hotel again and hopefully o will be back again in the summer thanks to lidil breaks for such a lovely hotel
We have a great stay here, food was fab , staff great and entertament was brillant , will be staying again
Had a 2 night stay with evening meal, I would highly recommend this hotel the food in both the resturant and bar was great, the staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms very comfortable, the pool was great and they had music in the bar at night over all a relaxing break and would be planning to stay there again.(would have stayed a third night but they were fully booked).
We had a fantastic weekend at the Salthill hotel, it overlooks the bay and is near enough to walk to the city. We went on the bed, breakfast and evening meal offer and it was fantastic value for €49 per night each. The food and service were excellent even though the hotel was really busy. On the second night we ate in the bar as the restaurant was full for the time we wanted. This was a bit of an issue as they wanted to charge us extra for eating in the bar which didn't make sense as it was still a two course meal we had. However, on checking out the staff at reception agreed that this shouldn't be the case and rectified this for us. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Lovely Hotel with great facilities. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the food in the restaurant was lovely. Great location. Would happily stay here again.
we stayed at the salthill hotel on a special midweek rate which included an evening meal. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and most of the staff were very friendly and competent. Breakfast was very good and offered plenty of choice. Our meal was very nice and the restaurant staff were delightful. Very efficient and good fun. The location of the hotel is great, with the promenade across the road, and there is a bus stop at the front of the hotel, if you wish to go into the city. I would definitely recommend this hotel , and will return there myself.
Room was OK and bathroom was OK .my problem was with the shower water kept going scalding hot to very cold not a thermostatic valve. Will not stay again.
My friend and I stayed Saturday night (Jan 24). From beginning to end the stay was a pleasure, from the friendly reception staff to the accommodating night porters, the service we received was excellent. The room was lovely and the guest name on the home screen on the tv was a lovely touch. The room and bathroom were lovely, with lots of hot water in the bathroom and an excellent shower as well. Breakfast was served until 11 am Sunday morning which was very suitable after a long night in the function room. Would recommend this hotel highly and hope to go back again.
I've been here before on full price and it was a different experience to coming here on a lidl break. The room location on the lidl break was much smaller, reached via a separate smaller lift off the main foyer and much narrower corridors, and the window was beside a kitchen vent. The receptionist checking us in was friendly until she spotted it was a lidl break booking then seemed cold. She spent the rest of the booking procedure making unrelated phone calls to other staff members. The rest of the staff were impeccably polite and friendly, particularly the blonde lady at reception who checked us out. The food was excellent and the room was quite nice. I would certainly go back again overall.
We have stayed in Salthill Hotel on many occasions and I have to say that we were always looked after in every possible way especially when it came to dietery requirements, nothing was a problem and the staff were always friendly and more than helpful. Thank you, Loretta McCormack.
Hotel reception; great, food; great, location; great, room cleanliness; great, room location; very poor.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hotel is in a great location. Beautiful leisure facilities and the food was very pleasant. At night there was a band playing in the bar and the atmosphere was really good. All in all, we had a really memorable stay and no complaints. S & K
Beautiful hotel would recommend, lovely food and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Look forward to going back again. Martin & Anne.
Stayed in this hotel early November for 3 nights, beautiful hotel, food was lovely and the staff very helpful and friendly. We had a lovely Seaview room. Would definitely go back again : )
Great hotel, excellent facilities. Breakfast staff in the restaurant were excellent and couldn't do enough for us. The lady doing the meeting and greeting when we arrived was very chatty and so nice. We tried to extend our stay for an extra night, but couldn't afford the price offered. We understand we were on a mid-week package and it was a very good rate and so couldn't complain. its perfectly understandable as the holel only had a few rooms left (it was a Friday night we were looking for). The hotel was perfectly clean, neat and tiday. THe music in the bar on the Thursday night was a funky jazz band and they were excellent also. If you are looking to stay there, I would highly recommend this hotel. Kind Regrads, T&N
very nice hotel staff very efficient and helpful will definitely stay again
Hi, we stayed in the Salthill hotel for two nights BB and 1 evening meal. From when we checked in to when we left it was lovely. We had dinner on the first night in the Resturant and I have to say the food and service was beautiful. My son loved the swimming pool and I also did too. Our room was very clean and we had a double bed and a pull out bed and my 3 year old loved it. The bar was very relaxing and the food and service was very good also. We are hoping to go back there again in October for our wedding anniversary. The only down side to our holiday was that the weather was not very good but it was an excuse to stay around the hotel which was very relaxing and the staff were all very nice. I would recommend it to anyone. Thank you for a lovely stay.
lovely hotel in a great location. Rooms are nice and great breakfast buffet. Food is good in the Prom restaurant but the staff aren't the best there. Our hotel room was on the first floor and we could hear the hand dryers from the bathrooms downstairs and the vents were noisy enough. It didn't bother us too much as we were out for most of the day.Over all it was a nice hotel and I would recommend it.
What can i say other than great hotel, great staff and great food. I would go back again without a doubt
We have stayed at this hotel many times. The staff are friendly. Beds and bedrooms are comfortable. Breakfasts are enormous and tasty. The only thing wrong this time was we were on the 4th floor and during the night I could hear the air conditioning units above us. It wasn't loud enough to wake you, but loud enough to stop you sleeping for some time. Next time I will insist we are situated on any floor except the 4th floor.
Stayed in the Salthill Hotel Galway, we had an enjoyable stay, ideal location- across the road from the beach, nice prom, and walking distance into town, , good hotel, good room/facilities, friendly staff, had a lovely evening meal and entertainment in the bar. Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and look forward to staying again
Good location close to all amenities, good standard accommodation only stayed one night bandb breakfast which was very good..
had a lovely break here, beautiful clean hotel, friendly staff, restaurant was excellent, great breakfast choices, ideal location fro families
the salthill hotel was beautifull large spacious room with a sea view.spotlessly clean with a very helpfull friendly staff .will defenly be back 5 star
A lovely hotel in an ideal location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms are modern and spacious and clean. A lovely leisure center and breakfast and dinner were both lovely. Staying here again I would request the new part of the hotel (which luckily we had) because the old part is very dated and has a lot smaller corridors/rooms but will definitely be booking again.
Comfortable and clean room in a great location, within walking distance of Galway City. Food was excellent and staff were very helpful
EXCELLENT HOTEL FOOD VERY GOOD FRIENDLY STAFF VERY CONVENIENT TO CITY OVER ALL HAD A VERY ENJOYABLE STAY WOULD RECOMMEND
This Break was really good value, but i upgraded to a Seaview Room and it was well worth it I,d recommend anyone booking The Salthill Hotel on this kind of break to do the same as the room was superb in size and comfort and the View truly great. The hotel Staff were very helpful in all departments, and the dinner that was part of the deal was very good, both in service and quality,if there was a downside to any part of this break,it would be the check in.We arrived at 3-35 pm and had to wait an hour for our room to be ready, there were others that arrived after us who also had to wait, but the Hotel supplied Tea and Coffee and biscuits to help wile away the time, that said it did not detract one bit on our stay there,I,d book this break again in the blink of an eye,but upgrade to the Seaview Room,we were in room 226 and try for that next time.Car parking was excellent.I,ll surely use Lidl Breaks again as the really are value for money...
Stayed here for two nights with my boyfriend mid-week and we really loved our stay. The room was spacious and really well furnished. We would have rathered a bath in the room over a shower, though. The staff were always helpful, carrying our bags up to the room and then letting us leave them there after checkout as our train didn't leave until that night. Facilities were great. Lovely saltwater pool. In a great location in relation to the beach and Salthill village, with a regular bus into Eyre Square. Overall, would highly reccommend this hotel to couples and families, we adored our stay!
thank you we had a wonderful time rooms very clean and spacious staff very helpful and courteous only one complaint dinner menu not very much variety thank you again for a lovely stay richard byrne dulin city
Great location, great facilities and most of the staff, very welcoming and accommodating.
Really enjoyed our stay at Salthill Hotel. We could not praise the staff enough for their attention to detail. Room very comfortable, only complaint TV stations very limited. Will be back again to visit. Location super great walks and views of Galway Bay. Thanking you for a great Break. Marie Ward
Excellent hotel, rooms were lovely and big, breakfast buffet had healthy and the big fry. The location was beautiful right on the seafront. 25 min stroll into town. Leisure centre was fab also. I don't normally write reviews, but I would like to recommend this hotel. Liz from Wexford October 13
Had a very enjoyable stay. Excellent hotel. Absolutely no complaints. Very comfortable room. Perfect location. Would definitely return
Excellent hotel , new fresh interiors, spotless rooms fabulous food and terrific location. Would definitely recommend a stay and look forward to returning real soon.
lovely hotel , great location, helpful staff, good food
Very enjoyable stay, hotel lovely & clean, staff very friendly. Highly recommend.
Siobhán & Chris - Offaly - 7th September 2013 We had a great 1 night stay in this beautiful hotel last week. The bedroom was lovely, bathroom very spacious and great power shower. Stunning sea view. Leisure centre was first class, would go again purely for the hydra pool and hot tub! We had dinner in the lounge followed by a few drinks while listening to a great band. There was a great buzz about the place. I did not want to leave. Breakfast was delicious and the staff very attentive. I loved this hotel and will definitely go again. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay most enjoyable.
We selected the Salthill Hotel through Lidl Breaks. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We found the Hotel extremely comfortable and offered great facilities including leisure and swimming pool. The staff were excellent, friendly ,courteous and always helpful. We ate all our meals in the Hotel and the quality of the food was top class ! We would recommend this Hotel to anyone who wants an enjoyable breakaway !
Very comfortable hotel,I found the staff to be courteous and helpful at all times, the bar food was excellent and reasonably priced, breakfast was also very good, would definitely stay at the Salthill Hotel again.....
We had a really comfortable and enjoyable stay at Salthill Hotel. The staff were warm, accomodating and very friendly. The food was excellent and the rooms were of a high standard.
Hotel is set in a lovely location right on the Prom. On entering the hotel lobby, we were greeted with a warm welcome. Informed that the event that was taking place in the hotel would finish at 1am, which it did. Bedroom in need of revamp, as there was no air-conditioning & in result had to leave the window open. I asked for sea view but got a big stone wall outside my window & there was a fan in operation for the kitchens which was not turned off until after midnight which wasn't very relaxing as you could not sleep. Breakfast was very appetising & filling. Staff were very friendly. weather was beautiful. Nice place to be on a sunny day. Bedroom 2 stars.
bedroom in need of revamp. I asked for sea view but got a big stone wall outside my window lucky we were staying one night only. Staff lovely very friendly. weather was beautiful. Nice place to be on a sunny day. Bedroom 2 stars.
I spent 2 nights with bed and breakfast and one evening meal in this hotel. What a great hotel. Room was lovely and spacious, service was excellent and food was lovely. The cleanliness of the hotel was great and I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to to my friends.
The Hotel itself has a fantastic location on the promenade in Salthill. The Hotel Reception, Dining Room, Restaurant, Bar and Leisure Centre were quite impressive and spotless but the standard of hygiene in the bedroom was very disappointing therefore losing one star in my review. The bathroom had mould on the ceiling (possible from a leak in the overhead bedroom), the walls opposite the bed were very dirty and could have done with a clean or paint and a valance sheet on the bed had a large stain on it (giving the impression that it wasn't changed). If the bedrooms had a make over I would give the Salthill Hotel 4 stars until then it only deserves 2 stars. Linda
my stay was very enjoyable..hotel was lovely.food was fab and all da staff barmaids.receptionists and upstairs girls were very nice and very accomadating.hotel was immaculate..thank you as it was super value..looking forward to booking wit ye again..i would give it 4 stars .
Superb hotel. Stafff friendly & very helpful. Food excellent. Priced reasonable. Three star Hotel Five star standards.
stayed here last weekend, it was brillant from start to finish. lovely staff everyone so helpful and friendly. food very very food, leisure center first class. Music in the bar really good. weddings both days so a great buss in the hotel. will most certainly be back.
Three Star Hotel. FIVE STAR standard
Had a great one night stay here with my daughter last Thursday night. Check in staff very helpful, efficient and polite, but same could not be said of bar staff that night. Food we got that evening was great and portions exceptionally large - but level of service for drinks in the bar was very poor and the bar was not busy at all. Room was okay but could do with a bit of updating and bathroom tidy with only shower no bath. Leisure facilities great and location brilliant however the real let down was the bar staff on the night we were there.
we were attending a wedding at galway bay hotel so we priced salthill hotel and were quoted 200 euro so we were delighted to get it for 78 euro on lidl breaks , the staff were lovely and hotel was beautiful but found the rooms old fashioned , the shower was cold at 11am the next morning and there were no sausages left in breakfast room at 10.15 , but we got some when we asked . Thanks a mil.
We stayed at The Salthill Hotel for 3 nights in May. Everything about the hotel was fabulous, the beautiful suite we were upgraded to with the lovely views of salthill beach & promenade! The restaurant & the food which was inclusive each night of our stay, the breakfast in bed for only €5 extra! The staff in all areas were welcoming & friendly. It was a pleasure to spend time in this beautiful hotel we would highly recommend it, we will definately be returning. :-))
Friendly reception ,good food, excellent accommodation, promenade location and lively atmosphere. Overall a very enjoyable stay
My husband and I recently spent one night on the dinner, B and B. package. Overall a very good hotel and as good as many 4star hotels we've previously stayed in. The food was excellent with generous portions and a good choice. Service, check in etc were all of a high standard. Only negative was that we had actually booked a double room but were given one with 2 beds just pushed together. All in all a very enjoyable stay and will definitely return. E and G
Great stay, room small but clean, shower lovely. Great value for breakfast in bed. Staff lovely.
Arrived last Tuesday 16th. April & we were very impressed with the hotel. It was a miserable afternoon & the lobby & bar were so warm & welcoming. We had 2 very comfortable bedrooms. Really enjoyed the dinner & coffee. Staff excellent. Would stay there again
We had a very nice stay at the salthill hotel. the hotel is very clean, the music in the bar was very enjoyable. and the leisure centre was very nice. We will definately be goinghe hotel is back. The weather was beautiful which was a lovely surprise as the situation of the hotel on the promedade is ideal.
Great hotel, very friendly staff, really enjoyed my stay. Would definitely recommend it and would come back again
If you are looking for a good location, clean rooms and a good gym this is the ideal location. It is very good value for money. The food in the bar is also very good with very friendly staff.
Booked this getwaway for myself and my partner. We had a great time. Very much enjoyed the service, the food and the hospitality! Would definately recommend to friends and family.
We were very impressed with this hotel ,had a lovely stay there.staff were very friendly .The food in the prom resturant was beautiful .The only negative thing was no bath in room and toilet was unstable and didnt flush properly .
the noise rating was un acceptable on the saturday night of our stay. there was a wedding on and when i complained i was informed i should have nko been placed in that room. musi c was very loud up until 3.30 am1 i never slept all night and had a pounding headache1 i complained during night and next am1 I WAS ONLY REFUNDED 20 EURO AND I FEEL THAT WAS NOT ADEQUATE 1 HOPING TO HEAR FROM YOU SOON1 kind regards, Noreen Smyth
Went to the Salthill Hotel with my mother for Mother's Day. This was my second time stay here and it was just as pleasant as the my first stay. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The dinner and breakfast was excellent and portions were really good. The bedroom was really spacious and comfortable. I had asked if I could have a seaview room and was kindly facilitated. I will be definitley return for another stay at this hotel.
We would thoroughly recommend the Salthill hotel. They made us feel welcome and nothing was a problem. It was warm and comfortable. The food in the bar very tasty. The pool is one of the best we have used. Everything was so clean. It is very convenient for a visit to the city or out to Connemara. We will certainly return .
Just back from a weekend at this hotel, Location is top notch. Right on The Prom in Salthill. Easy access into Galway city. The lobby and bar area are very nice. Checkin was swift with no problems. Room was small but clean,Bathroom was clean with a great shower but could really do with a fan in there. Takes ages for steam to clear after a shower. Walls are paper thin, You could hear conversations from both sides. The hotel was very busy, Weddings on both days We were there. We had lunch in the bar after arriving, Food was ok. Portion sizes were huge. Lounge Girl was lovely and service by her was very good. Grainne was her name but later that night the same could not be said about the barmen, They were shocking. You had to wait forever for a drink. Breakfast was good with plenty of everything and service here was also good. Overall I enjoyed My stay and would probably come back. I would have given the hotel a 3 and a half star rating if possible but certainly not a 4.
Have stayed in this hotel 4 or 5 times always enjoyed our stay until this time, when we arrived there was no room booked for us this was due to the fact that lidl breaks had not forwarded our booking . The hotel was fully booked out however after some time we were given a room. We were very disappointed as the room was small and the bathroom was tiny, there was no hot water. The staff are very friendly and helpful . It was not the fault of the hotel but lidl breaks as this was our first time booking through them it would make me think before booking through them again. Everything else was fine, breakfast was lovely and bar food excellent. Star rating purely reflecting the room we had, friends of ours was staying there as well and their room was excellent.
Excellent and enjoyable stay at the Salthill Hotel. The staff could not have been friendlier, from reception through to bar and restaurant. Room very spacious and well kept. Blackrock Cafe & Bar offers a lovely retreat to people watch and relax, while the food served in the Prom restaurant is really good. We had a lovely meal there on the second night as part of our stay and were not disappointed. Great location too! We enjoyed the views from our stroll along the promenade and into Galway city; but there's a bus available too from right outside. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone considering a visit to the area.
Had a lovely stay at the hotel with my wife staff could not have been nicer, we had dinner in the bar on the night we arrived which was very nice, and the breakfast was great.. you could eat as much or as little as you liked.. Would defo stay again..
We stayed 2 nights in this hotel and would highly recommend it. The location, staff, facilities, bar and food are all excellent. It was also very good value through the Lidl breaks.
EXCELLENT hotel with 1st class accommodation and facilities. The stsff are friendly, helpfull, and professional. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone
Had a great time in this hotel. Staff are lovely and friendly and helpf. Breakfast is good. It's an ideal location and very child friendly. Will stay again love the pool
We found the hotel absolutly brilliant rooms were great breakfast was huge! Staff in breakfast room were really attentive`. Alas the meal we had on sat nite was awful`we both ordered beef which was very thin (2 slices) and looked as if it was lying in kitchen for some time ) veg was not very hot also ` We would go back to hotel in a flash but will use bar food as an alternative1
We have just returned from our second stay in the Salthill Hotel - we stayed there previously in December 2012 and decided to go back to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We find the hotel excellent in every way - the reception staff are friendly and helpful and welcomming. The waitressess and housekeepers always smiling and friendly also. We were staying on the morning of Pancake Tuesday and when I remarked to one of the waitressess that I was surprised that there were no pancakes for breakfast (not that I needed them!!) she said I will mention it to the chef. She returned in a few minutes and said sorry there were no pancakes. However a few minutes later she returned again and said the chef said he would cook some pancakes for me!! Very shortly she returned with a plate of delicious fluffy light pancakes specially for me!! Now, how good a service is that!! The corner front room we had was very spacious and clean - the bed was very comfortable - all in all we had a delightful stay and will recommend the hotel to friends and family.
Absolutely fine, room was on the small side but still very good value, very fresh feel to the hotel all round, will definately book through lidl breaks again
great hotel good food friendly staff
Excellent hotel. Breakfast good Rooms 90% Staff excellent Car parking excellent Will return GREAT value for money
THIS IS A GREAT HOTEL IN A BEAUTIFUL LOCATION. iT IS JUST ACROSS THE ROAD FROM THE PROMENADE & IS IN ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL LOCATIONS YOU COULD IMAGINE. ITS WITHIN AN EASY WALK OF GALWAY CITY CENTRE. tHE HOTEL IS BUSY WITH GOOD BAR FOOD, A RESTAURANT & A BREAKFAST DINING ROOM, WHERE WE HAD A BEAUTIFUL VARIED BREAKFAST, WITH ALL THE CEREALS, FRUITS, YOGURTS, BREADS, CHEESE YOU WOULD EVER NEED. ADDITIONALLY, THERE WAS A SELF SERVICE COOKED IRISH BREAKFAST. WE HAD A BRILLIANT NIGHTS SLEEP IN A VERY COMFY, QUIET ROOM. WE MADE A REQUEST FOR A ROOM IN A QUIET PART OF HOTEL & THIS WE GOT. WE DIDNT HAVE TIME TO USE THE FITNESS CENTRE OR POOL BUT THEY WERE LOVELY. THIS IS OUR 2ND TIME IN THIS HOTEL & WE WILL DEFINITELY RETURN LATER THIS YEAR!
Beautiful hotel, staff very pleasant. Bedroom lovely. Location perfect. Would highly recommend.
the hotel was very good and the piano player in the lounge was verry good and the food was good but our room must have been the coldest in the hotel the raditor never warmed up for the weekend we were there but the shower was hot i reported it but nothing was done it was good job we only had to sleep as you could not stay in it without 2 sweatshirts on all in all i enjojed it but stay away form room 106
The Salthill Hotel is ideally located for people who enjoy brisk walks by the sea. If the weather is not suitable for outdoor activity the city is easily reached and offers shops, bars, theatres and cimemas. The hotel is comfortable and the meals were very good. There is an excellent leisure centre in the hotel and there is entertainment in the bar at weekends. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Carparking is available on the grounds.
This hotel is excellent and should be rated a four star instead of a three star. The leisure facilities are excellent with a large jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. The food in the hotel is excellent with a great choice on the dinner menu on both nights. The hotel is well situated opposite the promanade which is lovely for long walks. Had a room with a sea view which was lovely. Could not fault this hotel at all and staff were all lovely.

Kevin o neill Salthill Hotel is a lovely hotel staff friendly helpful and greet you with a smile I stayed 2 nights room very good breakfast excelent next time will go back to Salthill Hotel
We had a lovely stay in the hotel....only thing i could complain about would be that the menu did not have any options of it for people with any dietary requirements...ie coelic or diary intolerance , other than that lovely hotel friendly staff and very comfortable beds.
my wife and i had lovely time and the stay was most enjoyable , the staff were very helpful, the accommodation was bright and comfortable. food was magnificent and evening entertainment in the bar was second to none so overall it was great value for money we will be back p.g.
We stayed in the Salthill Hotel over Christmas and had a wonderful time .The facilities were excellent ie Leisure centre,on the beach, entertainment. The staff were very courteous at all times.Galway city is only a short bus ride or a good stroll away.A good atmosphere in the arty Latin quarter on a lazy Saturday afternoon strolling around and having oysters and Guinness is what i call heaven.Fantastic walk on the prom to clear the head on the Sunday morning followed by lunch in Morans on the weir in Kilcolgan with Galway bay mussels washed down with a Guinness ...Have you booked yet.
This Hotel is just fantastic and should be rated as a four star Hotel. We had the most amazing time and will go back again this year. Firstly the staff were excellent but the Hotel itself has great facilities too. The swimming pools (2 pools) are great and the resturant served fantastic food. The bar was huge and was very nicely decorated as was the reception and breakfast area. The Hotel has the advantage on being opposite the Promanade in Salthill so is great for walks by the sea. There is a lot to do and see in Salthill but if you feel like heading into the city centre without your car, there is a bus service that stops outside the Hotel too. Overall rating 5/5 +++++ Linda
Had an amazing stay at this hotel. Could not find fault with anything, food, staff, room everything was just so perfect. I can not understand why this hotel is only 3star,would recommend to anybody wishing to stay in the area to choose this outstanding hotel, will return!
stayed here night before new years all was lovely bar food delicious staff really nice and friendly helpful . Pool leisure class onlly downfall is we were in room 120 and its a bit noicy as i think the function room is below it . breakfast lovely plenty of choice
HOTEL BEAUTIFUL, SERVICE. AA RATING AND VERY FRIENDLY AND ACCOMODATING STAFF. WAS THERE FOR A WEDDING WEDDING MEAL BEAUTIFUL AND BREAKFAST FRESH AND GOOD VARIATION OF CHOICE NICE WARM AND CLEAN ROOMS WOULD DEFINETLY STAY AGAIN
Had a wedding there this christmas. Hotel reception area lovely, bar very nice, food at the wedding very good, service attentive at wedding and in reception too. Rooms basic enough. Not as "pretty" as photo on website and two people wouldnt stand in the bathroom as it is very economical in size. But beds comfy, overall a nice stay and would go back.
My husband and I stayed in The Salthill Hotel on 3 day break offer - 7th, 8th and 9th Dec 2012. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - had lovely spacious room on 4th floor overlooking the promenade - lovely bathroom, comfortable bed with good quality bedding. Excellent breakfast choices - no one should leave the dinning-room hungry. Even though there was a wedding party on the Sat night the hotel was surprisingly quiet throughout the night. Staff throughout the hotel were friendly - we have recommended the hotel to several people on our return. R and J Boyd
the salthill hotel is one of the best hotels we have stop in the staff were great will go again
Had a very pleasant stay at the salthill hotel last wknd. Two twin rooms were booked and we got very large sea view rooms which were comfortable warm clean and very spacious. The staff were friendly and the breakfast which we had served to our room was nice. All up it was an enjoyable stay. Couldn't fault it.
The Salthill Hotel is a lovely place to stay. The staff are very friendly and approachable. the room we stayed in was bright and immaculately clean, as was the bathroom and the bed was very comfy!! The breakfast buffet was fantastic. There was an excellent choice of various foods to satisfy even the most fussy eaters and the quality was excellent. We had dinner in the Prom restaurant, and the food there was excellent also. I would highly recommend the Salthill Hotel as a base to stay on a break to Galway.
Stayed here 3 nights 27-29 Nov '12. On 1st morning had a cold shower as the boiler had broken down. Room had a small window with a view of an internal court yard. The matteress was collasping at the edge midway between top and bottom which resulted in a slope in the bed to the outside edge. The bar was large and nicely decorated but there was a cold draught by the windows. They need to close the curtains to keep the place warm. The fitness centre was very good, breakfast was top notch and the staff were excellent. If I was to go back I would definitely have to have a room with a sea view and a bed with a good matteress.
Salthill Hotel fantastic, we requested a sea view which was just wounderful, the facilities, food & service was first class, We will definately going back. Many thanks to everyone who helped make our stay so memorable.
Stayed in the Salthill Hotel for one night.Lovely room-spotlessly clean and very comfortable-with sea view as requested.Fabulous food in the Prom restaurant but service was very slow.Great breakfast the following morning including gorgeous brown bread made on the premises.IThe only downside was we could hear the person in the next room snoring and some noisy wedding guests at 5a.m.!Despite this,I give the hotel five stars for great staff, accommodation, food and location.I will definitely return and have already recommended it to friends. Maria
We enjoyed our stay. Nice comfortable hotel, excellent staff, good food. Our stay spoiled by noisy neighbours in room next door.
Have to say we had a very pleasant stay here and I cannot fault it at all. I would go back again x
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were lovely as was the food and accommodation. Would recommend it to anyone great value
great hotel, brillent staff, good value for money, lovely location, good food. intend to a return visit
Really enjoyed our recent stay in the salthill hotel. Staff really made us feel welcome. Food was great.
Fabalous hotel can not fault it at all 10 out of 10 5 stars
Really nice hotel and very friendly and helpfull staff. No problem staying there again.
Couldnt have had better. Amazing hotel, location, staff. All round perfect stay. Thank you.
Everything was excellent from the attitude of the staff, the quality of the food, to the leisure facilities. Great value, I would recommend this hotel for anyone. Definitely 5 stars!
Great hotel and fantastic location. Our room was lovely with a clear sea view - Room 230 for anyone who wants to know! Great buzz in the hotel with a wedding on both nights. Bar is fantastic and hotel staff are very friendly. One thing to note though - my folks were in a room at the side of the hotel (room 220) and there was a lot of noise from a bus/people leaving at 4am in the morning from one of the weddings, engine on bus running constantly for about 20 minutes while people boarded so no sleep there for them. So would recommend anyone ask for a room at the front of the hotel and away from the reception. Otherwise, this is a fantastic hotel, with an excellent leisure centre. Food is lovely too!
Very enjoyable ,accomodation excellent location lovelystaff extremely plesant. Would definetly recommend it .
My husband, baby daughter and I spent three lovely nights at the Salthill Hotel in September. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The bar and restaurant are lovely with a great view of the Salthill promenade. We had food in the bar on our first night and ate in the restaurant the following two nights and the food was great in both. We were very happy with the breakfast buffet, good quality food and always hot. The leisure centre was amazing, clean and spacious. We were very happy with the size of our room - plenty of space for the travel cot. It was located just above reception and whilst there was a little bit of noise from coaches on occassion it didn't last very long and we didn't find it disruptive. The cleaners came in each day of our stay and both cleaned and tidied up, topping up the toiletries too. The hotel is in a great location - a lot closer to Galway city than I thought. We will definitely be recommending it to our friends.
disappointing visit for a four star hotel. staff friendly and helpful. bar food was very fancy and not very nice the two nights we ate there. we also had to have our mattress changed on the second day due to it being so hard which i have never seen done before. no hair dryer in the room either, the rooms were spotless. very busy hotel. if you are looking for a quiet break i wouldn't recommend this hotel
Excellent hotel, friendly staff, great food and location, while there go see Trad on the prom is located in the hotel and a fantastic show
Stayed in this hotel for two nights from 16th Sept. and had a reallly good time. Nicely situated in Salthill, away from the main street and bus stop for Eyre Square just outside the front door. Overall a reallly great stay and will return again in the future. Only complaint was our room was situated over the main entrance and got a bit noisey early in the morning with coach tours leaving. Otherwise a reallly nice hotel
Really nice hotel, very centrally located but not right in the heart of Salthill which was great. Loads of parking, beautiful leisure centre and rooms were really nice too. They were severely let-down however by the service in the bar on Saturday & Sunday night and also the service in the Prom Restaurant wasn't great. We were there on Saturday for the IronMan comp, there was 14 of us in the bar for dinner on Sat evening. It took 3 attempts (over the space of an hour) to get someone to take an order for food, then the food was 40 minutes coming. There was a wedding on also so we put the delays down to that. On Sunday, we weren't ordering food but it still took ages for anyone to take a drinks order & I heard someone complaining that they were waiting ages to order food. The Prom restaurant was lovely but again, the service wasn't great. It took them a while to take an order. Some of the group got their starters while the rest waited nearly 10 mins - same for the mains and then we were waiting half an hour for desert. The food was all beautiful - both bar food and the restaurant food though the goat's cheese tartlet should be renamed 'caramelised onion with a dot of goat's cheese'! We had lovely service for breakfast on both days, staff were really lovely and interacted really well with the 2 year old child who was with us. Overall, despite the poor service in the evenings, we had a lovely time, would highly recommend the hotel and we will definitely stay there again for next year's IronMan!
Very enjoyable weekend.Loved the bar food (very reasonable and great choice and the breakfast. Great music in the bar on Saturday night. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bed very comfy and the room lovely. The only complaint was the room was very warm as there was no air conditioning. Would come back in the morning !! Mary from Meath
I booked two double rooms at this hotel. was really disappointed as the rooms were not near each other. I was really surprised when the rooms were of a different standard. One room was really nice and deserved the 3 star hotel rating. However, the 2ND room was the same standard if not worse as a Travelodge. It was definitely not up to a 3 star standard. This really disappointed me. The hotel bar prices are rip off. Dublin hotel bars would be a lot cheaper than this place. To say the buffet breakfast was a disgrace is an under statement. It was horrible. The bacon and sausages .were burned and dryed up. The beans and eggs the look of them was enough to know not to eat them. They had Wheaten bread and croissants sitting out in baskets. They looked as if people had just put their hands in the baskets and squashed the bread and croissants. Avoided this. The orange juice tasted as if it had been watered down, as it tasted like diluting orange. We ordered brown bread toast for 4 people. We were horrified to.notice that our toast was blue moulded. I complained and was told that the bread was fresh. I said if the bread was fresh it would not be mouldy. I was then told the bread was one day out of date. I think this is a disgrace to serve stale bread in an hotel. I wouldn't eat mouldy bread at home and do not expect.to be served this in. Hotel, and hope I don't notice. After complaining we got the breakfast free. we didn't eat much breakfast as the poor quality we seen on display, we were turned off completely. A real haven for bacteria. Really disappointed with the poor effort of a breakfast. Will definitely not be staying here again or eating food in the restaurant. Poor effort and disgusted.
I recently stayed in the Salt Hill hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were so friendly on arrival , really made us feel welcome. We ate in the bar that evening , waiting staff were so attentive also and the food was very well presented and served very quickly. Our bedroom was lovely, sea view and really clean and spacey. We really enjoyed our stay and will definately return in the near future.
We stayed one night in the Salthill Hotel and we will definitely go back. We got a lovely room overlooking the sea as requested. The staff friendly. The hotel has a fabulous gym and swimming area. Well worth a stay. four star rating
had a great time ,lovely staff and nothing too much trouble..
one night stay for a party of 7 on 21st June 2012 on bed and breakfast and dinner basis ,Hotel staff room and facilities were first class, food was excellent and great value for money. The 7 of us had a great time and we will be returning again and we would highly recommend this to anyone. SD
Having spent two nights in the sathill hotel through lidl.ie we have nothing but praise for the staff, the food, the accomodation and the leisure centre. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hopefully we will be back!
great price, value and location for a over night stay in galway
I could not fault this hotel staff food and bedroom where all excellent. We will be back again.
We had a lovely stay at the Salthill Hotel. The weather was beautiful and we had a memorable afternoon listening to the 'Hot Sausage Band' outside the hotel in the sunshine! We enjoyed the food and the staff were extremely helpful and courteous. We would thoroughly recommend.
Very pleasant stay. Polite and friendly staff. Would stay again
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, comfortable spacious rooms, great power shower and fantastic food. We'll be back!
We stayed a Sunday night at the Salthill hotel and had a very enjoyable stay. It is right at the middle of the promanade and perfect for walking either way. Indeed the currach races were in front of the hotel when we arrived. The room we stayed in was nice, comfortable and big. The view of an internal courtyard could have been better. Dinner in the Prom resteraunt facing the atlantic was enjoyable, while breakfast in the other dining area set us up well for the day. We had music and dancing in the lounge after dinner. All in all a 4 star stay. Thanks Lidl again.
Very friendly staff Food excellent Very good atmosphere Will return
We had a lovely stay over the Bank holiday weekend. The hotel is in a great location just across the road from the sea. The room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. The food was really delicious and all the staff were pleasant and helpful. I thought it was really good value and everything was of a very high standard and of 4* quality. Ann
super hotel, polecam! Przemiła obsługa, wyśmienite jedzenie :) Super spedzony czas :)
really enjoyed our stay staff lovely and very helpful
We had a really lovely time at the Salthill Hotel. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating, nothing was too much trouble, even finding my coat after I'd left it on a tour bus! Some of our family were staying at the G Hotel and they complained about how difficult it was to get a cup of tea at breakfast. Everything was served at the Salthill promptly and with a smile. The pool area was super clean and it was great to have two pools, so the kids didn't interfere with some real exercise! Our family room was a little cramped but included a superking for the grown ups and my two boys were delighted they didn't have to share a bed. Unbelievably there were plenty of vegetarian options for the dinner and these were pretty good. The only downside were the other guests. What makes people think it's alright to shout down a corridor at 3am when other people are sleeping? I think a reminder to them to stay quiet late at night would not go amiss. My tip would be to leave the car at the Salthill and catch a bus for only €1.70 into Eyre Square. Taxis cost quite a bit.
we really enjoyed our time in the hotel everyone was very pleasent and helpfull the one concern was that at dinner there was no choice for vegetarians i would definetely stay at thehotel again
Just fantastic from start to finish and the staff a joy .Thank you and we will see you again v v v soon .Kind regards sergio cotugno ,tullamore...
This is a really lovely hotel. It is just across from the famous salthill promenade. Lovely view of Galway Bay. The hotel is very welcoming. Myself my wife and two cousins from Chicago stayed here last week. The rooms were excellent and our dinner was lovely. The rate with the lidil breaks was excellent. We had never stayed in this hotel before and I would recommend it. It is not too far from the city centre. It is about a 10mn. drive or you can take a bus. It is a lovely walk along the promenade, very refreshing. We would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone going to Galway. It is central too for anyone wishing to drive out towards Connemara. The music is also very good.
Had a fantastic mid-week break at the Salthill Hotel during Easter week. The hotel was amazing; location, accommodation, food, entertainment and superb leisure centre. This hotel is much better that some 4 Star hotels we have previously stayed in. The lidl-breaks are excellent value for money. Would recommend this hotel for all age groups, with seaside location and proximity to the vibrant Galway City.
Had a very enjoyable stay in the Salthill Hotel. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel was very clean. The evening meal was excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. The only fault I had was that we didn't book it for 2 nights! Great value already planning to go back! I would give this hotel a 4 star rating. Michelle
Really nice hotel this was our second time to stay at this hotel. We were delighted to get a room with a seaview as requested. Beautiful rooms very well kept and clean. Staff were very effiicent especially in the bar. Very nice leisure facilities, really nice food with a good menu. Only complaints we had was there was a limited choice of meals for young child (20mths) either baby bowl or a course off the kiddies menu which worked out quite expensive for a baby. Also upon arrival a pre authorisation was taken from our credit card which we thought wouldnt actually be taken from our account, however on checkout we found we had to pay the full balance as well as the pre authorisation amount being "frozen" for up to 3 working days which was a bit of pain if you hadnt budgeted for it. On querying this we were told "this is the way its done". However we have stayed at many hotels around the country and havent experienced this. A pre authorisation is often taken but the amount is not "frozen" for 3 days were it cant be accessed. At the very least it would be nice if guests were warned that this would happen. On the whole a lovely hotel. Giving a four star rating taking 1 off for the two reasons above.
Lovely hotel, staff friendly & food was great!
Lovely friendly staff very helpful with advice on irish music venues in Galway craic is great every night Tig Coili is great Taffes and The crane are good hotel room spacious and comfortable food in evening very nicely presented and tasty breakfast choice very good staff at breakfast very friendly and attentive great location for beach and Galway city which is a lovely 4KM promenade walk or a 10 min bus ride Good 25m swimming pool set out in 7 lanes what comfort for real swimmers will be back soon. 4 star
stayed here for a weekend in march . could not find any fault with hotel, staff were very friendly and very helpful. food was excellent in all areas and service very quick. would stay here again and will use Celtic media breaks again.
Margaret, Wexford Stayed in the Salthill Hotel in April ,Lovely lay out in hotel check in was very quick, Staff were very pleasant, food excellant in bar and restaurant, leisure centre clean, and spacious changing facilities, drink just cost a little bit more than what we normally pay, over all would stay there again
We found all aspect of our stay enjoyable. room, clean and presentable. Food.high standard and good choice of menu. Bar.good entertainment not bad, guinness not great All staff were very good and friendly working to a high level throughout the hotel 4 star rating
fantastic hotel great rooms great food great bar enjoyed every minute
Weekend in Salthill Hotel was most enjoyable. Room was very nice, dinner wasexceptional but what I enjoyed most was the Leisure centre. Staff were also very nice and helpful. We would certainly return to this hotel again. We booked the hotel on the Lidl Break and no regrets there, it was great. Four star rating. Mary Deegan. .
We had a great time at the Salthill Hotel - just sorry it was only one night. The room was spacious and comfortabe- the wifi worked perfectly. The dinner was very good as was the breakfast
the hotel was excellent, staff were very polite and helpful, i found the food excellent and to a very high quality, the pool and gym area are top class over all I totally enjoyed the week end and would recomend it to anyone
I would have not hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone. I stayed there for a weekend with my husband recently and found the rooms very spacious and clean. The staff very friendly especially the head waiter at breakfast time he was a very pleasant man and made you feel very welcome which is nice also the breakfast was served till 11oc. The breakfast was lovely as was the evening meal. There was music in the bar Friday and Saturday and this added to our enjoyment. I will be paying a return visit at some stage. I would give this hotel a 4 star rating Happy hotel customer
Stayed in the Salthill Hotel for two nights B&B plus a Dinner and have to say we were over joyed with the whole thing. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are so friendly. The food was great and the room was so nice and we will be defo going back to the hotel. We have to say for the price we got it for off the Lidl Breaks it was a steel.
Great location. The hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly and very helpful. The food was good and drink prices at the bar were reasonable. This is a first class well run hotel. Henry Kenny Linerick
Salthill Hotel Without a doubt one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in, staff so helpful and pleasant, food lovely, rooms very nice, bar very tastefully decorated, music in bar fab. Had brill time, will definately go back there. Rating for me 5 star Kathleen
Modern, clean, warm hotel. All the staff were very friendly. Restaurant food was excellent with large choice. Good location for healthy walks on the promenade. Large buffet choice for breakfast. Couldn't find fault. Great value for money.
Fab hotel, lovely staff, had a fantastic break.
Meal was lovely Room was big and comfortable
Hotel 1st Class.Staff friendly and helpful. Food wonderful. Facilities excellent. Fabollous location. This is the second time my family stayed in this hotel and again we had a wonderful time. will certainly be back.
We didn't get the front room we requested but a side sea-view room . Comfortable and well heated with an excellent shower . I found the evening meal to be fair (veggie pasta was much too creamy) but breakfast was fine and my wife was pleased with both meals . Public areas are pleasant and location excellent . Very good value for money .
We stayed Salthill Hotel at the weekend, it was our 37th Wedding Anniversary, We really enjoyed it Food, Room with sea view, Leisure Pool all excellent and really nice staff. On the down side no safe,or fridge, 4 star
Had an absolutley fabulous time at SaltHill Hotel recently. 2 Adults, 2 kids - large & clean family room. Great food, great leisure centre pool and really excellent, friendly staff. Staff very helpful & friendly to their customers. Overall highly recommend this hotel.
Had a lovely two night stay with my mother on 29th and 30th January 2012. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was brilliant. I was really delighted with the spacious room with a sea view even though the weather was not very good. There was a bus stop around the corner where one could get a bus to the centre of Galway city, so no hassle trying to find parking spaces!! I will be back in the summertime to this wonderful hotel.
Stayed on fourth floor with lovely views for 2 nights last weeekend. Very satisfied. Food excellent, staff very helpul and friendly. Pool and leisure centre superb as was location. Great value for money and will definitely be back again soon. Well done on upgrading this lovely hotel.
Cant praise this hotel enough. Excellent staff, service, food, comfort, facilities etc. Will certainly be back .
Top notch. if you get a room in the new part, then this is a four star stay, especially if you get a room with a view. Spacious bathroom with a glass shower screen, not a curtain, and double vanity basins. Air con as well as music (Power TV media player) on the telly, it just needs a little cheap digital safe and it would be up there with the best .Food was really good, served in the new bistro to the front, much trendier than the old restaurant at the back where breakfast is served. Leisure centre is superb. Will be back.
Great hotel!! staff very friendly great location highly recommended!!!
We stayed in the Salthill hotel for our 25th Wedding Anniveristy. We were very well taken Care off from the moment of our arrival. The Managerest Pauline & the receptionist Peggy Could not have made our stay any more enjoyable. We got married in the salthill hotel 25 years to the day we arrived. Date 20th of December 1986. All the Best to all the staff at the Salthill Hotel. Everything about the hotel was great.Good luck in the future. This hotel should be a Four Star . Maurice & Kate
Excellent hotel, everything was perfect! Staff were friendly, the dinner was amazing and the room was perfect... not one thing negative I can say about the experience!
may i say, i have stayed in many places over the years, but i can say this was one of the best hotels, i have stayed, the staff, room and the food were excellent value for money . i would defiantly come again. i would rate it 5 star
I stayed in Salthill Hotel last weekend through Lidl breaks.ie .There was a party of 20 of us a birthday party .The food and the facilities were excellent, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We will all definitely be re booking
I stay with my wife and family ( 7 of us, it was my Daughter and two sons birthdays during the previous weeks ) at the Salthill Hotel last weekend. Facilities were excellent. Dinner in the Prom Restaurant was superb. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. Will definately return.
Stayed here on the 25th to 27th nov. First night was terrible as there was a wedding directly below our room. no sleep until after 4am. even in the morning we could hear the piped music and chairs being moved. HOWEVER, staff were very appologetic and moved us to a room on the third floor which was was very nice, quiet and second night was really nice. So a nice place to stay, provided you are not on the first floor!
Stayed in Satlhill Hotel for 3 nights 20, 21, 22 nd November 2011 There was a great buss in the hotel when we arrived, the Galway Glamor Day was on so there was lots of people around. We got a warm welcome from the reception Staff. Our room was not ready as we were a little early so the porter looked after our luggage and brought it to our bedroom . We were on the 3rd floor which i requested and we had the most beautiful view looking out at the sea. The room was very nice and spacious. We eat in the hotel the 3 nights the food was excellent and the staff were lovely and all very friendly I think this hotel should be a 4 star. I will be back in 2012 Please God Ed and PP Kildare
lovely hotel to stay in and staff very friendly
17th November 2011 My friend and I travelled to Salthill for a weekend away on the 11th November. It was our first time to stay at the hotel, could not fault a thing from food to bedroom to staff, we will definitely return in 2012 god willing to spend another weekend here .We give the hotel a 5 star rating
Lovely hotel ideally located just across the road from the promenade so we were able to get out for a leisurely walk as the weather was good. Stayed for one night and the evening meal was included which was top class as was the service. Our stay was for one night so didn't get to try out the leisure facilities but maybe next time as would definitely stay at this hotel again. Top marks to Lidl also and I think this is the fourth time that I've booked a great value break with them.
had a great time the waiter hugo made our night /he made our night and was so helpful thank you hugo xxx sharon
myself and my husband had a two night stay in the hotel. we really enjoyed the break. the only fault we found was the entertainment on Saturday night did not start until after 10 30 which we found to be a bit late. The staff could not be more helpful and would recomment a stay in this hotel. food was lovely and will definetly return
We arrived at Salthill Hotel on 5th November 2011 and we were really impressed with the hotel , we were delighted to find out we had received an upgrade to a sea view room. The room was really big and the view was lovely. We went to book dinner and the hotel was really busy but after a short wait in the bar they found us a table. The food was lovely apart from the fact that the waiter spilt my pint of Guinness on me which he did replace and I asked for chips instead of mashed potatoes and I got mashed potatoes and no chips. The waitress said she would change it but my wife had her meal so I just left it as it was. Our package included a two course dinner and we were give a three course menu , we pointed this out to the waitress as we didn't want the extra course added to our bill but she said it was fine that we could have the three courses. We had a nice evening in the bar afterwards , there was live music on and the bar was busy which gave a great atmosphere. Overall we had a good experience , the staff were very helpful and we would return and we were very happy with what we got for the price we paid , I think we got a bargain. We would recommend this hotel to any visitors to Salthill.
First immpressions - check in was not great, didnt get full attention that I would expect.Food was very good.Room was very nice and very clean. Had pre requested a quiet room as light sleepers and was assured we had recieved one. We were placed on top floor, 4 flights above bar and function room, and the bass thumped through the room till 3.15am after phoning reception, complaining, at 3.00 am...not conducive to a good nights sleep at all. Next morning, Manager very nice and very apologetic and sent us a complimentary bottle of wine and reassured us he had informed his night management that music would cease before midnight on Saturday. The bass finally stopped thumping through the room at 12.40am. Fantastic value for money under the Lidl Breaks Package but unfortunately I was using the hotel for somewhere to sleep - isnt that what hotels are for?.We were visiting Galway to see our student son, but will not return to Salthill Hotel again.
We stayed in the Salthill Hotel recently and really enjoyed it. The food was very good as was the service. The leisure centre was excellent, we will definitely go back again, thanks to Lidl Breaks .ie
We stayed for Two nights in this hotel in October. Right upon entering the hotel we were greeted by a member of staff who told us there was a wedding party checking in and there could be a delay of a few minutes, while we were waiting this gentleman took the time to ask us where we had travelled from and wished us a pleasnt stay in the hotel, we took this as a great first impression of a fine establishment. It did not stop there either, from the lady who checked us in who was very friendly, everything about the hotel was first class: the rooms were large and comfortable, the bathroom and shower was spotless, the bar and its staff were top notch, the food in both the restaurant and in the bar was delicious, the buffet breakfast the following morning was perfect after a stroll along the promenade which the Salthill Hotel is very conveniently located adjacent to. All in all, we were puzzled upon leaving that this hotel is rated as only 3 star when it far outreaches this status. This is a top quality hotel located in gorgeous surroundings and it is definitely worth recommending. We will be returning to stay here again in the future for sure. L & T
Superb. Great location. Excellent staff. Very good food.(Vegetables could be cooked a little more) Very Clean. Great atmosphere. Very Good value for money.
Salthill Hotel was a lovely hotel - bedrooms were nice and roomy and the staff very friendly. We had an evening meal on each night we stayed and the food was fabulous and evening entertainment on both nights. The leisure centre was very big and clean. After booking with Lidl.ie we got great value for money for our weekend at the hotel. I would rate Salthill Hotel 5/5 as it was a pleasant hotel to stay in.
A brilliant break in excellent surroundings. The staff were top class, friendly, helpful and service with a smile. Food, facilites were A1 and we would definitely go back for a further stay. Last but by no means least a special word of thanks to Lidl for the excellent value break. ****
Firstly the Lidl Break offers are fantastic value and very easy to access online. We stayed at the Salthill Hotel in Galway fo 2 nights B&B and 1 evening meal. The experience was fantastic from the time you enter the hotel up to the tme you leave it. The staff at reception, the bar and resturaunt were very friendly and helpful and the food in the resturaunt was top class. The breakfast each morning was one of the best we have had in any hotel. The only minor thing was the lack of entertainment in the hotel bar. Eventhough it was midweek a bit of live music would not have gone astray. Altogether though this was a 5 stay visit and stay at the Salthill Hotel and well done to Lidl for their offers. Fantastic stay and fantastic value. We will definitely be visiting the Salthill Hotel again and it will be booked through the Lidl website.
We really enjoyed our stay in the Salthill Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. We hope to go back again in the near future. The Lidl Breaks are great value.
The hotel is lovely, location is ideal. The rooms were lovely plenty of space for 2 adults & 2 kids. The leisure centre was great. Bar was brillant great entertainment both nights. Bar staff and reception staff couldn't be more helpful. Only downside was the restaurant, staff were rude ans unhelpful which is a pity because otherwise it we had a fantastic weekend!
Stayed one night. Room very clean and comfortable and staff very friendly. Food excellent. Thanks Lidl very good value for money. Only complaint was the shower in the room was cold. Leisure centre very good. Would definitely stay there again. F & M.
Apologies for only replying to your request now. The location is superb as we have a small baby and did not need to get into our car once as all amenities were close by. The leisure facilities were amazing and allows for everyone as it is so big. The hotel itself was very nice, clean and well kept. However there were a few attention to detail issues. The first on check in it was confirmed we had a cot ordered and yet we still had to wait for an hour for it to come to the room along with this we also rang for an iron three times and finally it arrived after over an hour too...The food was good enough really. On the day of check out at eleven we went to go for a swim and suddenly we realised there was no water in the room, we didnt take too much notice of this and they said it would be back in about half an hour, so we continued to go swimming. It was well over an hour before anything came back and at this all black stuff flowed out of the taps and then it went off again. We got no notification about this and it delayed us waiting and after all that we still had to leave the hotel without having showers and it was very inappropriate. The hotel really didnt have much to say regarding the matter, yet i found it appalling we were not given prior notice to rearrange our plans. It was very unfortunate that this happened as we really enjoed our stay but the ending spoiled it. Regards Maria Lynch
hotel fab, food brill, bedroom very spacious. 4.80 for a pint of lager, i thought was a little on the dear side. staff very helpful and friendly.lounge very comfortable and super view across the bay. superb value for money and will certainly go back sometime soon. Tom Mulreid.
stayed in Salthill Hotel for two nights 23rd and 24th Feb 2011. excellent in every way. food good, staff friendly and great value for money. C&A M.
Brilliant Hotel can't understand its low star rating have stayed in 4 star hotels that couldn't match its quality or even come close. Staff very helpful & polite, view from room breath taking, most comfortable bed I've ever slept in & whole hotel spotlessly clean would definitely go again.
hotel was lovely, food was good as hotel food goes, staff very friendly, facilities excellent. bar was lovely very trendy, busy with weddings at the weekend our room was just over the function room i think cos music was very loud but we still managed to sleep. a bit disappointed that the bed was two single beds joined together but other than that i would really recommend it, very very good value
stayed at salthill hotel on sunday 13th february 2011. the lhotel was lovely.the food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. the only complaint that i would have was that the hotel was very quiet on that night. great value for money and thanks to lidl for the great offers. sean and elemer
great hotel, lovely food , comfortable room with great shower, very good value for money .well done lidl will be back
Lovely Hotel, great food, great location. Staff could be a bit friendlier.
Exellent. We would definately go back there again.
stayed for the 2 nights b&b 1 evening meal deal, fab hotel great staff, beautiful food it was a great weekend well worth the money each & every staff member was the best you could ask for, the bar & restaurant staff were second to none, especially given that the hotel was very busy, top marks
What can i say everything perfect the hotel and staff were execelent food perfect especially the seafood chowder. The only complaint was the price of drink in the bar but that is to be expected in Hotels. We will be booking again with Lidl and have told so many people about the break offers the value was unbeleivable. Christy and Elaine Dublin.
My sister and I had a most pleasant stay in the Salthill hotel. There was a lovely frienly atmosphere. The food was excellent both dinner and breakfast with a great selection and wonderful service. The bedroom was spotless and cosy. The only complaint is that the bed was very warm, as I like a cool bedroom. Would I go back? Definitely. Thanks to Lidl, what great value for money. Well done!
Excellent Hotel, definitely worth a visit. Staff are very good and the leisure centre is the best I’ve seen. Rooms are very well kept. Second time there and I’m looking forward to the next time. Thanks all, Colm.
The break was great value for money. The Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The bedroom was clean and large. I found the down duvet a little "noisy" when I moved in the bed. The pillows were soft and welcoming when you lay down. I do'nt do fitness so I cannot comment on that area. The location is a treat especially when it comes to sunset. Some of the lounge's fabric covered chairs were a bit grubby so I declined to use them. The food was delicious in the bar and especially in the restaurant. You got just enough to satisfy and keep you happy. Would I go back, yes I could be very easily tempted with prices like that. George Melia.
